Cowboy up Monday
Oh Vickie. I am so glad you got the book. I hope it helps you in some way.
Love you

Good Morning Ladies.......
Vickie -- Glad you're taking care of the paperwork for the CPA - it will be a big relief to get it behind you, but I know it must be difficult for you.
I'm hoping to buy a leaf-blower to help get the leaves up in my yard. I went to a giant Boy Scout yard sale yesterday hoping to score some law equipment, but no luck. I wish Maura's boyfriend could help with lawn work, but he's very busy working overtime and taking care of his place.
Cindi - I have a back room full of junk that I need to get busy on. It's just I have so much to get rid of, I want to get it all sorted out so I have one place for stuff I'm keeping, one place for stuff I need to donate, and one place for stuff to get rid of.
I hope you feel well enough to get to the Fair - sounds like it would be a great day!
Connie - Sounds like you had a great week-end; I'm so happy for you. I have a hutch that Maura was supposed to take - it was my grandmother's, then my Mom had it, and now me. Time for Maura to have it, I really don't have room for it. She says she wants it.....but she has some old furniture she has to get rid of before she has room for it. If I have to keep it, I want to move it, because it's where I want my futon to be. I want to re-arrange my living room because right now, I can't get to my windows because of furniture placement -- I want to be able to open curtains and blinds and let the light in. Jim always wanted all the windows covered/closed - and I want to let the air and light in.
I can understand you not wanting to move into a ground floor apartment. What would be the purpose of moving? Are you unhappy with your location? It sounds like you are well settled where you are, and I don't really recall you complaining of anything there. Moving is such a big thing!
Eileen - Gary is a real mover and shaker!! One of the pros of having him there with you.... Someone living with you has lots of pros and cons ... hopefully, there'll be lots more pros than cons!!
Checked out Newseum - congratulations of making the Top 10!

Maura and Joe came over yesterday for a visit. Joe is going to list the motorcycle for me - I'll have to go to my insurance agent to title it, plus I have to renew my car registration. I had to pay overdue excise taxes before I could renew it.
Trish - OUCH!! Five teeth??!!? I have to go to the dentist finally on Wednesday, and I.am.not.looking.forward.to.it. I know I have at least two teeth that have to be removed, and I am not looking forward to it. Don't know how many cavities I have. It has been way.too.long since my last visit. Shame on me.
I slept really, really good last night. Thank.you.Xanax!!
Good wishes to all.
Mary
Hello Mary....so happy to see you here today!!! I am glad you will be able to open window and curtains and let the air and sunshine in!! It just makes the house smell so fresh and clean.
As for my china hutch, my granddaughter, Amanda will be taking it when they get married next summer and have more room. I have room for it, I just want less things around!! Give your daughter, Maura a time limit. If she can't make it by then let her know you will be keeping it for yourself. Jamie has my MIL's china hutch and Carrie has a house full already!! Amanda asked for it so she gets it. Kyleigh didn't want it. She took my solid oak dining room set and some smaller tables and lamps.
So are you putting your futon in your spare bedroom? That would be nice for when your granddaughter is there! You have a lot of work ahead of you. It will be so nice when you have it all done....just the way you want it!!
I am glad you slept good last night. I hope tonight will be a better night for me. I am just dragging!
Have a good evening....l love you....hugs...connie d
Connie - It's not that I want to move the futon in the middle room, that's the room that I have to clean out, and keep everything until it's all sorted and can be gotten rid of or donated.
I want to move the futon to the wall where the hutch is now - it's the only "solid" wall with no windows. The futon, where it is now, would make it hard to open/close curtains/windows. If I move the futon, I can put a small table and chair there, and have access to windows.
I'd really want to get rid of the hutch - if Maura can't take it now, then I'd like to move it to the spare room.
Mary
Mary, you are doing what you need to do to make your home YOUR home. I think that's very necessary and a good thing for you. By all means, open the windows! I know what a hard path you are on, but you no longer need to worry about catering to another's preferences. Small positives are important.
Love you, sista.
Very pretty! How big is each square? I've got to get some yarn...I am no expert, but my Grandmother taught me how to make an afghan -- don't know what the pattern is called, but it's like a zig-zag pattern. If memory serves me correctly, it's single crochet 10 stitches, then drop three, the do 10, then add three....something like that. /\/\/\/\/\/\/\/\ You do something like 10 rows of one color, then 10 rows of another, then 10 rows of a third color, repeat. LIKE THIS, THEN THIS, THEN THIS, THEN THIS, AND THIS, AND THIS...... It has been about 15 years since I've done it, but I'd like to try it again. I made it to fit a single bed, wide enough to go down a few inches on each side; this time I'd be making it for a queen size bed. Should keep me busy for a while, but I'll have to figure out how march yarn to get.
Maybe I should go to the Senior Center....they advertise knitting/crocheting groups...
Mary
Mary-
This square is 5 inches. It's made with cotton thread.
Have you ever heard of ravelry.com. It's a knitting and crocheting website that has patterns for everything. You have to join but it's free. You can create an online library of patterns. The have forums where you can ask questions.
I do have a friend who has done this pattern with sport weight yarn to make an lap robe. Crocheting at the Senior Center sounds like it might be fun. I plan to join something like that when I get to Texas and get settled.
