Good Morning,

Forgot my allergy med.  Be right back.

Sorry about that.  Within 30 minutes of waking up, I get itchy, and must get my AllegraD into me.

The Detroit Zoo is huge, and exhausting.  There is a train you can take one way for $3 to the other end of the zoo, or back.  We took it as soon as we got there, then ate our lunches we packed at a cafe right near the train station.  The kids had a blast.  Frankie has been especially cranky lately.  He started feeling better at supper on the way home.  The kids got to see a variety of animals, but some weren't available for some reason.  On the way home, we stopped at Tony Sacco's Pizza, and Frankie ate like he hadn't been fed in days.  The kids get a huge piece of pizza dough to play with while they wait for dinner.  Plus, dinner came quickly, coz they use coal ovens.

Needless to say, I was wiped out by the time I got home.

Today, I'm packing, and picking up some groceries for our trip.  Might only be a few days, but I'm excited.

Love,

Trish

Good morning Trish...I wouldn't have lasted 10minutes at that Zoo!! Glad you had a good time!!

Everyone is talking about PIZZA these days. I have been craving it so badly. So far I haven't ordered any. I might this weekend with the kids here!! Good excuse huh?

I hope you have a great time on your little trip. I love little cozy cabins. The idea of a place separate from the others is a good idea. I am always getting up at night and don't like disturbing others. Plus you can read or get on your computer or whatever. I however have a problem of being out in the fresh air and am ready to sleep by 7 PM. No party girl anymore.

Have a good rest of the day...love and hugs....connie d

Good morning Trish....Sounds like you had a blast yesterday...you must be exhausted!!  Hope you had a good recovery.

Eileen.. Congratulations on finding what soúnds like an ideal apartment...that's a huge worry off hour shoulders.  Sorry you are so exhausted.  Maybe things will be better now that your housing is secured.  I have a prescription for Alprazolyn (sp?) for anxiety.  Don't use it much because it knocks me right off my feet!

Cindi I love going to garage sales,..I would never have the energy to run one though!

Judy, Judy...what can I say?  Life on a funny farm must be interesting!

Got to go...Miss Taylor wasnts to help make breakfast!!

Ladies,

I am in and out quickly today.  DH and I are heading to Crystal Bridges to see the Warhol exhibit.  Crystal Bridges is an art museum nestled in the Ozark Mts in NWA and is totally free.   It was built by the Waltons and has some of the most amazing pieces of art and it's free.  We take the kids often but today, it's just us.  We are going to take our time.  When we take the kids, it's hurry, hurry, hurry....they like to go but there are only a couple of exhibits they like...you know, kids!

I have to wait for DH to do some computer work for one of the customers but when that is done, we are out of here.  After the museum, we are going to find a nice quiet, adults only, restaurant and eat in peace.  I take our grandkids out to eat often, but they know how to behave and it kills me when DH and I head to a restaurant that we have reserved and are paying a lot for and someone brings in a kid or kids who act like they have never been in public.  I know; I should be more tolerant but if you have kids and you know they are not behaved, take them to a child friendly place....enough said.

Finally, later today, I am meeting with a geologists friend who is going to tell me about my new fossils that I got in WY...the dinosaur poop...and the one that I think is an open egg with some embryo matter.   We'll see.

So, ladies, have a good day and I hope your days are restful....

Good Morning Everyone!

I've been reading everyone's posts, but have been tied up w/a lot of drab duties that have wasted my time. Therefore, not posting much!

Spent most of Thursday trying to unload our Verizon bundle which is almost as much as my mortgage. We are going to drop them completely & have to pay the early termination fee of over $150...how ridiculous! We are going to T-Mobile for our cell phones & Jim's tablet & Comcast for internet. We had already terminated FIOS a few months ago and went to DISH for the TV. It will be a pain to have 3 separate bills now, but Verizon had so many surcharges & other crap it was a challenge to figure out what we were paying for.

Just got back from yard saling & need to do some cleaning up around here and get in the pool...

Yesterday I had my last dietician & nurse appointment. Now I have the pre-op appt. pending with my surgeon & I should get my date. Do any of you vets remember getting anxious before surgery? I have been gradually noticing my nervousness about surgery increasing the past several weeks, and the past 2 weeks I have not been making good food choices. I manage to stay under my calories, but my carbs are thru the roof! Comfort food! I did lose a couple lbs., but I am disappointed I did not clear my goal of losing 60 by this appt. My anxiety is just in high gear!

It seems like everyone on here has a lot going on...

Vickie - sorry you are having a bad week, but you know it will be up & down. The china cabinet is beautiful! I love the inside lighting as it really sets off your china!

