Sunny Summer Sunday
Awwww Judy...I am so sorry your family is not treating you well. I do understand. Not all families are wonderful!!
I see my twin about twice a year. My sister.. I talk to on the phone maybe twice a year (remember all the things she did to me....throwing me out at 10:30 at night in the winter). Why would I want to talk to her!! She cares a lot.....NOT!!!!!! My family (brothers and sisters) live within a 5 mile radius of me...one only a few blocks away. I don't care if I ever see them again. Once my mom was gone it was all over. I don't go to any of their occasions ever!! Another reason for me to move!!
Come live by me...I will be your family!!!
I will be praying for good weather for your traveling this week.
More love and gentle hugs.....connie d
Good Morning,
I have a quick check in here.
Friday, I ended up not making it to the fair, but went yesterday. But, Friday night, I did spend the night at Colleen's, watching Izzy. We went to Chili's for dinner, then Petsmart to get some stuff for Utley. Colleen and the boys went to Kalamzoo, coz she had a mini-triathalon yesterday with her sis-in-law. Then, Izzy got picked up for a Girl Scout trip to an amusement park. After her tri-, Colleen joined her at the park.
After my morning at the fair yesterday, I came home with a sinus/migraine headache. I was useless.
I have to get to church, then clean.
Must scoot
Love,
Trish

Hello Tri**** sounds like you had fun with Izzy. I love Chili's, I wish we had one here. The closet one is 1.5 hours away. Not driving and all I won't be getting there anytime soon. I bet Izzy loved Pet Smart too!!!
I am glad you finally made it to the fair. So sorry those darn headaches and sinus issues won't leave you alone. That am sure that did wear you out!!
Love and lots of hugs....connie d
Hello dearest sistas!
Yes, I am sewing again today, but finally beginning to have a few finished things to show. I am not the fastest sewer by any means (Jeannie, you astound me!), but I am quite the perfectionist. I won't let the slightest little flaw go by, so I end up ripping out and re-sewing some things over and over again until I get it just right. LOL!
Anyway, I have made yards and yards and YARDS of piping the past two days. No joke. I started out with a reel of 36 yards of cord, and there are less than 5 yards left on there! But I love the look of contrast piping on cushions! Here are some of the things I've finished this weekend:
Of course, what I'm really doing is avoiding making the huge sofa cushions because I already managed to EFF one of them up! Gag. I'm probably going to have to go buy more material, but I'll see if I can salvage some of it. I never have been very good with putting in zippers, and I'm afraid a 6 ft. zipper was just beyond me. Mom says no one will see it at the back of the cushion, but I'm just not happy with it. Grrr.
I was going to go to Nacogdoches on Tuesday, but now I'm thinking I might wait and go on Wednesday. That way I can have all day tomorrow to sew some more, and I can pack and get ready on Tuesday.
Well, my break is over. I need to go tackle that big cushion while I still have the bright daylight to sew by. I can no longer see well enough to sew at night.
Love you all!
Hello Vickie...you sure have been busy!! The cushions look wonderful and so are the pillows!! I noticed the yellow piping right away. That was a really good color choice!! Like I said on Facebook...I love the pillow with the birds across it!! They are so darn cute!! I really like the pocket pillow too!! I hope you got a lot more done today on the large cushions!!
I hope you have a good evening. Hopefully you are sleeping somewhat better.
I love you my friend....HUGS...connie d
Good Afternoon Kathy and everyone....
We had a heat wave here this week. The humidity was awful. I haven't even been able to be outside at all.
Jazz starts school next week. I am sure she will be glad to be back with her friends again. Parents always love when they go back in the fall. The house gets quiet for a few hours again! I personally loved having my daughters home. They grow up too fast!
I am glad you had fun at your niece's yesterday. Sorry your daughter couldn't make it. Hopefully you will see her today.
Do you surf too? I can't even imagine doing that!!! I wish I lived near my daughters. I miss out on so much. Especially when I can't drive.
