August 15 Already . . .
Good morning. I was awake most of the night. Have had a headache I can't shake. So, I finally got up. I think I'll make myself a cup of tea in a few minutes.
Special thoughts and prayers for Connie today.
I don't seem to be able to think clearly lately. What's up with that? I tried to post some messages on Facebook yesterday and was getting all confused. I've sent dozens of messages there before without a hitch but yesterday I couldn't figure out how to do it. Ha Ha
Hope that you all have a good day today.

Good Morning Cindy & All Ladies to Follow!
Sorry you did not have a good night's rest. I am not worth anything if I don't get my sleep!
I have had issues, too, where I will not be able to remember a command or something similar on FB or another computer-like device. I blank out for a minute, but eventually it comes to me. I am also awful w/names now. I worry about my memory at times given my dad had Alzheimer's, but when I talk to others about this it seems to be fairly common as we age...
Ugh!
I, too, hope Connie is feeling better. Depression is such a dark hole to climb out of & then the physical pain just adds to it. wish I could do something!
I have to get ready for my nieces b-day party for her daughter. The whole family will be there so it should be a good time. An hour drive, but the scenery is beautiful and it is on the Chesapeake Bay.
Everyone have a good day!
Kathy
Good morning Cindy and Kathy and all my sistas,
I know I've been MIA the past few days. Not to worry. I've just been sewing and babysitting. Hope to have some pics to post of my new outdoor cushions by late today or tomorrow.
I have all day today and tomorrow to sew without interruption. Except for my headache! Cindy, I feel your pain. Oy vey.
I haven't been sleeping at all for days now. So last night I finally gave in and took an Ambien (from one of Carrie's Rx) and I slept until 6:30 a.m.! First time I've slept all night straight through in weeks. I think I'll call my doctor on Monday and see about getting my own Rx.
This morning I finally started back on that Thrive stuff. You know, the WL stuff that Carolyn's (Grammylew) daughter is selling. I had started on it last spring, but then Butch got so sick and I have two months' worth that I never even opened the box. So I'm trying it again today. I have to do something. I'm almost out of wonderland and I feel like crap because all I do is eat crap all day long. Time to put on the brakes and turn it around.
We had some rain this week! Whoo hoo! After days and days of triple digit heat, we are finally getting a little relief. Not from the humidity, mind you, which is insanely high. Yesterday's heat index made it feel like 109 F (when it was only 102 F--LOL!), but my grass was so grateful for the moisture! You know that sucking sound a straw makes at the bottom of the glass? Yep! LOL!
Well, I've been reading all the posts. Connie! I'm so sorry you fell, darlin'! I know there are other things going on, but I need to start my sewing before I lose the mood. I'm an early morning crafter.
Love you all!
Vickie, can't wait to see the photos of your porch cushions! We've had high humidity here as well. Makes it hard to breathe sometimes! The air just feels so heavy.
Glad you found something that works for you sleep wise. Not sleeping sucks.
Enjoy your sewing time today and tomorrow (I know you will).

Greetings to everyone from Connie! She is taking care of herself today - puttering in the kitchen and relaxing. She said she will find a movie to watch and hopefully get a little sleep too. Connie sends her love to our wonderful OFF family and is saying special prayers for everyone here.
I'm sure you join me in sending warm and gentle hugs to Connie today as she grieves the loss of her dear friend, Chuck, who passed away four years ago. He meant so much to her and her heart is filled with sadness today.

