Sunday Greetings
Quick check in.
Packing and getting ready for my two nights away. Not sure if I'll be able to post on Monday. I'll be home Tuesday night, so I'll definitely be back then.
Hope everyone has a great Sunday.
Carla, glad you got to Denver safely.
Vickie, I'm glad your Mom is okay with Carrie's pregnancy. Love the party pics. How did they like the Minions? I loved it.
Must scoot.

HUGSSSSSSSS
Good morning Trish and OFF-
Trish I hope you have a wonderful time on your mini vacation with the grandchildren. Can't wait to hear about your experiences with the the cabin and campground.
Judy so happy that the water problem is the city and not something that you have to worry about. Glad Ricks mother has already departed and you have the rest of the day to relax.
I'm going to try to figure out why my data useage tripled last month and is on its way to tripling again this month. Simply cannot afford have a $400 cellphone bill. Something is up and the only thing I can think of is that I'm playing online games more while in Maine or that I'm picking up an international tower in Canada. So on the list of things to do is call Verizon and ask them to check. Meanwhile shutting all WIFI devices off and going to focus on packing rather than playing candy crush, farm heroes, pet rescue, and candy crush soda repeatedly all day. So many things to do and I sit with the computer on my lap doing nothing. Gotta get out of this funk!
Thinking about all of you and hoping you are having a great Sunday.

Hi Cindi!
I read your post yesterday about the FB posting on Verizon dropping their cell phone plans, and now am reading about your increased data bill...
We decided to drop all our services through them b/c of various problems like the data issue. We had FIOS TV w/the DVR's, 2 cell phones, and internet. It seemed that every few months we were catching an increase on our bill. FIOS would go up & it was always related to 'rising delivery or surcharges.' The cell phones would mysteriously switch over to 3G rather than Wifi & we would be billed for exceeding our data, the cost of the internet would also increase, but again no explanation! The bill was never standard every month...it was always 'off' for one reason or another.
I can't deal w/that. I like to know what my monthly expenses are going to be...within reason. I know my electric & heating bills will fluctuate, but this was getting out of hand. Our bill went from about $200/mo to well over $300. We have a very small mortgage on our house since we did a short term & paid almost all cash, and here the V bill is almost as much!
I hope you find out the problem. Like I said in our case we were not using more data, but somehow when we used data our phones or tablets had switched off Wifi. It could have been us old fogies doing something to cause this, but I don't think so.
I, too, can get mindless on the computer & procrastinate about other, more important duties. I am addicted to Trulia looking at beach houses I cannot afford from here to California...on the Gulf, etc.! I feel your pain...lol!
Kathy
Good morning sweet sistas!
Well, this morning we made our first visit to a new church. It was different: Grace Community Church. I was raised southern Baptist, and while I don't mind trying out different churches and denominations, this one was a little too different for all of us. It is a "modern" church, and there were definitely some aspects of it that we liked. It was a very casual church, lots of shorts, jeans and flip flops. Mom and I were waaay overdressed. There was a lot of contemporary Christian music, too. I love music, but I am partial to southern Gospel. The children's church was nice, too. But overall, it just isn't a good "fit" for us. We'll try another church next week.
And poor Carrie was miserable throughout the entire service: heartburn, gas, nausea. Lord, I wouldn't be pregnant again for anything! LOL!
Today Carrie is going to help me hang a couple of my bigger pictures. I have a very large Monet print (waterlilies-my favorite!) than I want to hang in the dining room. And I have a very large mirror that I want to hang over my little table in the entry hall. Also, I want to move those 3 big boxes of Butch's clothes out to the garage. I can move those using the dolly, but I need someone to help guide me through the tight spots.
Baby steps every day.
Mostly, though, I just want to sit and crochet. I finished making all the little granny squares that will form the border to the one big granny square that forms the center of the blanket. Now it's time to put it all together. I already sewed the little grannies into four strips. I just have to join the strips to the main center square and then design some kind of border.
Jeannie, I used to teach crochet classes at the Hobby Lobby in Nacogdoches. Maybe I'll think about doing that again. I did teach one man, but mostly my students were women. I learned to limit the class size to just 5 students. Anymore than that and it was too hard to give the individual attention needed to beginners.
