Good Morning
Hi, everyone.
It's a little after 1 a.m. and here I am again -- AWAKE. Well, I did sleep for a couple of hours.
I did get some pics of our deck posted. Followed Eileen's instructions regarding putting the pics in MY OH and then copying them from their to a post. Worked like a champ (even I could do it.)
Julia, if you do take a road trip to the Oregon Coast, I understand that Gold Beach is beautiful too. We have never driven that far south but have friends who visit family there and they love it there.
I have a doctor appointment in a neighboring city this afternoon. At least the tourist traffic has really died down now so it shouldn't be too bad getting there.
I am going to make a cup of tea but I'll check back later.
Sweet dreams.

Good Morning Cindy and OFF,
I hope your appointment goes well. Love the deck.
I have an appointment to get my hair cut and then may go get a pedicure. I am sadly overdue. I have what are called eggshell nails, where some curl, and basically wrap themselves around my toes, or fingers. The ones on my fingers break easily. On my toes, I can't see them well to cut and paint them myself.
I have to get going. Hopefully I'll be back later.
Hugs,
Trish

Hello Trish....I hope you enjoy your new haircut...it always feels so good to get those trims.
I can imagine it is harder for you to find shoes that fit well. I have never heard of eggshell nails. I am glad you have your doctor trimming your nails. It can't be that easy to do. Go get a pedicure. You need to do something special for yourself!!
Love and hugs to you...connie d
Good morning Cindy, Trish and all my sistas!
Oh, it makes me so happy to see pictures posted here! I love it! Cindy, your new deck is fabulous!
So, I'm not saying I slept well, but I did sleep a little more last night. Very spotty. An hour or so at a time, but I did sleep.
Today I am tackling the curtains in the front bedroom, which is Mom's sitting room. I already have the material and my bedroom is already a mess with all the sewing stuff I dragged out yesterday, so I figure why not. And besides, these are going to be super simple curtains. Just a rod pocket curtain, which is really nothing more than getting your fabric cut straight and long straight hems on all four sides. Easy peasy. I don't even have to line these because she wants the vertical blinds left in place and these curtains won't have to be pulled closed every night.
The weather is slowly cooling off down here. Yesterday's high was only 97. LOL! As soon as it gets bearable, I'm having this damn garage sale and getting rid of the stuff in my garage! Maybe I'll make a little money, too.
If I can get my garage cleaned out sufficiently, I want to put some more storage out there. I want some of those wire racks that are sized to hold those big plastic bins. They sell them at Lowes and I'm pretty sure I can assemble them myself. I have a good niche at the side of my garage, just right for making a storage area, and it won't interfere with me parking my car in the garage. I will also have to park my little trailer in there (either that or sell it), and I would dearly love to have my big cutting table that Butch made me. I could cover it with a tarp to keep it clean, and I could still use it to cut out big material (like these curtains I'm going to make today) when I need more space. One day, when Mom is no longer living here, I plan to turn the front bedroom into a craft room, and I'll have room for my cutting table then, so I absolutely do NOT want to get rid of it now.
I'm thinking seriously about trading in my current sewing machine and moving up a model. I have an Elna, and it's the best machine I've ever had, but I want one that I can do embroidery on. If Pita turns out to be a girl, I'm doing it for sure. If Pita is a boy, I may wait on it awhile. I need to go to the Elna dealer in San Antonio and check things out. I would also like to be able to machine quilt on my machine. I remember the sales clerk in Tyler telling me I could do that on this machine, but I no longer remember the necessary attachments needed for quilting.
Well, I better get started on those curtains. I'm on stand-by for babysitting this evening. Mike might get off in time to get the boys, or he might not. Chris is closing tonight, so she'll be late. I did tell Chris yesterday that she just needs to leave me alone for several days. I didn't put it quite that bluntly, but I told her. Between her "mystery illness" and the refrigerator crisis, I'm quite exhausted and I don't want to deal with any more of her "stuff" for awhile.
Love you all! More pictures from everyone please!
P.S. I forgot to show y'all my ring that came yesterday. It's the ring I had made with my birthstone and Butch's birthstone. It also has our names engraved on the sides. It wasn't terrible expensive, since it just has synthetic stones, but it's very precious to me! And I was nervous wearing his wedding ring on a chain around my neck. Too afraid of losing it, you know? But this little ring I can wear every day. I love it.
Hugs to you. You are one very talented woman. I could never make cushions without a pattern. I used to sew my clothes about twenty five years ago and was such a perfectionist. I also made curtains too. But sewing cushions without a pattern, never. You are very talented. Sending my love to you and all the girls. Suffering from sinuses issues because of the Florida heat, humidity and yes, my nose hitting the pavement.
