Sleepless in Oregon
Hi. Well, after tossing and turning for a while, I finally just gave up and got up. Have had a cup of tea. All is quiet. I feel wide awake.
I didn't post yesterday. I was busy looking a budget stuff and doing online banking. Then, I baked chocolate chip cookies to bring to our veterinary office today when we take our dog in.
We're going to grocery shop early and then we have a mid-morning appointment and then an appointment at 2 p.m. So, another busy day.
I hope you are all catching some good zzzzzzz's right now.
I did read posts from yesterday.
Hugs and prayers for those that need or want them. I think of you all everyday.
Cindy P.
P.S.: Welcome to our newbies. Good to see you on OFF.
Good morning Cindy and everyone.....
Cindy...so sorry you can't get any sleep...neither can I. My sleep is all messed up! There are so many of us not sleeping well.
I am glad you got all your banking and and budgeting done.
I think it is so sweet that you take treats to you Vet Clinic. I am sure they enjoy it very much!! Who wouldn't want homemade chocolate chip cookies...yummy!!
I hope your appointment goes well this afternoon. I see you are going grocery shopping this morning. I used to love to grocery shop. Now it is more like a chore.
As for me.... I am up and about. I am going to lay down in a bit. I didn't get enough sleep.
I have an appointment to get my haircut and highlighted at 10:00. I keep telling her morning just don't work for me. She has so many regulars that get their hair done every week. It is hard to get appointments. She only works three days a week. I really like how she does my hair. I will have to work something out with her. This just can't work for me anymore. At least until my insomnia gets better.
My cleaning fairy comes at 1:00 until 4:00. No nap time this afternoon for me.
My phone is still not working right. I will have to call Verizon today. Some calls ring in and some messages ding but not consistently. I can't figure out why. I am always missing calls and messages. That phone is only 2 month's old it should work better then that. I have an Apple iPhone 6. Anyone have a clue what I can do to change that??
I will check in later after I can get my hair done and Verizon called.
Wishing you all a lovely day!! I love you all!!!
Prayers for our sweet OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for those in need...Vickie, Mary, Judy's mom and sister, and various others.
Loads of love and bunches of hugs to all....connie d
Good morning Cindy and Connie and my sistas,
I didn't sleep much either. My "magic" acupuncture bracelet didn't do its job last night for sure. I took two trazadol, two melatonin, and I slept fitfully from about 1 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. Just really aggravating, isn't it?
So my little Benny Bop is still sick today and still running fever, so Chris is bringing him here for the day. She's out of sick leave at work. Budder will go to day care.
And today is Budder's birthday! Our little boy is two years old today!
I spent much of yesterday afternoon figuring up the yardage I will need to do all the sewing projects I want to do for my house. Holy moly! I am not going to be able to afford all the fabrics I like at Country Curtains. I will go ahead and order the fabrics and curtains I like for the living room and kitchen dining area, but like I said yesterday, I'm waiting for a sale. However the fabrics for the master bedroom and bath are just too much money. $35/yd is ridiculous. SO. I will wait for my new bedspread and shams to arrive (they're lavender), and then I will take one of the shams with me to the local fabric stores and see what I can find. I only want to make a bedskirt, a few throw pillows, and valances, so I really don't have to have home decorator fabric for that. I can use cottons or duck, and there should be plenty to choose from at JoAnn's or Han****s or Hobby Lobby.
I called and made an appointment with my hematologist for Friday. I suppose I need to follow up on my von Willebrands disease before I lose my good health insurance in October. I'm trying hard to get all of my medical and dental and vision done before I have to go on stupid Obamacare. I will basically be self pay from this point on.
I started on a new sweater for myself last night. Last year I ordered some very expensive navy blue alpaca yarn and I tried a new sweater pattern, but it just didn't fit very well. So I'm unraveling the yarn and I'm going to make a sweater pattern that I've made before that fit very well. I love navy blue and wear that color all the time.
Well, I need to close now. Benny will be here soon. Connie, I'm sorry about your computer/phone woes. We surely do depend on our technology these days, don't we? Cindy, I hope you have good luck with your errands today and that you can sleep tonight. Prayers for everyone else.
Love you all!
Hello Vickie....sorry the "magic" didn't work for you and were unable to sleep. I can't figure out my so many of us aren't sleeping.
I am sorry sweet little Benny is still sick. I hope the meds kick in and he is better soon. I pray you don't catch it!!
Happy Birthday to Budder!!!! He sure has grown up fast!!
I hope you find a better deal on fabric. $35 a yard is pretty steep!
I hope your doctor has good news for you Friday. I for sure would get all your appointments set up before your good insurance runs out.
I am sure the sweater you make will be beautiful. I remember you starting that other sweater. I thought you liked it. If it doesn't fit right there is no point in keeping it.
Have a good evening!!! I think I have my phone and laptop working...thank goodness!
