Good Morning!
OOPS..I forgot to add my own post....
Nothing new here. I am just hanging out. I went for a little walk last night. I am trying to get my strength back up. Little by little.
I have decided I am going to start doing the back to basis and very seriously this time. I have had stomach pain for awhile now. This last week was bad. I thought it was the flu. I haven't been able to keep food down. Maybe it is my pouch telling me to stop eating!! I need to try something to get back on track! I am going to dig out my WLS manual and all my information. I hope it helps.
I am still praying that Julia and Carla do well now that they are out of the hospital.
I plan on taking a book and sit outside for a bit before the temp gets too high...it is 72 right now with humidity of 71%...I will try it and see if I can handle the humidity.
Wishing you all a beautiful day!!!
I will check in again later and see who posts or replies.
Prayers for out precious OFF Family and their families.
Special prayers for Vickie...I wonder how things went with Christie last night. I so hope Vickie can find some time for herself. I love you Vickie!! I hope you managed a good sleep last night.
Lots of love and hugs to all....connie d
Hi Connie!
I wanted to share about my eating and it's impact on me since I started preparing for the WLS.
I have been pretty successful in following the dietician's recommendations to eat protein first, then a carb, vegtables or fruit. I have tried to maintain portion control, eat at about the same time daily, and avoid snacking.
But the carbs are an ongoing temptation, and even though I have been able to stay under about 1600/calories a day for several months now I have 'binged' on occasion. And I feel it when I do. I don't feel well after eating food like pizza, fast food or breakfast cereal which is a major trigger for me. I get tired...a different kind of sluggish tired I can't shake, bloated w/a lot of gas, and just overall feel like crap!
This motivates me to get back on track, but still I will 'relapse' once a week or so.
So maybe if you have been off track it is the eating...I knew diet played a huge part in how we feel, but this is one more thing I have learned over the past 6 months.
Good luck!
Kathy
Afternoon...well just found out my sister is in the hospital again AND had another surgery!!!! Another stent put in and hopefully this one will work. She is having dialysis right now I believe...read all this on FB!!!!! Nice family I have!!! Called mom and SHE didn't know any of this either!!!!!!!!!! So help me if I was home my sisters kids would be black and blue!!!!!
Anyhow Connie my hair color is now a medium chestnut brown. I had it this color before. Liked and found it again so grabbed it...lol.
Getting hot and muggy here again and the pop up rain and storms are starting but so far to the south of us...woohoo!!
Need to warm up those ribs for supper I guess...making some fried potatoes and onions to go with them. YUMMMMMM
Eileen sorry to hear of your brothers MIL passing away.
HUGSSSSSSSSSSS
Well, the good news is things are not as serious as I thought. After Maura picked up Taylor I went to the hospital - Jim was still in the ER five hours after arriving - not surprising.
Spoke with the doctors. It is very important that Jim does not miss a single dose of medicine - they can't get him to take it, so they said they would have to do it through a tube....again. We all agreed that he should not have come home from the hospital, he should have gone to a rehab facility. So the plan is to get him back on track, and then send him to a facility that can take care of him, because I'm not able to do it.
Thank you all for your support and kind words. I did not think Jim would be as weak as he was when he came home. I literally had to feed him because he could not manage it himself. Being in a confused state of mind does not help either.
Hopefully, within a few days he'll be in rehab. I have to look into Social Security regulations...I think, but am not sure, that if he is hospitalized for more than 30 days I have to report it to them, and I'm thinking they make payments to the hospital until he is discharged, then he would resume receiving them....I hope this doesn't turn into a nightmare of red tape. Or maybe I should just play dumb....which shouldn't be too hard!
Mary
Good Evening Ladies,
Busy day for a lot of you. I went to church, and only had one Toddler, my grandkids, and their cousins, weren't there at all.
I've done some tidying, and then spot cleaned parts of my living room carpet. Not a lot, just hopefully getting out some high traffic spots.
Vickie, I'm sorry to hear Christie isn't well, and is adding to your stress.
Eileen, I'm sorry to hear about your sister-in-law's Mom.
Mary, I'm so sorry to hear what transpired with Jim over the weekend. I don't understand why he refuses to cooperate with the medical professionals. I can't imagine what it has been like for you. I'm glad he's going to a rehab facility. Good luck with Social Security.
Connie, you know I love you. I hope you are having a good weekend.
Love yas.

Ladies, I swear, if I EVER attempt to cover a 6 ft long (nearly twin size) mattress/cushion again, y'all need to have me committed! SO dang hard to get the thing just tight enough, but not TOO tight! Or too loose for that matter. AARRGGHH!!!
After I finally got the damn thing stuffed into the cover, I found a flaw in one of the corners, but I swear, I just cannot un-stuff that thing and start over. As my mom often says about sewing, "You'll never see it on a galloping horse!" Well, my sofa cover won't be galloping, but hopefully there will be enough pretty flowers and things to look at that no one will notice the cover very much.
Tomorrow I have to pick apart the other 6 ft. back cushion (the one I screwed up a couple of weeks ago; the one I did today was the seat cushion) and try to make a few adjustments to it so that it fits better. I promise to post pics when I am done.
Then the last thing I have left to do are the seat cushions for the cedar rockers. Those should be easy peasy since I am NOT doing the welting on those. I have just enough fabric left to make reverseable covers for those. I might even get those done tomorrow (assuming I sleep again all night tonight).
Anyway, dinner tonight is a frozen pizza and then I'm taking a melatonin, a bubble bath, and an Ambien, in that order! Nighty-night! I love you all!
