Good Morning OFF,

I am moving, slowly, but moving.  Tidying and putting laundry away.  I got a new toy last night.  A weed wacker.  I am charging the battery and will use it later.

Must scoot.

Love,

Trish

Good morning Trish and OFF-

Congrats on the new toy.  I have a electric weed wacker but use it rarely up here in Maine.  I'll be curious to see what you think of your new toy.

Well no decision on the pension buy out program yet.  I have a session on the phone with a Deloitte person to go over my specifics and ask questions.  I did spend two hours on the phone with my financial advisor and we're having another session next Monday to discuss how to make sure that I have a continual stream of funds in lieu of the pension with minimal risk.  I hate that I'm having to go through all of this analysis again since I did it all when I made the decision to retire.  But to frame it in a more positive light, it's good that this is happening because it is making me clean up my financial records and gets my ducks back in a row.

I am a bit frustrated with my Mom today or rather with Kimberley Clark.  My mother is almost totally incontinent.  When she gave up her car I made arrangement for her Poise pads to be delivered on a monthly basis.  Sadly earlier this year Kimberley Clark discontinued the pad she liked and relied on.  Since then we have been "auditioning" other pads and underwear.  She has not found a replacement at this point.  She has so many different kinds in the closet now that she and I are confused on what she has.  She can't read the labels.  She is complaining that everything is like having a wad of cotton between her legs.  She loved her Poise hourglass pads.  So today on the phone we reviewed the alternatives that she has tried so far.  She just doesn't want to commit to something new and this is not going to be a fast decision.  Oh well, I'm learning from the process and will soon be an expert on incontinence products soon.

And still nothing from the realtor about showing the house this week.  I guess I'll just keep packing a little each day and if the boxes start piling up in the big cabin so be it!

Thoughts going out to all of you in your daily trails and tribulations.

Hello Cindi....no decision on the buy out yet. At least you are talking to live people. Keep lining those ducks up!!!!

Oh boy...there are so many kinds of Poise....and yes they did change them. I use a panty liner from Poise. Sometimes if I laugh too hard or sneeze I leak a bit. Dang old age!!! Others here at my apartment building have been complaining about their Poise pads. Those are the ladies that are totally incontinent. I think the company made a huge mistake!! Mine changed a bit in shape. I think they are fine, but then I don't need them like they do!! I hope you find one that works well for your mom.

Have a good rest of the day!!!!

Love and hugs to you....connie d

Cindi, I haven't noticed any change with my pads, but I use the Poise UltraThins ... sometimes I use the store brand instead. But I understand how it can feel funny sometimes. There are times I feel like it's bunched up, too.

Eileen the ones they discontinued were the Ultimate Hour Glass Pads which have an absorbency of 6.  They didn't change the UltraThins because I use those too.  Just frustrated that she won't seem to let the old ones go and try new ones.  By the time I get back to NC she'll have a closet full of pads that she doesn't like but oh well.  I'm learning.

Good morning Trish and Cindi and all my sistas,

Trish, I'm glad you're up and moving this morning.  So sorry you were sick last night.  Ugh.  Good luck with the weed wacker.  Personally, I hate those things.  Be sure to wear safety goggles.

Cindi, I'll match your shed and raise you a garage!  LOL!  Oh, Lord, I have spent the morning in the garage cleaning out, rearranging, re-stacking and generally trying to make some order out of chaos.  I do at least now have the furniture pieces that they will be picking up on Friday cleaned and pulled to the front of the garage.  As soon as those things are gone, I will have a little more room out there.  But for now, I'm wringing wet with sweat and I'm in for the day.  I'll work on boxing up all the garage sale items that are on the dining room table this afternoon.  Mom and I each had a card table, so I set those up in the garage and I'll transfer all the stuff from the dining room table to those two tables in the garage.  Making a little progress at least.

I should have taken before and after pictures of my closet.  It cost me quite a bit emotionally to do all of that, but I'm glad it's behind me now.  As soon as the furniture people get those items out of the garage, I can move the three big wardrobe boxes of Butch's things out there, and I'll be able to at least walk in my bedroom again.  It's a process.  Or maybe a jigsaw puzzle.  Not sure which.

Oh, and I sold that big TV this morning!  And maybe the 4 game room chairs and the end table.  We'll see.  She was going to ask if this young couple wanted them.