Trish - I used to love taking my kids & Jazz to the zoo. We went to the Philly Zoo a lot...I remember the white tigers they had back in the day. But now that we have no little ones it is not a place I have visited in years. Sounds like you all had a great time. Loved experiencing the wonder of the animals thru the eyes of the kids when they were young!

Eileen - I am really hopeful you will begin to feel better once you get settled in your new apartment & your brother is with you. Plus, it sounds like your new thyroid medication may also be a culprit in you feeling low energy. I never knew my beta blocker caused such extreme fatigue until I mentioned it to my doctor. I had gotten to the point where I was so tired I could not shop at Walmart w/out getting into a handicapped cart. I could not walk the store anymore! You may want to research the side effects or discuss with your doctor.

Cindi - for someone who could not get motivated a few weeks back you have certainly made up for it! You must be feeling pretty good about all the progress you have made! And is real estate that slow up there or is it the realtor? We got stuck w/a real loser when selling our house, but had to deal w/him for the 90 day contract. Hopefully he gets some prospective  buyers in there or at least does an open house!

Mary - good to see you posting. Hope Taylor is helping de-stress you!

Connie - hope you are enjoying your family's visit & get to discuss possibly moving to a warmer climate for your health!

Judy, stop tempting me with what you are eating...smh!

Ok, I know I am forgetting some folks...CRS as usual, but everyone enjoy their day!

Hello Kathy....drab duties...now that sounds like a good time..NOT!!

I am glad you got you Verizon unbundled!! It  will be easier to have three separate bills verses not being able to untangle the one!!! Good luck...I hope it all works out well for you.

You are so close to having that surgery now...good for you!! We all got nervous before our surgeries. You will do great! Nothing to worry about. No more stressing about it....that won't do anything but raise your blood pressure. They won't do the surgery if your BP is way off. See you on the Loser's Bench soon!! I have a place saved for you! As for not losing more weight now, you have done an excellent job. You should be proud of yourself...I am proud of you!! No more beating yourself up sweetie!!!

My daughter and grandchildren should be here anytime now. We need to go over to Shopko. They have some really good items on sale that I need. Mostly cleaning supplies and TP and paper towels. I live less then a mile from there so we won't be gone long.

Go relax in your pool now .....it is your place to destress!!

Have a good rest of the day...love and hugs...connie d

Good morning, sweet sistas,

I am glad to read all the posts this morning.  I am doing a little better today.  Not myself yet by any means, but it helps having my Carrie here.  Something new to focus on, you know?

I'm still crying quite a bit this week.  And the other day I was alone in the car and I just screamed and screamed.  Crazy, huh?  I am never alone.  The car is the only sanctuary I have.  I would give anything to just be left entirely alone for a month.  Not have to see or talk to anybody.  But life doesn't work like that.

My mom and I are not having an easy time of it.  We are fighting a lot.  I'm sorry for it.  It's probably mostly my fault.  But some of it is her, too.  I still don't want to talk about it.

So, this morning I baked Carrie's birthday cake.  (I'm going to post the recipe in a minute.) Tonight we are having her favorite meal: crab legs and shrimp. Carrie took Benny on a "date" to the movies this morning.  They have gone to see "Minions."  Chris, Budder, Mom and I are meeting them in a little while for lunch out.  They want Greek food.  Somehow, I don't think I'll like Greek food, so I'm going to have some tuna fish here before we leave and just drink an iced tea at the restaurant.  Then we are going to a resale shop called "Once Upon a Child" to look for back to school clothes for Benny and Budder, and maybe find a few things for Baby Pita, too!

Yes, Carrie told Mom about the baby last night.  Mom acts like she's delighted, so thank Heaven for that!

Yesterday they delivered my new china buffet and I LOVE IT!  After cleaning it up real good, I got some of my china and crystal displayed in the upper part and it's so pretty!  I have missed having my pretty things.  I still have boxes of things left to unpack.  I won't be able to keep it all, but at least I now have room for the really special things I for sure want to keep.

I got up and made breakfast for Carrie (who said Pita was hungry), but then Pita didn't like the brand of milk I bought and Carrie threw up!  Poor baby.  I never had one bit of morning sickness with either pregnancy.  Carrie is 12 weeks along and still throwing up daily.  When does it end???

Well, I need to close.  This is another busy day.  My days stay busy, but I still can't sleep at night.  So exhausted all the time, but what to do?  I think it is just the grief.  My SIL thinks I have a form of PTSD.  She says the last 14 months were more than tough, and the last month in hospice was traumatic.  Maybe she's right.  And another SIL thinks I need grief counseling.  I don't know.  I think it's just a road I have to walk down, and nothing much is going to make it any easier.  I did send out a family email this morning explaining that I'm just not ready to interact with anyone in person yet.  I need solitude.  Why is that so hard to understand?

Well, better close now.  Love you all!

 Vickie
