Wednesday Lots to Do
Good Morning OFF Family,
As I shared on Connie's thread, my friend back in Michigan, Barb Grubb, passed away yesterday. She had serious heart problems, and they tried to replace her pacemaker, and things just got worse, with kidneys shutting down, and they couldn't save her. Please pray for her family. She was a real sweetie.
I am waiting for a phone call from a nursing home where my aunt is. We need to work on power of attorney for my Mom, and have questions about my aunt's power of attorney, coz Mom is hers.
I have no clue when I am going to be able to go home, but hope it is soon.
Love,
Trish

It seems you too have a loss. I am so sorry.
Do take care. BTW there isxa great website with a good step by step on medical decision making and the papers you need. It's free. It's call PREPARE. might help with your mom.
I am off to the dentist. I had work done to prepare for partial dentures were i am missing four teeth. My mouth hurt some at first, now two weeks later and i cn barely chew and worst of all hot coffee just about puts me thru the roof with pain, and i have to have my coffee.
We did finally get the garage door replaced yesterday.
Well, gotta run.
Hope you all have a good day.
Blessings,
Francine
Hi Trish and my OFF family to come:
So sorry to hear about your friend. I went through that a few years ago with my friend Margie, although it was more sudden.
Hope you can work out the legal issues.
I enjoyed the All-Star game yesterday ... the American League won, although they didn't use the White Sox pitcher. Well, he'll be fresher for the season.
I wanted to get up to go to the Y and set my alarm but slept through it. Which is funny because the alarm on my phone is cats yowling. It's really loud ... I must have needed the sleep. I had gotten up at 6:30 a.m. and went back to sleep. Next thing I knew it was it 9:45 a.m. I thought about just quickly eating my protein bar and going but then decided I had too much to do around here today. So I made coffee, made a pot for iced coffee, started laundry and relaxed. I do need to run out and go to the courthouse and see if I can find the records of my eviction/payoff, but that will be later, hopefully after I get rid of my headache. I also started my salsa chicken in the crockpot so I'll have dinner later. And I'm going to pick up two movies at Redbox: "American Sniper" and "Unbroken." So I have plenty to do; not really resting.
My therapist appointment was really good ... we talked how to let go of my incident with youknowwho ... while we were doing this, I was coloring mandelas. It's really peaceful. I had bought Sharpies and a coloring book I found at Michael's. I may have to print out some of Nancy's too. I don't have a hobby anymore now that I don't do ceramics. This is something to do that I don't have to put anywhere after I'm done.
My siblings are working on mom's estate sale and so I need to get working on getting rid of stuff in my apartment to make room for my brother. So I can't sit around all day. Just hope my headache goes away. At least it's cooler today ... 82.
Have a good day.
Hi Eileen!
I have not used an alarm since my 30's. I usually wake up between 6-7am every single day! However, that cat alarm sounds tempting just for the fun of it. I could set it for 3am and scare the crap out of everyone since we don't have cats!
I have heard American Sniper is a great movie. You reminded me I want to rent it, too. Enjoy!
You also reminded me of doing ceramics once a week with my mother in law & sister in law. They used to come down to keep me company as my 1st husband worked 2nd shift. I still put out my ceramic table-sized Christmas tree every year and have other pieces from that time. It was a fun, productive way to spend an evening!
Hope you get caught up on your rest!
Kathy
Hi Trish!
Sounds like you are really going through it, too, between your mom and now your friend passing!
I am sorry for your loss regarding your friend. I have always had a small circle, and after the loss of my beloved sister-in-law and then my best friend I kind of backed off from close friendships. Both were in their 40's...my sister-in-law died from her obesity related medical issues, and my best friend died from the liver damage she had from Hep C having been an intravaneous drug user in her addiction. But she died clean & sober!
I am also sorry about your mom. I had to go that route with my dad, but getting power of attorney made a lot of things easier for everybody. Wish you the best with that process!
Kathy
Hi Ladies,
I came to the library to get me some more books to read. I found a author that I like and they are mysteries. I just been doing my everyday thing like walking, spending time with my friend that lives in the same apt complex as I do.
Trish hope you can get everything worked out for your mother so you can come home soon. Sorry for your friend that passed away.
Prayers for everyone that needs them.
Hugs,
Yvonne
Good afternoon Trish and everyone...
Trish I am so sorry about Barb passing away. I left you a note on my post of my fiend Randall passing away last night. I am praying for her hubby and family.
I know how special she was to you and I feel so bad for you. It hurts to lose a good friend....or anyone for that matter.
I hope you can go home soon. Still praying for you and your mom.
As for me.... I am still just numb. I can't believe it ...another loss. I was just starting to feel a little better. I knew it wasn't going to be good news at that time of night. Never would I have ever guessed it was Randall. My heart is breaking for Lucy!!
My cleaning fairy got here a bit ago. I have a few other things I want her to help me with so I need to go for now.
Prayers for our loving OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for those who asked.
I will be checking in again soon.
Take good care everyone...you know I love you all!!!
LOVE....and HUGS.... to all of you....connie d
Trish-
Sorry to read about the loss of your friend. It's hard to get that news. It's worse when you are not there and having to deal with your Mom. I can relate although we got all the paperwork taken care of last fall during my visit with her. I scanned all the legal paperwork and carry the jump drive with me at all times.
I'm fortunate that my Mom chose to move to a senior independent living facility that also has assisted living, alzheimer and skilled nursing available. She's happy there and they also have home health aides that we can hire to make sure she's taking her meds properly. Despite losing her sight she had worked out a good system for the few meds that she takes. Our current crisis is that the Poise Pads that she loved have been discontinued. I'm online each week looking for new models and having samples sent to her for testing.
Made good progress with the packing on Monday. Got all the totes taped and labeled. Cleaned out some books and took them to the used book store for trade credit. I also packed a few boxes and realized that I need more wrapping paper which I picked up today at Walmart.
Went to town today to have lunch with a friend and to do the Walmart/grocery store run. The day started rainy but ended up sunny. The weather cooled significantly today and tonight it's supposed to be in the upper 40's. I'm not sure my tomatoes will ever bear fruit this summer with all of this cool weather.
That's it from Maine today. Connie - I'm thinking of you as well dealing with another loss.
