Friday ... Let££
Good afternoon Mary and OFF-
I've never had problems posting but just as I type that I'll jinx myself.
Eileen- I agree with whomever posted about have you had your bloodwork checked recently. Your fatique could be low iron. I've been taking Comfort Iron from Vitamin Shoppe. It doesn't constipate me.
Hope Judy and Rick's travel is going well. Saw reports of a major highway accident in Indiana and thought of them immediately.
Connie I hope the headache goes away too. I am excited about Grace visiting you.
Trish you wore me out with all your errands. Sounds like you have a fun weekend planned.
Vickie loved your post on Facebook today. So true, sudden death has a different pain, slow death I believe is more painful. Thank you notes suck remember those from my father's passing. Happy you're picking up the boys. One day at a time my friend, one day at a time. Your emotions are going to be all over the map for a while.
Mary, catch me up who is Maura? I've been off the threads for over a year.
Well today was rainy and cool again. I worked on repairing the screen porch. I had two sections that needed the screens replaced due to holes from squirrels. Despite the cool I was drenched in sweat from doing the work. Shower will feel good tonight.
Tomorrow I'm supposed to go to the Maine Quilt show with one of my neighbors. I've already packed up my quilt fabric stash for the move. I haven't however packed up the sewing machine. We're having a baby epidemic at the Refuge this summer. I have made it a practice to make a quilt for each Refuge employee who has a baby. So with a set of premature twin girls, a boy due at any minute and another girl in the fall I've got a few baby quilts to make. I'll look for inspiration tomorrow but will not buy fabric at the show, too expensive.
That's it from Maine today. My thoughts will be with all of you.

Hi ladies
I am driving home from my customer and golly I am tired. Stopped for a. Iced coffee and really really wanted a snack. Really really wanted peanuts. Really really bad! Had em in my hand but pit them back. I don't need those 250 calories. I will opt for something else thanks!
Feeling virtuous! Hope these new habits and good choices pay off with a good loss this week. I really want to see wonderland before my surgeon visit on 7/31!
Hope you're a) doing great Thinking of you all, praying for you, and grateful for you every day!

I know Eileen, you're right! I love them and they are good for you. However I had already eaten my snack (before driving) and wasn't actually hungry. I was just bored. I have always loved snacking while on long drives. Pre WLS I would have stocked up on chips and popcorn and peanuts and all sorts of snacks before. A 3 hour drive! I've started stopping at this particular gas station on my way home each Friday, to get a half caff coffee (to keep me awake) and to use the facilities... And over the past few weeks I've been buying a small bag of peanuts. Last week it was 2 bags.
I was was starting to drift back into some bad habits, so stopping the peanut habit was an important thing for me this week. It wasn't so much the choice, it was the cir****tances of mindless eating while driving.
So I skipped them and felt really good about that! I guess I should have explained myself... But gosh ij hate typing on my phone screen!

Well Good Evening Everyone! We are back from the flea market that was unfortunately a huge flop! We used to go down every couple years, but for whatever reasons the size of this one has deteriorated. Maybe 20 vendors max! The 'highlight' of the 'trip' was stopping for pizza which I have not had for awhile. Unfortunately unlike Christine w/her peanut temptation I gave in & ate 3 slices to the tune of 900 calories!!! Ugh! It is true nothing tastes as good as healthy feels! Back on the meal plan 2mor!
In reference to the problems on this site I have been on other forums & have not seen this. I am thinking we need to contact Cathy to see what she thinks, but don't want to do so w/out feedback. What do you all think?
Mary, that would be great news if your daughter is expecting! Plus you & Vickie would be able to share all the fun you have along the way! You need to let us know as soon as it is confirmed. It would be especially nice for you as it would prove to be a happy distraction from Jim's health issues just as the timing in Vickie's case is giving her something positive to focus on to take her mind off Butch's passing...
Vickie, I never knew that about saving a post before submitting it. Good tip! I also enjoyed what you posted on FB as it does capture death from both perpectives perfectly!
Cindi, you have been consistently dedicated to getting packed up. The before & after pics are proof of how much progress you have made. Hope you are able to find a buyer before you leave for Texas!
Eileen, I agree those shooting were awful. It just boggles my mind how it seems like NO PLACE is safe or sacred anymore...not even a church! In reference to your fatigue I tend to agree w/Connie that maybe the weather has a lot to do w/it given you have checked out except for the thyroid. In addition to being 'paranoid' about online trolls & ppl running loose w/guns these days I think our air & water quality is not what it was 20-30 yrs ago. Actually, 5 yrs ago! Too many ppl not feeling well...even younger folks. You also keep a busy schedule most days! You may not be able to walk 25 minutes at 1 time, but you are on the move a lot! Take care!
Connie, continue to pray you feel better & your visit this weekend will be just what the dr. ordered!
Christine, always nice to sign on & see your post! Glad to hear you were able to make a good decision about the peanuts. Small victories lead to big successes!
Jazz's mom came by this afternoon & decided to take Jazz home w/her. She will stay there until Sunday afternoon when my other daughter will pick her up to spend a few days w/her. This daughter is Jazz's godmother & she is an angel about spending time w/her at least once a week! She plans on taking her to the State Fair & one of the State Parks for some outdoor fun. I plan to join them one day & we will hopefully make it to the beach! I don't think Jazz has been away for longer than a couple nights so this will be kind of difficult for us. But she is getting older even if we have tried to shelter her. Time to start letting go a little at a time!
So who knows what Jim & I will get into!
I will sign off now to get my hands dirty. The front gardens need some weeding & it is fairly cool out. Everyone have a good evening!
Kathy
Kathy, pizza isn't so bad, all things considered! Just right back on track tomorrow and you will be fine. Like you said it's the title victories that add up to winning the war! And you are doing AWESOME!
Xo,
christine