I'm very much looking forward to getting my sewing corner in my bedroom organized and functional. Since I cleaned out the big master closet, I've more or less turned it into a dressing room. I love it. I have a small lingerie chest and other storage pieces in there. I even had room for a small chair. It's the biggest closet I've ever had. Anyway, the point is that I've decided I really don't need hardly any of the storage space in either the chest of drawers or the dresser in the master bedroom. So I'll utilize those pieces to hold all of my sewing supplies. I think I'll be able to get it all organized and "out of sight" when I'm not sewing. My sewing cabinet (the one that Butch made for me) fit just fine in the corner of my bedroom, but I didn't know where I was going to put all of my stuff. Now I think it will all work out just fine. I just wish I had room for the beautiful cutting table he made me. It's still out at the lake house. I don't want to give it up, but I don't have room for it here. Maybe I can store it in the garage under a tarp, IF I ever get the garage cleared out.
I'm ready to start sewing, and I have so many projects! First of all, I want to make my new outdoor cushions for the back patio. I have the fabric and the cushions here. Just haven't had time to work on it.
I also am ready to start making curtains for this new house. The previous owner used vertical blinds and valances. I'm not a big fan of the vertical blinds, even though I know they were very expensive. I'll keep a few of them, but want to do away with the ones in the living room for sure. And oh! the valances she left me are atrocious. Brown velvet with fringe! Ugh! Not my style AT ALL! I like blue and white toile and checks and stripes! I plan to make new curtains and drapes for every room in the house. That will keep me busy for weeks.
And then, of course, it will be time to sew for baby! I'll be making all the nursery linens and curtains and things. That will be a real joy for me! I made all of those things for Benny, including a few stuffed toys as well. I do love to make baby things!
I surely do hope little Pita Piper is a girl! I would adore to have a little girl to sew for. Christie just will not let me make a thing for the boys. Oh, she'll let me BUY things for them, but a homemade article of clothing? No way. She's such a clothes snob.
Well, enough of my chatter today. Cindi, I sure hope you find out the cause of your ginormous bills! I've got to change my phone plan next week. I just paid the last bill and it was over $200. I've been really dragging my feet to deal with all the financial things since Butch passed, but the time has come. I just need a single phone plan just for me. Hopefully I can find a good one. Kathy, seems like you're in the same expensive phone plan boat, too! Ugh!
Trish, have a great time camping with your sweet family! I'm sure you'll have tales to tell when you get back.
Judy, I have been meaning to tell you how beautiful the wedding pictures on FB have been. Your son is so handsome and his new bride is beautiful.
Connie, hope your visit with Carrie and the kiddos has been a good one! I know how happy they make you.
Eileen, so happy for you and Gary and your new apartment! It's going to be a good change for both of you!
Mary, I can't remember what's going on with you exactly right now, but love your posts, especially about Miss Taylor. Aren't grandbabies grand?
Christine, have y'all closed on the new house yet? So exciting!
Carla, safe travels, hon!
I'm sure I've left some out. It's been awhile since I've felt up to posting individually, and I've lost the thread on most of you and your lives. I'll get it back.
Love you all so much!
Vic...Brown VELVET in TEXAS???????????????? Umm Ooook...I am with you...get rid of ASAP!!!!!! I like the HINT of Blue with White makes for such a COOLING airy feel!!! Oh Yeah!!!!
Glad you are going to be able to fit the hand made items Butch made you in your room!!! (Now if I could get MY rooms cleaned out I could put a lot in here the right way also!!!)
Hanging pictures...go for it!!! I have NONE up in our apartment. Why? Rick's idea is having the wire SHOWING not hid behind the picture....fights started so NO PICTURES on the walls!!! Can't do it RIGHT....leave the walls empty!!!!
I sure HOPE she has a little GIRL!!!! And the name Pita is pretty!!! So is Piper!!! LOL
Thanks for the compliments on my son and DIL's wedding pictures...I am sure lots more to come when they get them. Wish I could see what we look like!!! LOL
Love you!!! HUGSSSSSSSSSS
Judy, the wires showing??? Oh, hell, no! The man is crazy! LOL!
Actually Pita Piper is our "code name" for the baby. Can you imagine naming her Pita Piper Poe??? LOL! I think the name Carrie has picked out for a girl is very pretty: Cara Lee. If Pita is a boy, she's still not sure yet. So we're sticking with Pita for now. It's too silly for us to get real attached to it, so it's a perfect nickname for now.
(I really do like the name Piper, but Piper Poe just doesn't work!)
Love you!
