Hello Eileen...I am glad you are feeling better. So sorry you have to work!! The holiday pay will really me nice!

At least it sounds like you had a good night's sleep. That will help getting through the night at work!! Isn't this your Friday??

I always cook up extra ground turkey and package it up in the freezer. I use it for taco's or whatever. It is nice having it all made when you are in pain or too tired to cook.

Have a great night..lots of love and hugs...connie d

Yes, this is my Friday ... I was hoping for no late games, but there is a late college football game. Drats!

The guy who wanted the washer/dryer bailed. He only had $100. I guess people want something for nothing. This is a good set.

Post Scriptum:  Just another day in paradise around here.  The boys are driving all of us bats.  Carrie is lying down with them now for a nap. THANK GOD!  Whew!  Between the sleep deprivation, the hormones, the depression from grief, etc., we are a wooly bunch today.  But the day is half done.  I guess we'll make it.

My fabric samples came in the mail--I guess on Saturday.  I guess no one checked the mail that day since I was babysitting all day.  Anyway, they're here and oh my!  It is going to be hard to decide!  I love all of them!!!  I can hardly wait to get started!

I am planning a cookout for our dinner tonight.  We're having hot dogs, baked beans, french fries, and homemade chocolate ice cream.  I've got the ice cream "cooking" (LOL!) right now.  I just love that little countertop ice cream freezer.  Too bad ice cream is such a no-no for WLS.  I absolutely love to experiment and make up new flavors.  I should work for Blue Bell!  LOL!  Anyway, today is just plain old chocolate, but with 2 cups of whole milk and 2 cups of heavy cream, it should be quite decadent!

Carrie and I stopped at Michael's yesterday and I bought several photo albums and keepsake boxes.  I just do not have room to display all the framed photos I have from the past 34 years.  So I will take all the 8x10's and 5x7's and put them in the photo albums and sell the empty frames in the garage sale.  I still have boxes and boxes of stuff that I absolutely do NOT have room for.  Why is it so dang hard to sort through all this stuff?  I know I need to "pitch it", as Eileen says, but I'm down to just the stuff that has sentimental value to me, you know?  How can I pitch all those memories?  Maybe when I get the garage cleaned out after the garage sale I can store some of this stuff out there.

I really didn't want to do this next thing, but I just had to.  Y'all remember that Butch made me a custom sewing cabinet and also a custom cutting table sized tall, just for me.  Well, I tried cutting out fabric on my bed, and it about ruined my lower back bending over like that.  Can't do it.  And I've got no room (at present anyway) for my custom cutting table.  So I ordered this thing called the "Big Board".  Quilters and sewers take note!  It fits over your ironing board and has a huge surface of 22" x 59".  That's big enough to accommodate decorator fabric!  Plus I can raise the height of the ironing board to where it is comfortable for me.  It was $130, but that includes the shipping, and it comes with the pad and cover for ironing.  https://bigboardenterprises.com/bigboard/

So I'm almost ready to order my fabrics and embark on the next phase of sewing.  IF my family will ever give me a break!

It's damn hot here, but enjoy your holiday sistas!

Vickie-

I saw something like the Big Board at a quilt show recently.  It will do the trick and can be put away when not needed.

My cousins quilt shop is selling something similar made out of oak.  I contemplated buying one when I was there but decided to wait until I get settled in Texas.

Hello again Vickie....It is good that Carrie is laying down with the boys. They probably all need a nap!! Good thing the day is 1/2 over!!

I am happy that your fabric samples have come. I am sure they are beautiful!! Now if you can have your time this week to get started that will be good!!

I hope Christie doesn't need you all the time for the boys. She needs to get back to having back up people and talking to their boss about not scheduling them together. I know it is none of my business but I know how much you need alone time right now. The boys are at ages where they are more active and you don't have the energy to keep up with them. You are still grieving and need time. Please don't take this wrong...I am not trying to run your family. I love you and want what is good for you.

Enjoy your wonderful ice cream....YUMMY!! Your cookout sounds perfect too.

I don't think you are wrong for saving all those memories. I hope you do save them for now. I think photo albums are  great idea!!

I actually have a small box of those things from my ex husbands and other special people. Everything wasn't always bad! One day I will let them go or my daughters can. They will have no idea why I saved somethings but that is fine!

I think that is a great idea getting that Big Board. One of the quilting ladies has one and it sure works great!! Good investment I say!!

Hope you feel a little more relaxed with the boy's sleeping. Enjoy those quiet moments!

Lots of love and hugs...connie d

Do you ever look on eggface's website? She has a lot of protein ice cream recipes. I have never tried them because I don't have an ice cream maker. But some people swear by them. I just don't eat a lot of ice cream because it doesn't agree with me at all ... more than a small cup and I'm in deep trouble. So I don't buy it anymore. If I want some, I go out and get a small cup somewhere.

Vic,

Tell me how how the ironing board board works.  I almost bought one the other day because my cutting table is in storage at my house down in the valley...I had to choose between the cutting table or the kitchen table.

So, I'm not sure exactly how I'll like the Big Board, but it's bound to be better than leaning over and cutting out fabric on the bed!  And yes, Cindi, it's made of wood.  Here's a picture from the web site:

I'm excited to try it!

I'm getting ready to get into the shower and waste some water. I am still using a shower bench so that I can stay in there longer and wash my hair, etc. I didn't go to the movie yesterday because a friend of mine wants to go to the one I really want to see and is making me wait a few days. I went to Target instead and walked the aisles with a ten minute break at the leather chair display. Nothing much exciting to report. I'm eating soup and protein and getting excited about my next food level which will include veggies and fruit. Food is still ruling my life....I remember many years ago trying phenphen and feeling like that was the first time that I never thought about food and that it must be what normal is.... Hmmm. My brain is so broken in some ways.

Hello Julia....I am glad you have that bench in your shower. I use mine quite often.

Sorry about the change of plans with the movie. You did great getting extra walking in. So what movie do you want to see?

To me the hardest part of having to wait to eat certain foods is not having veggies or fruit. I am glad you can have them soon.

Have a good evening...love and hugs...connie d
