Good Morning to all my dear friends here!

First, let me say thanks again for all your support and kind words, and the cards I have received. I am blessed to have found OFF.  No nonsense on this Board, no "bickering" - just love and encouragement - a place to share the big and little things.

I have found two different churches that I want to "try out".  My brother and his wife moved to California  two years ago and the first thing they did was visit several churches till they found one where they were comfortable.

I am also pleased to report that I am working hard to get back on program--keeping a notebook to record what I'm eating and what I'm doing.  No bread/pasta the past four days__going cold turkey on the carbs_ must slay that carb dragon!

Will check back later.  Love you all

Mary

Good Saturday Morning Mary,

The sleep princess didn't show up last night!!!! I'm up and can't sleep.

I think I'm thinking of my revision to much!!! We leave for Chicago next Saturday. I'm excited to go to see my Vinnie but not what might happen!!!

Mary  I've been thinking about you.

Hope all is well with everyone.

Mary, Carla, and all to follow.  Well, another bad sleep night.  I finally decided to boil bison burgers for our dog who is on a special diet for health reasons.  Anyway, those just finished and they are cooling on the kitchen counter so I can put them in the fridge and try to get a bit of sleep.

Mary, I've been thinking about you and praying for you.  Good for you re working on slaying the carb dragon and journaling everything you put in your mouth.

Carla, I hope you have a wonderful time with your Vinnie when you leave later this month and I hope your surgery goes without a hitch and you can finally feel better once your Addison's is under control when your body is getting the nutrients it needs.

Hubby has a migraine.  At 10 a.m. he has to go to a rental property he manages and take a look at their bathroom fan.  I hope his headache is gone by then.

Can't believe another weekend has rolled around.  When I was working, I lived for weekends and holidays (who doesn't when they're working?).  Now, I need to keep my calendar handy to see what day it is and what we have to do for that day.  I'm pretty anal about my calendar.  I have things color coded.  I keep track of what we receive in the mail each day -- so that I'm aware when different bills come to safeguard against missing mail (identity theft).  Keep track of when I do things, like place orders, etc.  I admit it's all over the top but it makes me feel in control.

Special prayers for Connie, Vickie, Mary, and others.

Hugs.

Don't know what day of the week it is?  Try not knowing what month it is. with our weather I often don't know what season it is.  I gave up a long time ago.  Calendar only works if you have a point of reference.  I am too blonde

Carla - Sorry you didn't sleep well lastr night.  Mr. Sandman doesn't seem to be doing a good job laely!!  Enjoy your your trip to Chicago and your visit with Vinnie!

Cindy -- I hear you about losing track of what day of the week it is!  But I absolutely love being "retired" --  I always enjoyed working, but the last 2-3 years of work I was in so much pain my ability to do a good job was affected.  I remember my last day - I had returned from a two week vacation, and I cried the whole day because of the pain and stress.  I never went back.  And I never looked back.  Yes, I'll face financial challenges, but I'm not miserable Monday-Friday!

Mail, on the other hand, is something I still need to get under control.  I'm going to be looking at my budget and try to "see the whole picture" and I think I'm going to set up automatic payments - I have it for my mortgage, but I'm going to add health insurance, auto insurance, house insurance, electric, and cable tv/phone/internet to the list.

Morning OFF family...

