Good Morning...happy Wednesday!!!
Ladies,
First...Happy Birthday Connie....I hope your birth day is the best ever...eat some cake.
And for everyone else, I hope things are good for each of you.
Today, I am still interviewing but have a break. I sent all my final reports in and my budget was finalized and everything is going great. I hate the end of our fiscal year because budget, two reports, and projected outcomes are all due and I am a humanities person so all of that stuff makes me crazy. I do keep good records and do a monthly report so that the yearly is easy but I still have to justify the hell out of things.
Our college hired a new librarian...really, he is a researcher whose job is to help faculty with their secondary resources; however, he also helps students, so he is in my suite....he looks like he is ten. The deans brought him in and introduced me to him and I welcomed him and offered him coffee and other things to which the deans thanked me immensely. I think they think that I am a ***** or something because they all seem shocked when I am nice. Really, I am nice all the time.
Oh and DH is sick...I hate that. He has been having severe pain in his upper right quadrant and I have begged him to call the doctor and he has not done it yet. I am so mad but I really think he thinks it is something really bad and he just doesn't want to face it. I guess I will call his doctor tomorrow and tell him and see if he can call and talk some sense into him. Damn men.
Well, I am taking a group of PhD students on a trip across the USA to a conference in Boise. We are going to stop over in WY...take a detour to Mt. Rushmore...stop by yellowstone...and then after the conference run to Oregon and then back through Utah and then home.....all in nine days. Can you believe it?
Does anyone have Vic's address? If so, could you IM me...I would like to send her a card to let her know that I am thinking about her.
Hello Jeannie...Yes...I have Vickie's address...I also gave it to Carla, Judy and Eileen...let me know if you still need it!! Vickie said to give it to any of our OFF ladies that want it.
Thank you for the birthday wishes!!! You are sweet as always!!
I am exhausted...too much for me to do in a day. No birthday celebrations. I was asked out to lunch and dinner and canceled. I just can't!! I did one thing for me...I bought a small bag of M&Ms (creamy peanut butter) and a chocolate covered Rice Krispy Bar. I love both!! I have been nibbling on them off and on all day!! I hoping I can eat something for dinner tonight...I haven't been able to eat for a few days. I did manage to sip on my Premier Protein Shakes so I got my protein in and also my water. That was the best I could do.
You tell your DH to get to the doctor!! He doesn't want me to round up my posse and head over to take him there!!! After Butch...I think he should be careful too!
Shame on you scaring 10 year old like that...LOL!! I spit my peach tea on my monitor when you said that!! They do look younger all the time...makes me want to ask for proof of age and degrees!!!!
You have a lot of conferences and traveling ahead of you. I envy you!! My like is so boring now!! Have a great time!! Don't let anyone tie you to a stake or anything!!
Love to you...hugs too....connie d
Hi Connie and my OFF family:
Happy birthday, Connie ... already wished you HB on Facebook, but needed to do that here, too. ... the beer and cake have no calories and won't upset your stomach.
I had a semi-busy day. I went to the Y and did my Aqua Moves class ... did 15 minutes of warmup before the class so I was in the water for an hour. About 10 minutes before the class was over, two young women brought a group of little kids in ... must have been about 20 5-year-olds. They were so loud, you couldn't think. It was so nice to get out of the pool after that to the silence of the showers.
After the Y, I planned to give blood. Well, I got there a little late because I was late getting out of the locker room because I was gabbing. So I got in there, read their little book, sat down with the nurse. She took my temp, then my pulse ... hmmm, 104 ..."well, it has to be 100 or below, so take a moment and we'll recheck." So the next one was 102. So I couldn't donate. So then I decided to go out to lunch at Chili's ... got fajitas, so I have a lot left to eat. Came home and was checking my email. I got my bloodwork results back. Hmmm, my thyroid level is high. I guess I'll hear from my doctor soon. Maybe that's why my hands are so shaky and my pulse is up.
Talked with my brother Gary about moving ... he has gotten some moving quotes too. His last day at work is July 31. He's going to come down with some stuff in his car over that weekend. Maybe by then we'll hear about an apartment.
Well, time for the White Sox game. Hope everyone has a good night.
