Another Sleepless Night
Hi,
Im getting ready to pack up my car to leave in the morning to go to Michigan and Illinois.
Ill get to Michigan sometime on Sunday early evening and stay overnight. Then drive to Chicago Monday morning and get there in time to take care of Vinnie so my daughter can go to work.
So Iget this cute call this morning fromVinnie! Grammy can Buy For Haloween? Use card? Then she hangs up!!
I know what they r up too!
Im a sucker so of course I told her yes!! And I told her to get groceries for when we get there!! And told her what to buy!!

Hi Trish and my OFF family:
I had an appointment this morning at 10 with my pain doc's PA. Well, I got up at 9:30 and really had to hustle. Fortunately, where I live now is only a minute or so from the office. So I got there in time, but had to wait behind someone who had a long time to make an appointment.
I told Bethany, the PA, that the epidural didn't help. She said it may be time to think about surgery, but with the type of deformity I have (scoliosis), she didn't think any doctor around here would touch me. But she referred me to their back doctor who deals with back deformities, plus I have an MRI set up. She had x-rays done, but said they weren't very good. I have a feeling they'll redo the x-rays.
I wanted to go to Walmart after that to get some food in the house, but a coworker was stopping by to bring over some wine from this Wisconsin winery I like and he said he'd be there by noon. So I had to quickly stop by an ATM and get money and come home. He didn't get there until 12:30.
Trish, my mom didn't approve of my choice not to get married. Well, when I was younger I thought no man would want me because I was so fat and unappealing. And so I concentrated on my career. At this point, I've been on my own and don't want a man telling me what to do (it's tough enough with my brother). Mom still would've liked both me and my sister to have given her grandchildren. Oh well ... we led nontraditional lives.
Mary, it sounds like you are moving forward with your life. Good for you.
Connie, hang in there. I think of you often. Find something to brighten your day. When I'm blue, the one thing that always makes me laugh is the movie, "Bull Durham." You may have something like that.
Kathy, I'm glad you thought Juliette was so cute. She has that effect on people. The woman I got her from, *****scued her from the streets of West Monroe, La., said she was so beautiful she needed a beautiful name.

Hello Eileen....I think of you often too. I know you understand the chronic pain we have. It sucks!!
I hope they can do something for your back pain. They will probably not do another Xray as they don't show up enough in those areas. I would think an MRI or CT scan. I did not know you have scoliosis? How did I miss that? Good grief...we have been friends for a long time! My CRS or maybe it is because I am blonde???
I agree with you ....I don't think it matters who you marry if you are really in love and committed to that person. Education is nice but not a must have for me!! Although now no more marriage for me!! If people don't want to marry they don't need to....these days anything goes! Plus people can adopt at any age. You don't have to adopt babies there are many older kinds that need homes too. It makes me upset when people criticize others with a lower education!
I haven't been able to watch even my favorite shows...Fear of the Walking Dead was on and I shut it off after about 5 minutes. I can't follow along. My thoughts are too jumbled. A "wonderful friend" sent me three movies. I am hoping to watch one tonight or tomorrow. I only watched two of them so far. I love movies so I need to try again!!

Connie, I don't think I remember them telling me I had scoliosis. Maybe someone did, but I don't remember. I know I never mentioned it here. I remember two girls when I was growing up had scoliosis and had to wear these cumbersome back braces, even in summer. We played softball together. They were really good players despite the back braces. I was never diagnosed with anything until a few years ago, but maybe I had it all along. Who knows?
Eileen, I'm glad your ortho doc's office is taking new x-rays and an MRI. You want them to have the best images possible before they make a decision about what to do next. I will say some prayers and swing some chickens for you that there is more that can be done without having to do surgery as I know you are a bit reluctant to be thinking surgery at this point.

Trish your painful sinuses sound like dryness. Has the relative humidity dropped suddenly. Mine get that way when the humidity is really low. I snort saline spray but I'm sure you've heard it all.
Carla safe travels on the drive to Michigan and Illinois. Grandma's jobs are to spoil the grandchild. I had this discussion with a friend of mine today.
Eileen- scoliosis is not fun. My friend has it. She's had several back surgeries to insert rods to stabilize the spine. She also had conscious brain surgery for a non-specific hand tremor which would not respond to medications.
Connie I'd be curious to learn what the presentation said about balance. I have horrible balance. I attribute it to getting varilux glasses as thats when my vertigo started. I try to work on balance yoga poses in the pool with my class. If we tip over we just get wet. They have my mother working on balance exercises since she fell a month or so ago.
Kathy- thanks for the encouraging words. I'm determined to get it all under control again.
Mary glad you're getting all of your paperwork in order. Happy Joe can do the repairs for you. I agree with Connie get those pipes insulated so you don't have problems this winter. Do you put plastic around the base of the mobile home to keep cold out during the winter. Many of the mobile homes do that here in Maine. I have friends who volunteer near Dallas in the winter, they made a skirt of foam insulation sheets to keep from freezing up in the winter.
Not much else new today. I went and posed for a video at my friends cafe and gift shop. Had to pretend to eat a lobster roll. Couldn't eat it as the lobster was suspect. Didn't smell bad. Then I came home and took a nap. I was tired from driving yesterday and getting up early for the video tapping. Moved all the boxes around today to clear a path so the trundle bed can be moved out of the loft. Those damn books weigh a ton! Glad I skinnied the collection down to nine boxes.