Love you much....hugs...connie d
Good Morning Cindy and OFF,
Cindy, I'm sorry you had trouble sleeping. Same for Connie and Vickie. I take an awesome med that knocks me out most nights. It's my mood stablizer, Geodon.
Vickie, your sleepless nights sound normal for what you are going through. You have a lot going on emotionally, and rightfully so.
Connie, I hope your hair appointment goes well. I had mine cut last week, and feel like a new woman.
I went to urgent care last night. Sinuses. I don't know if I told you what the doc at University of Michigan said.. He thinks the fact that I need a lot of upper teeth pulled may be contributing to the sinus issues. So, I'm getting six teeth pulled on the 21st. Most are on top. Hopefully, that might put an end to this torture. Only problem is I can't get the partial denture till after the New Year coz of maxing out my insurance.
So, today, I am going to putz around here. Then, this afternoon, I am watching the Munchkins for Colleen. She has to go to work, and I will pick them up at Izzy's piano teacher's and put dinner in the oven for Trent.
Praying for Vickie, Mary, Connie, and all my loved ones here.
Hugs,
Trish

Hello Trish....I am so happy to have my hair cut and highlighted!! It was way over do!!! It feels so much better now!! It sounds like last week you felt the same way!!
I feel bad that you need to have so many teeth removed. If it helps with your sinuses it is well worth it.
You have a busy evening. Enjoy you munchkins!!
Love ...HUGS....connie d
Good Morning Cindy, Connie, Vickie & Trish! And to the ladies who follow!
I need to leave for an appointment in a half hour, but wanted to stop in before I go.
It's been a busy couple days since the Labor Day/Birthday picnic for my mother in law Monday & yesterday running errands all day. In between I am trying to get organized for my stepdaughter's arrival Friday & feel like I am chasing my tail. I have really procrastinating which is puzzling to me. I just don't feel like cleaning the house to the point where I feel it is presentable or doing much else. I am tired. Last nite Jim got up around 1am & did not come back to bed for awhile. He woke me & I could not get back to sleep. I finally got out of bed to hunt him down & he said the dog woke him so he took her for a walk & then ate a bowl of cereal. I was hungry so I also decided to get a bowl...haha...and just totally went into a binge. I am so disgusted w/myself.
Anyhow, I am sorry so many of you are having sleeping problems. I am cranky this morning from being up. My daughter is going to cut my hair before Friday to save me going to the hairdresser which is nice, but she isn't real good w/doing layers. Oh well, it's a gift! I have never had my hair highlighted, Connie. I went gray in my early 30's so I figured the roots would grow out & ruin it if I ever got it done. But I love highlights.
Vickie, you are a bundle of energy with your sewing. I need a project and don't have anything now. I think like Connie my depression is moving in knowing the weather is getting ready to turn. I will miss the pool which has been my enjoyment & salvation this summer. Our grass is also turning a crunchy brown...time for summer to go!
Cindy, baking for the vets office is such a nice gesture! I don't enjoy cooking or baking much...Jim LOVES it so I always admire ppl who like to do it. I'd rather go out & eat...BAD...BAD!
Welcome to the newcomers. Nikki, I have seen you over on the gastric sleeve site. I am calling my surgeon's office today to get my surgery date as they were supposed to have called me yesterday. So I won't be too far behind you.
Well, time to find my keys...always fun and head out. Everyone have a good day!
Kathy
Hello Kathy...I hope your appointment went well.
You sure have been busy....got lots done!! You quit being hard on yourself....so you had cereal.....you could have eaten a 1/2 a pan of brownies...now that would not be good. Put it behind dye as keep going!!
I only have a little bit of grey (white) on my temples. I highlight and it all blends in. I am old...I deserve white hair!!
This time of year really brings me down... my depression increases...winter and more pain is on the way!! Do you have SAD?? Seasonal Affected Disorder. I do and I need to sit under lamps at least once a day.
Let me know when you have your surgery date!!
I am so tired my brain is really on low....not to mention sleep deprivation!!
Love and HUGS.....connie d
I see many of us have sleeplessness in common. Ugh.....it's frustrating. Someone told me it's hormones. I'm not positive. I did find one trick that helps me relax enough to fall asleep. One of my friends recommended remembering a dream I've had recently and go through the dream step by step. It works every time for me so am so grateful she shared that with me! Now if I could just stay asleep!
Wanted to ask everyone if they have had good success with exercising with arthritis in your joints. I have severe arthritis in my knees, especially one of them and find it difficult to walk for exercise. I know that I can swim, which I love, but getting me motivated to get to the pool is another thing. Am wondering if a recumbent stationary bike or rowing machine would be a good option.
I am also getting my hair cut/colored today and hopefully will post a new picture.
Hope you all have a wonderful day! It's gorgeous this time of year in Nashville - I could get used to these temps/sun year round!
Nikkie
