Happy Labor Day
Oh, holy crap! We had a total meltdown around here. Benny woke up with a fever after his nap. Then he started complaining of pain in his throat (uh oh, strep test!) and then he started throwing up. At the same time, Reese fell out on the porch and busted his mouth against one of the chairs. OMG. It bled profusely and the baby screamed and cried and screamed some more. We were all scrambling trying to take care of both of them at the same time, and wash sheets and clothes, etc. Thought we had everyone semi-settled, so I sat down to eat. Benny wasn't eating but he wanted to curl up in my lap. Two minutes later he threw up all over both of us again. Ugh. We stripped and took a shower together.
In the end, all I really ate was a dish of homemade chocolate ice cream--which was really rich and very delicious. I tell y'all, I have missed my calling. Anyway, the baby enjoyed the cold ice cream on his swollen gums. We don't think any of the baby teeth are loose, but his little gums are so swollen it's hard to tell. Benny is dressed in one of my old tees while we wash his clothes (and mine!), and for the moment, all is calm. Geez.
I ordered my new bedspread this afternoon. It's on sale for Labor Day at Wayfair, so I just went ahead and ordered it. Not sure it's the right shade of lavender, but I won't know until I see it in person and compare it to the fabric samples. It LOOKS right on the internet, but you never really know.
Eileen, I had a hit on my washer and dryer today too! Crossing fingers and swinging chickens for both of us to make a sale! I actually had several hits on different items today (I relist everything every weekend), but they mostly all fell through.
Well, waiting on my family all to leave so I can fall into bed and try to sleep again. I spent several hours roaming the house last night. I even went out and tried to sleep on the sofa on the porch. Sigh. Finally gave up and took a bath around 6 a.m. I am SO TIRED. I feel like the walking dead.
Carrie is beat, too. I'm glad she decided to spend the night and drive back to Waco in the morning. Now all she and I have to do is remake the bed so we can sleep. (I don't have a guest room since Mom has both of those rooms for her quarters, so when Carrie comes she either sleeps with me or on the inflatable bed.)
Well, I'm going to say good-night, all!
