Still not sleeping Wednesday
Good morning sistas,
It's raining here. Hallelujah! Really just more of a steady mist/sprinkle kind of rain, but I'll take it. Any moisture is good for my yard.
I'm pretty much having an epic Pinterest fail this morning. I'm trying to figure out that Pin where you take down your vertical blinds, but leave the hardware in place and use curtains instead. Ha! I ordered the IKEA clips, like everyone said they used, only they must have different vertical blinds than I do. I can't figure out how to make the little IKEA hooks attach to the vertical blind clips! Grrrr.
My new ironing board thing just arrived. It's nice, I guess, but it doesn't fit very securely over my existing ironing board. Methinks it needs some tweaking. Either that, or I need to go buy one of those bigger ironing boards at WalMarts. It never ends, does it?
So, is anyone else getting these spam private messages here on OH.com. I've had three in two days! One from one of those crazies over in Nigeria or wherever telling me I've inherited millions and if I'll just send them $10K, they'll get the money transferred to me. Ha! And now this morning two from people saying they've accepted my friend requests. I haven't made any friend requests. I may have to change all of my OFF stuff. If so, and I reappear on here with a new name, etc., don't freak out. It's really me.
And yes, I reported the mails as spam.
Well, I'd better get back to my curtains. There's bound to be a way to do this thing. I just have to figure it out. I'll check back in later.
Love you all!
Good Noon Vickie and OFF-
Everyone must have a busy Hump Day since there are so few posts.
Vickie sorry about your Pintrest fail. Send me a picture and I'll try to help you out or contact whomever posted it on Pintrest to see if they will help. Try a bungee cord on the ironing board to keep it stable on your existing ironing board. Not getting any spam messages on OH. Still get spam on aol.com mail.
Well I'm suffering from moving paralysis. Cannot make myself get out of the chair and finish the packing. I did finish the loft area yesterday and I have packed one box of pictures. Next time I'm going to hire someone to pack it all less stress. I will get it done no matter what. I would like a few days to relax before the movers come.
Eileen delighted to read that your move is over. It looked like Juliette survived the turmoil. Sylvester has become clingy and he actually woke me up last night. He had burrowed under the covers next to my neck and shoulders. The heat is what woke me up.
Mary good for you on getting your meds organized and restarting them. Hope you will like the new lightweight walker.
Jeannie sorry to read about your shingles. I had a case last winter but they were really mild. I can understand having to stop one medication for the sake of another. It's a shame that so many meds are harsh on stomach and GI tracts. I'm planning to get the shingles vaccination this year. My insurance company will pay for it once I turn 60. My mother has fussed at me for years to get the vaccination and I have stubbornly refused since my insurance company would not pay for it. Karma - I had shingles this last winter.
Connie hope you're feeling a bit better today and stronger. I loved the picture you posted of Nik yesterday. He is a healthy young man and you would never believe he had been so ill. A happy story for a childhood cancer case.
My young friend who is on fire detail in Idaho is headed home today. I'm sure she will be happy to get home to her own bed and her cats.
Tomorrow is my annual WLS appointment. I'll be curious to see how they handle the regain. I'm not happy or proud about this but it's a fact of life. If I could afford the surgery I would ask them to do it over again but I don't think that's an option. So Newbies on the forum, listen to your tool and practice mindful eating. Find ways to distract yourself from head hunger and comfort eating.
Well, can't avoid it any longer. Back to the boxes. There aren't that many more to go, I just can't seem to push through. ARGH! Thoughts and hugs going out to all of you.
Cindi B.
Hello Cindy...sorry you are dragging trying to get the last of the packing done. I think we all get like that. It gets so boring and tedious near the end.
I am glad your friend, the firefighter, is going home and made it safely through the fires. Answered prayers.
I hope all goes well for you at your WLS appointment tomorrow.
Prayers , love and hugs...connie d
P.S. Nic is doing great and that makes me happy!! The cancer is still in his thigh. It isn't changing so they are watching it closely. They tried to remove it but it is too wrapped around in bones and muscles etc.. If it grows again he more then likely will lose that leg. He even knowing that is the most upbeat young man!! I am glad you liked his picture. I love him so much!!