Afternoon OFF family....it is HOT here!!! Well maybe not as hot as it is where Vicki is at but it is HOT here for me!!! LOL Went to the bank and put our checks in, then went past the fairgrounds...well we went to the fair after all...didn't stay long!!! TOO DAM HOT!!!!! Why couldn't we go earlier in the week when the temps were lower????? DUH????? Saw some horses made me happy...got to pet a few also!!! Got some fries that were actually GOOD!!!!!! Brought home some Indian Bread...YUMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!! Just finished eating that and boy was it good!!! We also stopped at Menards and also Walmart. Bought Rick's mom a twin sized air bed that she had mentioned she would like for when she travels places and no beds...hope she likes it. Also got her the air pump. Merry Christmas and Happy Birthday.
Watching the Mid Ohio NASCAR race. This race is just around the corner from us. Why didn't we go to it? It is a road course race and seeing it from there sucks!! Plus tickets cost ALOT!!!!!! No Thanks!!!!!! Watch from home. I do not like road course races anyhow. And not to mention it IS HOT OUT THERE!!!!!! LOL
Nothing else happening today...need to get my laundry done IF & WHEN the laundry room becomes available for me to use....hate always going after hours!!! But if I have to I will!!!!! It needs to get done!!!!
Thoughts & Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Good afternoon Cindy P and OFF-
Cindy sorry you couldn't sleep. I hate when that happens. I had a script for Ambien that I used for a while but haven't needed it in quite some time. Sometimes our brains can't relax and have to keep processing. Have not had insomnia in a major way since recovering from my hysterectomy.
Well today I went to the big city of Houlton Maine to the quilt show with a friend. She is a quilter and we make this an annual event for the past few years. It was a nice show much better than the Maine state show in my opinion. More of the normal quilts and less of the art quilts.
Yesterday I drove to Bangor to get the car serviced and it was not a good day. While sitting in the customer lounge they came in to tell me someone had backed into my car. We exchanged insurance information and I just racked it up as another life lesson but from there it went downhill. The service manager then informed me that I needed brakes and that my tires are so badly cupped that they won't rotate them. Now the brakes didn't surprise me as I have 134000 miles on the vehicle, its about time for brakes but the tire thing did. I had that repaired in the spring in Texas allegedly with an alignment. They checked the alignment and it was out according to them. Anyway, it's only money I suppose but in two weeks I will go back for a brake job, new tires, wheel alignment and to repair when I impaled the front mud flap on a tree branch destroying the wheel well. Fortunately the man who backed into the car has the same insurance company as me. I sat in the customer lounge and filed my insurance claim. Before I left the dealer the adjuster had already contacted me by phone and recorded my "statement". What kind of statement can you give when you didn't see the accident. Anyway, I'll have to drive back down to Bangor for the repair estimate. So there are several trips to Bangor in my future.
Solved the mystery of my high data usage on my wireless hotspot. I had forgotten that last month and last week I attended two webinars using the laptop. Apparently that chewed up my data plan. So another life lesson: while technology is grand it's expense if you are not hard wired to the Internet.
Vickie, can't wait to see the pictures of the cushions. If you're good at cushions would you make some for me if I bought the materials? I want to redo all my cushions on my porch furniture when I get to Texas. I can get the sunbrella fabric here in Maine at a really cheap price.
Kathy hope you enjoyed the birthday gathering.
Connie hope you're feeling better soon. Depression is hard and I relate as I suffer from clinical depression. There are good days and bad.
Judy glad you got a horse fix. I was a horse crazy girl. I still enjoy them but no longer ride after getting thrown in college. I still enjoy watching the horse shows once in a while.
I almost bought a longhorn cow and calf pair last week. I love the longhorns and their history. I've wanted one for a long time but ranchers in Texas won't sell their cows and I want a cow not a steer or bull. My cousin's husband has beef cattle in Ohio and works at the local stock auction. Apparently someone in Ohio is selling longhorns. Cousin's hubby bought three pairs. I told them I'd be a silent partner and gave them my color requirements. Unfortunately, this week no longhorns at the auction. Oh well, maybe next week. A cow will pay for herself with calves each year, thus the reason I wanted a cow. Longhorns are good calvers too. And if she's not productive we can always make her into a rug! I know, I'm certifiable. Live in Texas and buy a longhorn in Ohio!
Well hot and muggy here today so I think I'll close and go get into the lake to cool down.
Thoughts going out to all of you who need them.

Hi Cindy and my OFF family:
Sitting here waiting for something to do. I get here early but I'm the last to get anything to do. I don't understand that.
Anyway, I got most of the stuff ready last night. I had to send the high school football section when I got in here. Saw my brother post on FB that he's in town. Glad he made it.
Slept til 11 a.m. and felt very rested. Now I'm starting to get sleepy, probably from boredom.
Hope Connie is doing OK. Vickie, glad to see you're back and doing OK. Do what you need to do to get through. When my dad died, I was in Illinois visiting after moving out to Montana. I came back to Montana and everyone was so nice to me. One family invited me for a father's day cookout. I thought that was very nice to include me in their family.
Well, I should see if I have any stories yet. Maybe the NASCAR race is done. Have a good day.
