Good Morning Family,

I posted pictures of Colleen from when she was born, on Facebook.  Today she is 39.

I have to go to her house, coz the kids and I are decorating cupcakes for the luau.

I have to get going.  Busy day.

Love and Hugs,

Trish

Good morning sistas,

Adorable pictures Trish!  And the baby was cute too!  LOL!

I'm up and trying to face the day.  My mom is driving me crazy.  My mom is driving me crazy.  My mom is driving me crazy.

Today I plan to work on more thank you notes.  Sigh.  And I have a new bookcase that I ordered from Amazon that I need to assemble.  It's just 14" wide and the perfect size for my new kitchen.  I need a place for all my cookbooks to reside.

And more crochet, of course!  I'm still working on the granny square afghan.  It's coming along.  And I've started a car seat blanket in lots of pretty bright colors (using up scraps) for Pita Piper.  It's going to be cold in February.  This one has a slot for the car seat buckle so it will fit snuggly around our new baby.  I'm not using pink, just in case Pita turns out to be a boy!    (I want a little girl!)

I bought a book of easy beginner baby quilts to make.  I'm excited to try and make them.  I never did have an opportunity to make Budder a quilt, and now I need to make one for Pita.  I did make Benny a quilt and it was my first attempt and it really turned out rather well, considering I just winged it.

Anyway, I'm considering re-opening my Etsy store and selling baby quilts and receiving blankets.  We'll see.  I think I would love quilting if I ever got the hang of it.

So a full day of projects, which is always a good thing for me.  I do better when I keep, not just busy, but fully occupied.  If I can engage my brain in something new to learn, I can keep the sad away for awhile.

Let's see.  Connie, I did finally get a list of donations from the cemetery fund. No worries. Also, sadly, the little rose bush that Connie and Trish sent didn't make it.  My mom didn't take care of it properly while I was gone to the coast, and I tried to revive it, but it was just too late.  However, two of my oldest friends (known them since we were all in diapers!) sent me 3 more little baby rose bushes and I'm having better luck with those.  I will plant them in my new flower beds this fall.

I posted a lot of the furniture in my garage for sale on an on-line garage sale site, and I already sold the nightstands this morning.  The consignment store is going to take 4 of my pieces (2 of mine and 2 of mom's) to sell.  They are delivering my new china buffet on Aug 11th, and will pick up the pieces they're taking then.  In the meantime, I'm trying to empty out the garage so I can push all the stuff in the house out into the garage.  LOL!  Found out there will be a community-wide garage sale here in the fall, and I want to try and unload all of these small things then.  But I need to sell the large pieces out of the garage first.  It's like a jigsaw puzzle trying to figure it all out.

Besides I can't start my sewing until I get my dining room table back, and it's currently BURIED under piles and piles of garage sale items!

I've been thinking about how I want to decorate this house.  Not that I can get started yet (c'mon garage sale!), but it's fun to dream.  I have always loved lavender and periwinkle blue.  I never could do my bedroom in those colors because Butch refused to sleep in a purple bedroom!  But now I think I might just go there.  And I plan to use blue toile in my kitchen and living room.  I love blue and white.  I have some beautiful fabric that I bought a few years ago that I will use to make curtains for the front bedroom (Mom's sitting room).  I do love to make curtains.

Well, I need to hop in the shower.  Hoping that Judy is having a great time at her son's wedding.  There are others I need to respond to, but I just can't think right now.  I'm sorry for my lack of true participation on the board lately.  I will get back into the swing of things soon.

Love you all!

Well,

Hello Vickie...first of all...yes do open your Etsy Store...that would be good for you for a lot of reasons. You are so crafty and talented. I know you would do well!! That is exciting!!

I love cookbooks and have so many. Kyleigh and Mitch have a few of mine as he loves to cook. They have made many things together! I know Jamie has some too. Little by little they will dwindle away...accept for my favorite ones and those I got as gifts from friends!! No one gets those!!!

I am glad to know there will be a community garage sale coming up. Those are always the most fun to go too. I am sure you will sell a lot as you have so many lovely things!

I love the ideas you have for decorating your house especially your bedroom. I love those colors. Everything will look so beautiful!

I am glad you got the list from the cemetery fund. I did look last night and the check was cashed so I know they got it. I am sorry the rose plant didn't make it. I am glad you still have others to plant!! They sound really nice too!

I love the quilt you posted...very different but very nice!!

Have a beautiful day!! Know I am thinking about you!

I love you...HUGS....connie d

Connie, those fabrics and colors were CHRISTIE'S choice for Benny's baby nursery, NOT mine!  I like pastels and bunnies and duckies!  LOL!

I agree...not for a baby....pastels and fuzzy bunnies and duckies!!

I would love the lavender and periwinkle in my bedroom. I love lavender and I would do the periwinkle as an accent color.

I thought you were talking about your purple bedroom that Butch didn't want! LOL!!!!!

Color me crazy!!!!

Love and more hugs to you...connie d