I had to LOL at my mom today.  For weeks now she's been insisting that the movers stole her curtain rods and her sterling silverware.  I kept telling her: "Mom they're out there in the garage somewhere."  "No they're not.  I've looked.  They took them."  Now why would anybody want her curtain rods?  And I remembered packing her sterling in a box myself.  I knew it was out there somewhere.  Well, guess what we found this morning!  LOL!  I said, "Now don't you feel silly?"

Well, I desperately need a shower and a change of clothes.  Check back in later.

Love you all!

Hello Vickie.....sorry you had to go through an emotional roller coaster with cleaning out the closet. It is a good thing to have behind you now. I am sure it looks really good!!

You worked really hard on that garage...WOW...no wonder you were so sweaty!! At least now you know where things are!

Sorry your mom was fretting all this time about things being stolen. At least you got a good laugh out of it!! I even laughed over the curtain rods!!

I hope this afternoon is better for you....at least cooler!!

It is great that you got the big TV sold. They take up so much room!! I hope that couple comes and gets the game room chairs and end table. You will definitely have even more room then.

Setting up separate tables will be helpful at your sale. Then your mom can actually see all what of hers gets sold.

Wishing you a little time out later on your patio to read and relax. Sounds good to me. I just remembered...maybe not...your weather is so hot right now. Our weather station here is reporting on your weather every day. I like it hot but the humidity kills me!!

I love you much...HUGS....connie d

Hi Trish and my OFF family:

I was up early to take my car in for an oil change. Then it needed an alignment. No surprise there, because the streets in Evansville are really bad. So it wound up costing me $130. I was going to go to the Y at 11:15 but I was so sleepy I decided to ditch that. I went and got my hair cut ... the girl who did it the last time left it long on the sides and it didn't look good. It's been about 6 weeks and it didn't grow out well at all. This person was a different stylist and she did a better job. Then I stopped off to get groceries. Didn't go to Walmart because I didn't feel like dealing with the crowds. Just went to the grocery store. It was early enough ... and the clouds were getting ominous. Got out of the store just as it started to rain. I had to bring in the groceries in the rain. I'll bet if I had gone to the Y, they would have gotten us all out of the pool because there was some lightning too.

My therapist and I had a good talk yesterday about PTSD ... she said the way to let it go is to continue to talk about it. She gave me part of a workbook on it and I'll read and work on it for the next two weeks (she is having back surgery). I was a little miffed with the office people, however, because when I went to the office, the place was filled with people painting and there were no office people around. So I called the office and was told they had moved and I should have gotten a letter ... well, I didn't, obviously. So then I had to drive back across town on one of the busiest streets (with construction, too) to get to the place that's just about a half mile from my home. I was pretty ticked off.

Anyway, my plan for today is to strip the bed, make chocolate zucchini cake to bring to work tomorrow, baked ziti for dinner and maybe apple muffins. We'll see how much I get done. I'm also trying to get through these boxes and take stuff to Goodwill for donation before Gary moves in. Got through a couple boxes last night.

Well, got to get off the computer and do some work. Have a good day.

Hello Eileen....good thing you got your wheels aligned. I don't think that was a bad price for an oil change and alignment. I am glad I no longer have car maintenance and other costs any more. I do occasional wish I had my car but not very often. I make it work out. When you work you have to have a car.

Sorry you couldn't get to the Y today.

If you are like me when I need a haircut I want it right away. It always seems that one day it looks okay and then BAM...the next day it doesn't want to do anything! I love it short but have decided I am going to let it grow out over the winter. I want it all one length again. Lots of people tell me they miss my long blonde hair. I am glad that person gave you a better haircut.

Sorry about the mix up with your therapist's office. You definitely should have been notified! I am glad she is working you though this abuse. Lots of work to do going through things like that. Take your time. Eventually it will get better.

Have a good evening...love and hugs to you...connie d

Hello Ladies,

Today I am getting workshop materials for the new faculty and getting my new course materials ready. I hate the first of the semester because of all the places that I need to be...oh well.

We have had storms blowing through all day long and it was 66 degrees out a minute ago...perfect recipe for tornadoes.

I read everyone's post but couldn't remember who is doing what...hope all of you have a good rest of the day.
