Good morning our sweet OFF ladies!!!

I couldn't sleep....well I did but only 4 hours. I see a nap in my future today!!

Nothing much happening here today. I started working on a new puzzle last night. I will continue working on that off and on today.

I am going to start working on cleaning out my office desk drawers and the drawers in my hutch. I am really trying to get rid of things I don't use anymore. My cleaning fairy helped me get rid of a lot of things in the bottom of my hutch. That was a big help as it is hard right now for me to get up off the floor. This week she is going to help me go through my kitchen cabinets and pack up the things I don't use anymore. My girls can go through it. What they don't want will be donated. I am simplifying my life!

I will check back in later. I am going to go out for my walk now. It  is early but I just feel like getting it done. It will be cooler this morning and that will help a lot.

Prayers for our amazing OFF Family and their families.

Special prayers for Butch, Vickie and family. I hope all went well for them last night. Vickie just amaze me with her strength and determination. Butch too. God Bless them.

Have a restful day and keep cool!!

Loads of love and many hugs to all.....connie d

Good Morning Connie and OFF,

I think I only got about four hours of sleep too.  My mind and digestive system are off the hook right now.

I think of Vickie all day, and just give thanks to the Lord for His faithfulness in her life right now.  Knowing that Butch is no longer in pain, and seeing the strength and grace He keeps giving her is proof of His love for both of them.  Vickie, I love you, and continue to pray.

I had hoped to go to a balloon festival in a town about a half hour away.  But, it's been raining this morning, and we have about a 60% chance of rain the rest of the day.

I also feel bad for my kids.  They are supposed to have a 100% chance of rain all day.  Their Dad is staying at a nearby hotel.  I hope it has a pool, because that would give them something to do, indoors at least.  The Munchkins all love swimming.  It rained last year when Colleen and Chris got together to camp in Western New York last year.

I've been thinking a lot about the news we've had in the past week.  My heart is broken for the families that lost loved ones in the chur*****harleston.  I also know that everyone has opinions about the recent Supreme Court rulings.  My faith in the Lord has taught me that no matter who is governing, or what people feel about any of the social issues, we are supposed to love our neighbors as ourselves.  I understand what Luke 10 teaches about the Good Samaritan.  I also know what Scripture teaches about the people in government, in terms of praying for our leaders, and trusting what God says about them.  In the end, Philippians 4 teaches me not to worry.  I understand that not everyone believes the Bible, and that there has been tons of conflicting messages in the media about Christians and  Christianity.  But for me, the bottom line is regardless of all that happens, I love the people here, and I love our leaders, and pray for you and them.

Hugs,

Trish

Morning OFF family....

Well this  rain can stop anytime now!!! All the roof leaking around here the one in the clubhouse has now fallen down where it leaked!!!!! We are so  sick and tired of trying to repair these from leaking all the time!!!!!! I am so far "knock on wood" not getting any calls from tenants YET about theirs leaking or falling in!!! We have been told last couple years we were getting new roofs put on. Told the boss last week roofs were leaking big time again...response was...well guess we better get the roofs on this year...YEAH YA THINK??? Been told this ALL the time!!!! Maybe they are waiting to the WHOLE roof to fall in!!!!!!!

So anyhow not much else happening here. Had Metro inspection on the one apartment and now waiting for the paperwork and then that new tenant can move in on the 1st. This side will be all full.   The 30th I have one moving out on the other side and then that will make 2 empty. One is ready to move in though...So we are doing great so I have been told...can't wait to see that Christmas BONUS...HAHA.

Heard there was a guy passed out near one of the apartments Thursday night...seems it "could" have been the guy we have the no trespassing on. Wish I was called when they found him there!!!! They called for the squad but police came first and took him!!! So I am pretty sure it WAS the guy!? I need to find out but ofcourse it could be another week for that to happen with the police report...SIGHS.

Talked to my sister last night and she is doing pretty good. Was out walking when I called her. Was going to hang up and she answered. Said she would probably still be in hospital for the wedding. I told her that was August 1st. She said it would be close. I told her try hard. She said she was. Keep your prayers going for her.

Mom was to go to her dr yesterday need to call her see what that was about.

I got my shoes in the mail yesterday for the wedding. Not really fond of them but they will work. Like I said I will have them on for the MAIN parts of the wedding and my slippers for the rest. With the bad toe surgery I had dress shoes and me do not get along at all any more. And these shoes and low heeled.