Well it has been a week of HELL at work!!!!! Not sure I like short holiday work weeks!!!  Remember I told you all about one tenant having fleas really bad? She told me she DID NOT HAVE FLEAS!!!!!! Well Now that she knows or should I say ADMITS that she DOES...she will NOT stay in her apartment!!!!!!! She has been staying at her sisters that also lives here!!!! Ofcourse she is TAKING THEM OVER THERE NOW!!!!!!!!!!!  Remember she has/had them all over on her head!!!! BOTH say she isn't and don't have them there...other tenants in that building are calling me constantly that she is there and they do NOT want her fleas in their apartment!!!!  Now that building has 12 apartments in it and each one wants us to come spray it!!!!!! THAT COSTS ALOT OF MONEY!!!!!!!! Why do that if you DO NOT HAVE FLEAS?????????? HELLO!!!???? If I call Terminix back before the due date THEY have to pay for him to do this. OH NO!!!!!!! Also the woman starting all this...ready????? She claims Terminix killed her cat. How could that happen if she took the cat out when they did her place like she was told to do???? I am sure the fleas killed the cat. IF the cat is REALLY dead. Had a call from another tenant yesterday telling me she saw the cat OUTSIDE!!!!!!!! Serious????? YES!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!! Then just before closing time I get a call from METRO. This crazy woman called METRO on me!!!! WHY???? Because she has fleas and I am NOT DOING ANYTHING ABOUT IT!!!!!!!!!! WTH??????? I told METRO this was out of control. I DID do something and told her the WHOLE story. She said she has about 300 more just like her...OMG!!!!!!!!!! How do these people get away with this crap????????  So I called the crazy woman and let her have it both barrels!!!!! She denied calling METRO on me!! WTH?????? I told her she needed to call ME NOT THEM!!!!!!!!!! She said we don't get along. Yeah so?????? I still do my job!!!!! Then I told her I would get Terminix back and she had to pay for it. Oh no...she can't afford that again. Well buy some flea bombs and do it yourself. Well maybe.  OMG what does this woman want??????Then I asked her if she was doing what Terminix told her to do after he was done. What was that? SIGHS....................Vac the floor good then throw out the stuff you cleaned up outside in dumpster!!! Do it everyday!!!!! Get rid of the fleas!!!!!!! OH...well yes and no. OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YOU HAVE TO DO THAT SO YOU GET RID OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oh.   I told her that her sister also has fleas now that she is staying there...OH NO SHE DOESN'T!!!!!! OMG......YES SHE DOES!!!!!! I told them BOTH to take some water in a bowl and add some dish soap to it...place it on the floor under a night light and in the morning they would KNOW!!!!!!!!!!!! The fleas would jump in and drown. Call me Monday and let me know!!!!!!! OK.   Now to see what they tell me.

That is how my week has gone..........Rick wants me so need to go...be back later....

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!

Good morning Mary and OFF-

Well Saturday has rolled around again.  Mary so happy to see your post this morning.  You are still in my thoughts as you go through the loss of Jim.  You game plan of church and going carbless sounds like a good one.  Carbs are my number one issue.

Carla I know you are excited about seeing the grand and I'm sure that thoughts about an upcoming surgery have contributed to the insomnia.

Linda B - I always have a hard time in Texas around Christmas.  It's hard to feel the season when there are leaves on the trees and it's 70 degrees out.  Last Christmas I got a kick out of how the ranchers decorated for Christmas.  One ranch piled the round bales of hay into a snowman and put a scarf on it.  Antoher ranch put Christmas lights on a tractor in the yard.

I use my phone to remind me of the day of the week and date as well as time.  I haven't worn a watch since I retired.  Every Friday I get an incredible sense of deja vu like I had just done this yesterday.

Judy, Judy, Judy-  Fleas OMG.  I don't know whether to laugh or cry when I read your post.  A couple of years ago Sylvester had fleas.  It took me two or three months to get rid of them.  I had him dipped.  I bombed the RV several times.  I bought a spray to spray the uphostlery.  I put moth balls in the vaccum bag to kill the eggs.  I put stuff on Sylvester's shoulders.  That woman has serious mental issues.  Sad and comical at the same time.  She thinks her cat is dead but it's been spotted.  Oh My!

Not much new in Maine today.  We've had cold and wet for several days.  Today I'm going to help the library print their donor labels so they can beg for money.  The library is strickly a voluntary thing in a town of 690.  Then I'm going to a friends house for a knitting afternoon.  She's been trying to knit a bowl for her cat.  She doesn't have confidence in her knitting skills so each summer we have a knitting day.  I figure this bowl might be finished in another five years.  I'll take my popcorn crochet project to work on while I'm there.

Then I have to set aside the panic attacks and finish the packing.  I have 16 days until the movers come.  OMG.  Also have a dental appointment and WLS annual appointment this week.

Hugs to all of you.  You're in my thoughts.

