Happy Thursday
Hi Ladies,
I came to the library for something to do today. The weather is warmer today. My friend is still gone so I been lonely lately. Im going to Papa Murphy and get a pizza for supper. I know its not the best thing for me since my weight has been going the wrong way lately.
Prayers and thoughts for everyone.
Love and hugs,
Yvonne
Hi, everyone. I sat and read all the posts (so far) for the day. Mary, bento boxes sound like a very good solution. I will have to check Amazon to see if I could get them there. We live in a very small town (10K people) and shopping here is quite the challenge. Carla, I'm sorry you were in such pain through the night and am glad they are keeping you today. Trish, how cute -- Frankie negotiating for a sucker. I'm glad you are feeling better. Connie, sorry you are having a shaky day. Sounds like you are doing what you need to do for you today: resting. I hope you feel stronger soon. Vickie, I can relate to having your landscaping bid be way more than you were anticipating. Maybe working P/T at substitute teaching or tutoring would be good. I'm sorry your experience at the social security office was the pits. It's frustrating to have worked all those years and not be able to get your money. Yvonne, hope you enjoyed your time at the library. When does your friend return?
Well, the countdown for the deck install completion is just about finished. I actually saw the contractor loading up ladders and saws. Oh, boy! And the flooring people came today. So, the painter will be here in a couple days and we'll have a window covering by the second week of September. So, we're good!
Hubby is laying down with a migraine. I'm sure all the pounding and noise from air nailers isn't helping him to relax.
So, I boiled up about 12 pounds of boneless skinless chicken breasts for our dog. This morning he had diarrhea. Talked to the vet. He said no more chicken -- get bison burger patties and boil them up and serve them with cooked broccoli and green beans. I checked to see if the local animal shelter could use the chicken meat -- NO, they can't. Asked the contractor if he had a dog who might enjoy the chicken and he said YES. So, at least it's not going to waste. The good news is that the frozen bison burgers boil up pretty quickly. "Served" the new mixture for lunch and our dog scarfed it up. Here's hoping the diarrhea resolves itself and doesn't require medical intervention. He suffers from Eosinophilic Inflammatory Bowel disease, Cushing's, and Addison's and unfortunately his digestive tract is very tricky to deal with. Oh, but we love him so much he's worth all the trouble.
Well, I guess I'll check on hubby.
Hope you all have a nice afternoon/evening.
Cindy P.
Yeah, the animal shelter won't take anything that isn't packaged from the manufacturer for the safety of the animals. I guess I can understand that -- however, one of the head people there is our dog trainer whom we've known for five years. I thought, because of that, they would take it. I found a good "home" for it though so I don't feel too bad.
Our vet said no rice either. Oh, well, Logan liked his lunch meal so we're all good. Now, to see if his stools improve. . .

Bring up the rear tonite...guess that makes me an ass!
Not much to report. Took care of more office junk, did a few loads of laundry & played on FB.
Mary, good suggestion on the bento box meals. I try to follow Eggface, but I am on the computer too much as it is so I will surf thru so much & then shut it down. I have kept up on my exercising. Like you said it was a beautiful, cool day today on the East Coast so I did not swim. But I walked. so that is good.
Vickie, my opinion is this country is so broke in so many ways & when they increased the age for collecting SS retirement it just floored me! I am in the mess I am in b/c I would be penalized big time if I pulled money from my retirement before 59 1/2 & I can't get my Social Security yet. So I feel you with dealing w/this mess at a time you should be able to relax and recover from Butch's death. Hopefully you have assets or other holdings to tie you over, but I know I will be collecting at 62...at the reduced rate. My sympathies on the daughter problem...we all know how that goes. And then your mom...you are sure getting it from all ends.
Connie, I continue to be concerned about your health. This seems like it has been going on a long time. I hope the doctor can help you b/c geez...didn't know you were THAT old...lol! All kidding aside, feel better!
Trish, love hearing about your grandkids. I so miss when Jasmyn was little. I can't believe I have an almost adult grandchild!
Cindy, that is a heck of a lot of meat...glad it did not go to waste! Sounds like your deck is coming along...I always enjoyed my deck when we lived in the country. Now we have a patio...not the same. Enjoy!
Eileen, you and your brother remind me of 'The Odd Couple' the way you describe how orderly he is and you being more 'relaxed' about how you manage household duties. Also, hope you got the new apartment issue straight as they need to deliver what you saw.
Yvonne, I could go for a pizza. Haven't had one in over a month, and it had been a pretty long time before that...you always remind me I need to check to see when my books are due. I have made our library a little richer over the years with the fines I've accrued!
As usual, I am forgetting ppl...bad enough during the day, but by this time of night my bed & book are calling me!

Sending my best thoughts to you, Mary. I love Eggface's site. I am trying, like you, to climb back on the wagon, haven't had regain, but started getting hungry again 30 pounds from goal. I am too old to have the DS, which my doctor on the other side of the state now offers, so gonna have to white knuckle it. Sending my love and prayers to you. Stay strong an be there for you. You are the only person in your life that you have control over. Bless you.
To all on the blog I have forgotten, I think of you ladies daily. And Vicki, my heart hurts for you. I had to retire early because of the bad economy in 2010 and the benefits were cut forever. I now live in low income housing in Port St Lucie with a roommate. Life is what it is, mine has not always been easy, I suffer from anxiety and take medication for it. But all in all, I have a wonderful daughter, wonderful former inlaws where I live now and get to see them often. So I thank God for the good in my life. To Connie, I am so sorry that you are always in pain. Should not there be a cure for fibro? Sending blessings to everyone.
