I am just feeling sick....I just heard that a good friend of mine, Lucy Culpepper lost her husband, Randall today. I am just heartbroken for her and their children and grandchildren.

A wonderful couple, in their late 40s or so. He was so kind and gentle to everyone. Randall was a minister in Alabama. A great man of GOD.

They haven't yet posted why he died. It happened fast.

I am praying for Lucy and the family. Lucy is from here in the Twin Cities. I am just shocked!!

Please pray or send good thoughts to Lucy and their family...I would appreciate that very much. Thank you!!

Now another funeral I can't get to.

Love and hugs to you all...connie d

Dear Connie -- Another loss to deal with.  You give so much love and support to others, I'm sure you feel these losses very deeply and are very saddened by them.  Sounds like Randall was a great man.  Did he and Lucy have children?

My uncle and Mother used to debate about whether it was better to have a heart attack and die suddenly, or be ill for a period of time so your family could prepare for their loss.  My Husband died suddenly and unexpectedly; my parents both suffered from F'ing cancer - my Father suffered over six months, and my Mother died within a month of her diagnosis.  I'd say the sudden death was the hardest to deal with; when my parents died, it was sad, but a relief to see their suffering end.  But in the end, there is no "easy way".  Death is something we all suffer through.  Lately, it seems as though we are surrounded by sickness and death.  And as we get older, it become "more real" and we start thinking of our own passing.  I worry about Maura because she is an only child.

I will pray for your friend Lucy and her family, and for you too Connie because I know you are grieving for your friend's loss.

What can we do ... but live our lives as fully as we can -- taking part in life -- being good friends and staying close --- telling our family and friends how we feel about them and being there for them.  Stay strong, and remember Randall for being the wonderful man he was.

Wish I could express things better... sometimes things are so simple, other times very complicated.

Mary

Thank you Mary....the  children were from Randall's first marriage, his wife died. Those children and grandchildren were loved so much by both Randall and Lucy.

Thank you so much for sharing about your family.

I am kind of numb right now.

Love you...hugs...connie d

Sweetie,

I am so sorry to hear of your friend passing.  I suffered a loss yesterday as well.  A friend back in Michigan also passed away.  She had serious heart problems, had horrific edema, and was in a wheelchair from her size.  Her pacemaker acted up, and they couldn't save her.  Her memorial service will be in two weeks, so hopefully, I can be there for that.  She was a sweet, gentle woman.  Her husband would take her in her wheelchair for walks in town.  So sad she was so sick, for so long.

I'll pray for your friend's family.  Please pray for my friend, Barb Grubb's family.

Love,

Trish

Connie...so sorry to hear this about your friend. Sometimes I think it is more difficult to take when someone gets struck down in their prime of life!

You have certainly had your share of losses lately! Be careful as you know how our emotions can affect our physical health.

Prayers for you and the family!

Kathy