Hello Mary and OFF,

Came by earlier to post, and then got sidetracked talking to a friend at church.  We're going to the movies to see "War Room" later.  I've been looking forward to seeing it.

Never got the chance to check in on the other thread yesterday.  After an appointment at the pain center, I took lunch to Colleen and Frank, as she was having a yard sale.  Then, after she picked the kids up from school, I took Frankie to the zoo, and a playground, to free her up.  Frankie was upset with me, because when we went to check out the gift shop, it was closed, and he insisted I had the key to open it.

Mary, You continue to have my prayers.

Love and hugs to everyone.

Trish

Hi Mary and my OFF family:

Well, I didn't sleep well last night. Kept waking up. Finally got up at 8:30 and couldn't get back to sleep, so I went into the living room. I think I'm anxious about moving. Last night I packed a box of baking stuff; today I cleared out five Hefty large size garbage bags of clothing from the closet. I'm going to go by Goodwill on the way to work. Some of this stuff is good Quacker Factory clothing from QVC, but I don't wear it anymore (well, it doesn't fit ... because I've regained). But even so, I just wear t-shirts and sweatshirts to work now.

Also got rid of the old recliner that doesn't recliner and the small TV stand. But it was an adventure. The woman couldn't find my apartment. She was way off. I ended up staying on the phone with "her man" and even then, they went by Jefferson Avenue (Evansville's streets are the president's names ... Washington, Adams, Jefferson, etc. They were down on Monroe. Sad that people don't know the presidents names.)  Anyway, she wanted the chair and then decided she'd take the TV stand. I sold the two for $30. Better than donating them.

Friday night football was a bear as usual. Late stories, things not done ahead of time like they were supposed to be done. My coworkers gave me lots of help, but we were still late.

Judy, your posts are always good for a laugh. Is this apartment complex called the Funny Farm?

Mary, sounds like you are settling in. Glad you are finding your way and getting back on the program. Something I need to do, too.

I need to get ready for work. It's raining outside, so I don't know if that will delay the high school golf meet that we have today. It's just a gentle rain.

Have a good day, folks

Hello Mary and everyone.....

Mary...good for you getting back on track!! I so need to but have not done it. I think cold turkey is the answer. I have been too depressed or in pain. I am getting nothing done. I get the meals from the dining room because if not I wouldn't eat anything. I am thinking about canceling my meals. They have just too much deep fried food, most fish and chicken is always coated, heavy gravies, pastas and lots of things with too much cheese. I try to always pick the least harmful of the dishes. Plus the servings are huge!! I really should just cut it all out!! I know I am eating more then I should. Keep encouraging me Mary!!!

You will have to let us know how you like the churches. I really hope you find one that is just right for you!!

You are so welcome...I am glad you got the card...at least I hope it was in the ones you received. Let me know if it didn't get there!!

I continue to keep you in my prayers...daily.

I wish you a peaceful and restful day/evening.

My granddaughter, Kyleigh and boyfriend, Mitch just left a little bit ago. It was nice having them here . They came later this morning. They have plans to go to their friends house later this evening. Playing games and being silly I am sure!!

I am wiped out!!! I made a couple pork tenderloins in the crock pot. They were mesquite BBQ. They were so good!!!! I ate a small piece as they don't always set well with me. That was enough!! I sent them home with all the rest of it. I had new little golden yukon potatoes. Mitch mashed them, skins on, I could have eaten the whole bowl!!! We had steamed baby carrots and of course frozen corn for Mitch!! Mitch thinks corn is the only vegetable, I always have some on hand for him!! I made some cresent rolls too.I was lazy and they had ice-cream for dessert. I planned to make brownies but I didn't have any veg oil. I only use olive oil and I was sure that wouldn't have worked for that. They were stuffed after the meal anyway. I sent the brownie mix and frosting home with them!!

I am just exhausted so I know I can't even attempt to reply to everyones post today. I am going to relax and watch a movie and hopefully sleep better tonight...I say that all the time...but then not many of us are sleeping well. I love you all!!!

Sending prayers fall our beautiful OFF Families and their families. Special prayers for some in need.

Have a wonderful evening...love and many hugs ....connie d