Not sure what we will be doing today...weather SUCKS!!!!!!! Lots to do and Mother Nature does this.......GRRRRRRRRRRR

Had bingo yesterday and the ones that did want the BBQ were there so I told them next Bingo we would have Rick make the hot dogs on the grill and I was making potato salad and they can bring a dish to pass and we would have our small BBQ. They said what if word gets out? I said I posted on the bingo sheet I was having hot dogs and potato salad that bingo day. Nothing more about it. We had hot dogs cooked on grill before...they get their nose out of joint...so be it. I am done with them ******g and moaning over how and where I do things here!! They agreed. So this is it.

OK need to find breakfast...hungry today.

Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them and Special ones for Butch and Vicki and family.

HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS

Hello Judy....I am sorry you are dealing with leaky roofs. What a mess that can be!!! That dude better get those roofs replaced before the roofs completely fall in and hurts someone. You know how understanding your tenants are about things like that...LOL!! Oh well you have done all you can do!!

I continue to pray for you and Bonnie! I hope she can make it to the wedding. That would be so good for you!! I am glad you got a choice of shoes now. No worrying about sore feet!!!

We had bad storms last night. Some of the hail was pretty big. I am glad I no longer have a car sitting outside!!

Your BBQ idea sounds good. I love hot dogs on the grill!! I am sure you make a good potato salad too!! My other favorite!!

Have a good rest of the day....love to you and hugs....connie d

Hey Connie and Ladies,

I, too, have Vic in my thoughts and am so glad they are able to keep Butch's pain under control.

Today I am spending the day cleaning from top to bottom our little apartment. I usually do weekly vacuuming and mopping and will dust a bit here and there but I need to get to the cob webs and organize my closets.  I also need to flip my mattress.  My cats hate when I get in these cleaning moods because their little corners where they each have their beds get cleaned up and their little beds get washed and their toys put up....they are like DH and hate things being moved. LOL

Connie, I'm like you, I am working toward simplicity and have taken to removing all that crap that I don't use.  My daughter has my good China and she rarely uses it but I also have some special China that didn't cost a lot of money but it's very pretty and all there so I have it all loaded up to take to her and she said, why, Mama, do you have so many sets of dishes...I told her that when I was a young woman, we had every day China, good China, and very special China and she knows about my holiday dishes. LOL. I told her to store it all in the attic and someday the kids will use it.

Trish, I learned a long time ago that this is one place where we can walk in and leave politics and religion at the door. I do realize that many of you are religious beings and those of us who aren't make the choice to read what we want and ignore those posts or those parts of posts that are against our beliefs and because of that, we can all get along.  And, with all that has happened over the last week, some are upset and some are happy and breathing a sigh of relief...so, you're right, over the last week a lot has happened and it is best left outside of our board...because I am sure that opening our board any wider for religious/political issues would run those few who are remaining right out the door.

Ladies, I hope you guys have a good rest of Saturday....I hope you guys are having as cool a weather as we are here.  Back to cleaning for me.

Hi Jeannie....I had the same kind of sets of dishes....everyday, good and special. I now have only everyday dishes. I will not be serving a huge meal here anytime soon. I don't entertain here either. I do miss those occasions but it is what it is!!!  My dishes have gone to my daughters and some to granddaughters. I am still trying to decided what to do with all my crystal. I am not donating that!!

We do have a couple kitchens and dining rooms here that we can use whenever we want. We do need to sign up ahead of time. The are stocked with cookware and dishes and anything else we might need. We need to bring our own food to prepare. Good enough for me!!

Thank you for the message about religion and politics.  I do pray a lot for every one. Especially Vickie and Butch. I don't remember bringing anything up about religion itself. I am sorry if I offended anyone. I really, really try to not bring up politics. This isn't the place. We are here to be supportive to each other.

I am going through a really hard time right now. I will try to watch what I say. It must be me as I have not heard anything about this until now.

Have a good rest of the day..love and hugs to you....connie d

Connie,

No way was I referring to anyone in particular.  I was basically agreeing with Trish that this place is our refuge in the storm of life and it's nice that we all respect the board and each other to keep politics and religion out...it's fine that you guys pray for each other and I respect that; But, we are a diverse group with some Christian, a could of Jewish folks, and I'm an atheists, so it's nice that everyone respects everyone else.  It has taken us a while to find that place where we can all exists and be ourselves and respect each other while being ourselves.  You are so sweet and considerate of all of us, you nor anyone else have abused our freedom here.