Greetings Vickie and OFF,
Vickie, I'm sorry you are having a hard time with the curtains. I understand how that can be frustrating. Hope you're able to figure it out.
I'm working on sleep deprivation, again. Last week, it was the night before therapy. This week, the same thing.
I am heading to get the kids at Izzy's piano lesson again. The boys will play with the kittens, while Izzy plays the piano.
Must scoot.
Love,
Trish

Hello Trish...sorry you are still in the sleep deprivation mode. There are so many of us having the same issue. I keep praying it gets better soon.
I am glad that the boys have kittens to play with while Izzy plays the piano. I am not sure how long the lesson lasts. It is helpful to keep the boys interest in something else.
Love and hugs and prayers....connie d
Good morning/afternoon Vickie and everyone....
Vickie...I am so sorry that ironing board and table aren't working well together. I think I would try a bungie cord as Cindi suggested .....before you go buy something more. Things just can't be easy can they?
I am not getting messages on OH yet. I thought I was hacked last week but it was just a reset issue instead! I hope OH does something to stop it right away.
As for me... nothing much. I am feeling a bit better with my depression today. Hopefully it continues to go in the right direction. These last few days had me scared!
I got my flu shot this morning. I always get sick from them. My headache is there already. My doctor still insists I get them.
My daughter, Carrie is coming up Sunday for the day. She has a meeting to attend on Saturday, so can't spend the night this time. I will be happy just to have her here.
Sending prayers for all our OFF Family and their families.
Have a good rest of the day. I love you bunches.
Lots of love and tons of hugs for all....connie d
Good Morning OFF Ladies....
Well, the walker came, but it was Huge - they sent a Bariatric Walker. The fellow delivering took one look at me and said "something's wrong here - this walker is too big for you" (I love him, and what a cutie!) Before surgery I ordered a walker, but couldn't take it because it was huge and to heavy to lift into or out of the car. Well, the company still has my old information re height and weight.....so the driver told me to refuse the order and then it will get straightened out and I'll get the right walker next week.
Went to Salvation Army today. Got an ice cream maker for $1.99 -- want to try some protein ice cream -- I've seen recipes on Eggface's site and I've got six to eight bottles of sugar-free Syrups to use for making different flavors -- figure it would be a fun thing to do with Taylor and a good way to get some extra protein in. Also got a big crock pot for $2.99 - I want to use it for cooking a whole chicken in it, and also pot roast and pulled pork. As I mentioned, I'm having problems with my teeth so I need to use the crock pot to make meat more tender. So I went on a major shopping spree today -- spent $5.29!! That's a major investment for me! I'm trying to be very careful with what I'm spending. But I also splurged and got a McDonald's Ice Coffee for $1.00. I feel like a big-time spender!
I think tomorrow night there's a WLS Support Group meeting at the hospital. I went to this group once and it was a good meeting and well run, so I'm planning to go to that.
Cindi, good luck at your appointment tomorrow. I am so fortunate I still have restriction. I'm doing very well.
Connie -- sorry you're having a reaction to your flu shot. Funny, I went to the doctor last wee and he had me get a pneumonia shot, but nothing was mentioned about a flu shot -- wonder if they're combined, or if I'll have to get a shot on my next visit?
Hope everyone else is doing ok. I'm going to do some more cleaning up. Always lifts my spirits when I accomplish a cleaning project.
Good Wishes to everyone.
Mary B
Hello Mary....I am so glad you are going back to the meeting tonight. That will be so good for you!
I am glad you got such great deals on your 'shopping spree"!! Have you tried the crock pot to be sure it holds the temps? What a great deal!! I have 3 different sizes. It depends on what I am making which one I use.
It sounds like you are doing more cleaning. I know how hard you wanted to tackle those rooms. One of the good things about living alone. No more extra messes to clean up.
I am sure you are missing Jim...I am still praying for you sweetie!! You are important to us here on OFF. I am happy you are still posting as you can.
Lots of love and hugs....connie d
SUCCESS!!! I finally got those dang little hook thingies into the existing hardware for the vertical blinds and got my new sheers hung! I LOVE THEM! A much more pleasant and airy look than that damn brown velvet! LOL! The ends of my fingers are raw, but it was worth it. The room already has such a different look and feel to it. Now I can't wait to make my new curtains!
