Monday, Monday
Good morning - albeit a little early on the West Coast but I can't sleep so here I am. Hope you all had a restful night.
This morning we have an early haircut appointment and after that we're headed to the grocery store. Tomorrow will be an arduous day as we have to drive to the valley very early in the morning as hubby has an 8:45 dr. appt. After that, we'll go to Costco and Home Depot and then we have to kill time until his 3:00 appt. with an endodontist for two root canals. Ugh. We will leave our little dog home as it's too warm in the valley to leave him in the car for very long so he will have the dog sitter to come and check on him and take him on walks, etc. He loves her so he'll be happy with that arrangement.
I will be seeing my dr. on Wednesday and am planning on talking to her about my medications. This not sleeping thing I've got going on has got to stop.
I'm one of those pesky lurkers *****ads all the posts on OFF every day but rarely post myself. I've been visiting this forum since '04 and feel like I know you all. Hugs and prayers for those that need or want them.

Good Morning Cindy P and OFF-
Cindy sorry you are having trouble sleeping. I had that issue for a while but lately sleeping has not been an issue. Hope the doctor can adjust your medications to improve your sleep. I had to reduce my antidepressant to improve my sleep patterns about a year after surgery.
Got an email this morning that they want to show the house tomorrow. Finally! So today will be focused on mowing the lawn, doing laundry and cleaning. I've had this hanging on my head since I got here and I've been frustrated with the realtor so this is progress.
Tomorrow is also the conference call with my financial planner. We will continue to discuss whether I should take the pension buyout offer from my former employer. That's been hanging on my mind as well.
So with that I'll close for the day. Eileen hope you get the energy you need to begin packing. If I was closer I'd come over and help you pack. I'm getting good at it. Connie hope you feel better today after a busy weekend with family that appears to have worn you out. Vickie I can relate to hanging pictures making it feel like a home. I am reluctant to pack my pictures because I know that the house will feel strange. Kathy please don't feel nervous about your surgery, it's a normal thing but you've made a major life decision and your nearing the end of your prep journey. Thoughts going out to the rest of you.

Afternoon Cindi, Cindy, and Carla and all my OFF sistas,
I am working hard and making progress, but oh my! I have so much sewing and craft stuff! It's insane. What am I going to do with it all??? I have been steadily unpacking, sorting, and storing things all morning long. I have managed to get some things stored properly, but unfortunately I have a growing MOUNTAIN of items in the middle of the floor that I have no idea what to do with!
At my big house in Nacogdoches I had an entire craft/sewing room with a huge closet and built in cabinets. I just THOUGHT I purged it before I packed all of this stuff up 4 years ago. Ha! What to do, what to do? Purge again? Maybe. But it's such GOOD stuff! LOL!
Anyway, it's keeping me busy, and that's a good thing.
I'll be going to Waco tomorrow morning. Carrie's OB appointment is at 3 p.m., so there's really no reason for me to drive up this evening. I can drive up in the morning, spend one night, and drive back home on Wednesday. I'm very excited to hear the baby's heartbeat! I don't think we'll find out the sex this time. I think that happens around 16-20 weeks. She is 12 weeks along right now, so another month of suspense! LOL!
I found all my little crocheted baby things this morning. I used to have a little store on Etsy before we moved from Nac. So I have little sweaters and caps and booties and dresses, etc., already made up in a variety of sizes for both boys and girls. We'll see what we are having before I start gifting any of it. I have a cousin who is having a little girl in Oct. And my BFF's DIL is having a little boy in Nov.
I also have a ton of preemie things. I actually had two stores on Etsy: Little Lamb Layettes, and Teeny Preemies. I don't know if I'll try to sell the preemie things or just donate them to the San Antonio hospital that has a big NICU. I do need them gone. I just don't have room!
I am seriously thinking about getting into making baby quilts. I'm going to make one for Budder and one for Pita this fall. We'll see how it goes, but if I discover I like it and have a talent for it, I'm thinking about selling them on Etsy. I also like to make flannel receiving blankets with crocheted edges. I'll have a lot of fun making those things for Pita, but then I might enjoy just making them for the fun of it, too. We'll see.
A couple of years ago I bought some small quilting patterns that I never got the chance to try. One is a Texas themed wall hanging. The other is an autumn themed table runner. Maybe this fall . . . !
I still haven't made myself deal with any of the business stuff I need to do. This is not like me at all. I suppose it's part of the grieving process. Seems so very final to start mailing out the death certificates and getting things changed into my name alone, etc. I know I need to do it. Just like I have to go to Nacogdoches next week and deal with probate and other issues. I'd much rather think about sewing and crocheting, so that's what I do. Sigh.
I find myself wanting to get a new puppy, but I'm not going to do that. Lord above, I'm fixing to have a new little baby in a few months' time. I can NOT get another dog right now! Still I keep scoping out the rescue pages on-line and finding myself pulled in that direction. Sometimes I wonder about my sanity.
Well, my lunch break's over. I need to get back to my boxes! I must say, the house already looks more like my home since I hung just those few things yesterday. (I posted about that late last night; I won't repeat it now.) I'm eager for my entertainment center to be delivered and to finally, finally get my living room in order. There will be a great deal of unpacking and purging to do there as well. As I glance over my shoulder into the living room, I count a full dozen boxes piled up along one wall waiting to be unpacked! What the hell am I going to do with all of that stuff?! And it's things like photo albums and framed pictures and other keepsakes that I simply cannot do away with. Sigh.
And I have another big pile of Christmas stuff in the entry hall that I just simply do not know where to put it all. I think I may have to have some storage cabinets added to the garage, but that will only solve part of the problem. Some of these things have to be kept inside or they'll ruin in the god-awful Texas heat! 106F yesterday. And easily 120F+ in my garage yesterday afternoon!
Okay, now I'm leaving for real! Love you all!
Vickie, you are getting a lot done! I loved the photos of your new hutch. What a beautiful piece of furniture that is!! I look forward to seeing your porch cushions when you get them done. My mother-in-law loved to sew in her younger days. She made all her clothes, curtains, etc. I wish I were that talented. I remember I took sewing in high school. We were assigned to make a blouse. I got my pattern and put it together but I did something wrong with the sleeves (can't remember the specifics) anyway, I was told to rip the stitches out and redo it. I hated the whole project so much I cut the blouse to smithereens and I got an "F" in sewing. Ha Ha. I guess I was a bit impetuous.
We'll have to have something to eat before hubby's dental appointment as he will probably just want something cool to drink after it.
I didn't see that you were up on f/b -- we could have chatted! It was definitely one LONG night.
