Hello, This Is Sleepless In Oregon
Hello Trish....I am glad you had a good nights sleep!! You needed it. You missed the parade but you helped at the information table. It sounds like there was plenty of fun and food for everyone!!
So you got your dinner in the crock pot....good for you!! What did you make tonight? You always come up with good food ideas.
I was going to make Eileen's salsa chicken for everyone tomorrow. No, my family has other plans. They will be bringing dinner to me! They said, I always cook but they want me to just relax. They are doing this because they can't spend the night this time. That is fine, more time to be together!!
You got a good start on your mowing...I agree...finish when it is not so wet!
Enjoy your evening and your meal...love you...hugs...connie d
Hi Connie,
I made pork, sauerkraut and potatoes. It's the easiest meal. I put a piece of pork in the crockpot. Cut up some potatoes. I don't peel them. Then I cover everything with a bag of sauerkraut Turn on the crockpot and walk away.
I hope hope you have a good visit with the kids tomorrow.
Love you

Trish, you must have been exhausted. Hubby cut the grass today -- have to make hay while the sun shines! Anyway, we've had a couple of really great weather days and he's worked in the yard a while both days.
Hope your dinner is delicious. I love the smell of food cooking in a crockpot. Especially chili or cowboy beans.

I had sleeve surgery 7 weeks ago tomorrow after waiting 13 months to get insurance approval. I'm on disability for osteoarthritis and depression which I hope will lessen as I lose weight. It's hard to exercise when movement hurts, but I have my last doc appointment on Wednesday, so I hope he approves me to go back to my arthritis pool exercise classes. It will be good to be able to move easily. Many diets have come and gone, ending in my gaining more than I lost. I think I've lost around 40 pounds, but I can't depend on my scale. Protein shakes and yogurt make me sick, so it's hard to get the protein in. Any suggestions?
I ate a lot of refried beans with salsa and melted cheese early on. How about cottage cheese? I'm not familiar with the sleeve so I have no idea what restrictions there might be. Have you tried looking for your surgery on the OH surgery board and perusing those postings? You might find lots of suggestions there. Also, does your surgeon offer a support group?
Congrats on your surgery and weight loss!
Is Minkey a nickname?

Hey Ladies,
I am finally getting my MS under control...I am so glad because I was beginning to think that I was going to be messed up. Today, I slept a good part of the day because the meds just make me so sick and yesterday, I got the shot that makes me so damn tired...well, you know. So, I'll be sleepless in AR tonight. I am planning on putting my grand babies to bed and then I will make me a new jacket. I found this gorgeous tweed material that has some very pretty flakes in it and the lining I got, yes...it matches the flake color that is so subtle but with the lining, it will show up at the right time. I think. Anyway, I have a pair of pants cut out and ready to sew so after the jacket, if I'm still up, I will put the pants together.
What I learned about just stopping my meds...don't do it.
I hope you guys all sleep better tonight. Vic, I love the sitting area...the window treatment is perfect.
Jeannie, I'm sorry you've had a bad run with your MS but it sounds like things are finally getting better. I hope you can get the rest you need tonight -- but if not, your sewing projects sound great. I wish I could sew. I don't have the patience. My MIL used to sew all her clothes when she was younger. In her latter years, she didn't. She was 4' 10" and pretty much had to sew in order to get things to fit her petite frame.