As for me... I am better today...yesterday was the worst....I cried most of the day. Chuck is still on my mind. At least I can think clearer today. I had a quiet day yesterday. I miss him so much I hurt.
Yesterday I made a stir fry meal. I cut up all my fresh peppers, onions, carrots, mushrooms, peas and cauliflower. I had made some turkey in the Crock Pot so that went in the stir fry too. Seasoned it all and let it simmer. It smelled great but I couldn't eat much. I had some today for lunch and it was good.
Wishing you all a good day!!
Prayers for our fantastic OFF Family and their families.
Some special prayers for those in need.
Much love and many hugs to all....connie d
Hi Connie!
I have mixed feelings about Jazz being home vs. heading back to school. I really enjoy her most of the time, but when she is bored she wants all my attention and it gets tiresome. I will be glad for school to occupy her in that regard. But on the other hand she is going into 8th grade, and I know from my 3 daughters that is the beginning of them becoming very independent. I dread that! This world is so much scarier than it was when our kids were young! All we can do is remain vigilant & pray...
LOL...no way in hell can I surf! My brother & niece's husband both have had boats for years and are kind enough to take us out. I enjoy the boat rides, but when I get my weight off I want to go tubing. They pull the tubes behind the boats at about 40 mph! All the kids love it.
I make a stir fry meal at least once a week. I do use a sauce for sweetening, but still I consider it to be a healthy meal. Leftovers are always good...until you get sick of seeing them in your fridge or freezer for days on end!
Feel better about your friend. As I get older I really believe those who have passed got the better end of the deal. It's hard to be left behind when you get older & there seem to be more loved ones on the other side than here...
Kathy
Hi Kathy......I understand why you feel like you do about Jazz and school. Things sure have changed everywhere. She is in 8th grade and she does need to know how things really are. All you can do is to talk with her and explain your concerns. She seems pretty close to you. I don't think you will need to worry about her not being honest with you. It is hard to let them go. You need to do what is best for her. I think you have already made that choice.
Tubing is definitely a better idea then surfing...LOL!!!
Thanks for caring...these last two days have been hard.
More love and hugs...connie d
Hi Kathy and my OFF family:
Well, my brother is getting settled in my apartment. He's already getting a little bossy. He says he needed space in the bathroom. I said what do you need? Do you need a drawer? He says, well, yes. (Damn, why don't you just say that?) So I cleared out a drawer. No prob. He says he needs a place for his toothbrush. Well, I have a toothbrush holder in there with six slots ... I pointed to it. "I didn't know if there was room there" (I have two toothbrushes there and a shaver ... so three empty slots ... duh!). Men!
Other than that, he's been OK. He is very organized and neat and I'm a slob. It's the way it is. I'll try to keep my mess in my bedroom from now on. We went out to breakfast this morning and then came home ... he didn't feel like getting his computer out so I let him use my old slow computer. I cleaned out a box of stuff while watching the White Sox game (they won!) and then went to work. It's quiet so far. But I'm really sleepy. Trying to stay awake. Need something to do.
Jeannie and Vickie, you are so crafty with your sewing. I took sewing in high school and made my own uniform blouses. But I haven't sewn in ages. (No sewing machine, for one.) It's nice, Jeannie, you're giving clothes to the closet ... they have that here for kids who can't afford clothes and shoes.
Connie, I hope you're doing OK. The stir fry sounds good. You can always freeze it and eat it later.
Judy, sorry to hear about your mom and sister. Swinging chickens for them and you.
Can't remember everyone else. Have a good day.
Eileen...Rick USED to be Mr Clean....but I reminded him it is MY home also!!! So now its NOT a clean home anymore...I miss it...but after both of us working 24/7 we don't give a rip anymore!!! At times we do and we try but we are worn out to really clean good you know? He will adjust in time I am sure...hang in there!!
Thanks for the swinging chickens!!!
