Good morning Francine and everyone...

I hope you have a little fun planned in your busy day!! Have a great weekend with family!!

As for me.... I have nothing planned. We had storms last night and are expecting more today. We are expecting storms through Monday and then again on Wednesday. I know what I will be doing.

Today I am going to sort through a couple totes that I found in storage. Some personal things that will be thrown or donated.

I put a note on our bulletin board last night to give away a free office chair. I have two office chairs and sure don't need them both. It is a nice chair with arms and it swivels and is very sturdy too.  I got a call first thing this morning from a lady in our north building. She came right over to look at it and took it right then. I am glad it found a nice home!!  Things tend to be snapped up pretty quickly once a note is posted.

I will check in later....have a good day!!

Prayers for our loving OFF Family and their families. Special prayers and love to our precious Vickie, Butch and family. Also extra prayers for Judy and her sister.

Lots of love and oodles of hugs to you all....connie d

Good Morning to All!!

Francine -- hope your busy weekend if fun-filled and does not involve too much work.  I'm itching to mow my lawn, but the mower has been acting up.  Maura is coming over tomorrow and her boyfriend Joe will be with her.  He's an auto mechanic.....little does he know I'm anxiously awaiting his arrival -- I'm going to ask him to check out the mower, and also the air-conditioning on my car...it needs to be recharged, but I don't know where the freon goes.

Connie -- hope you're feeling better.  I love getting good used stuff cheap!!  My office used to publish a bi-weekly "For Sale" list, so if you wanted to sell something, you could list it.  It had everything from kitchen dishes to cars.....everyone anxiously awaited it.  Then someone must have complained about something they bought, because all of the sudden they stopped publishing it "on advice of counsel".  Dam.  Now thrift shops and moving/yard sales are my source of fabulous finds!!!

Not much happening...Taylor is keeping us on our toes..unfortunately she leaves this afternoon instead of her usual Sunday afternoon departure.  Maura and Joe are camping, so they are picking her up so she can get a taste of camping this afternoon and overnight.  I'm sure she'll enjoy the adventure of sleeping in a tent!

Hope everyone has a great weekend.

Continuing prayers; good wishes to all.

Mary

Ladies,

I'm spending Saturday with my granddaughter in my office at the university. She and Granddad are going to the movies tomorrow so she and I are here spending time together: she's actually watching a movie and I'm doing catch up work. I hope you all have a good weekend.

I am still sending positive energy to Vic and her girls. As we all know, death, just like life, is so individual and the few days of life are not predictable. Doctors and nurses can say with limited certainty that the end is near, but the lingering is a strong testament to the physiology of our hearts and lungs and the power of love and the need for some to hold on for one more breath...Vic, take care of yourself and don't feel guilty for being tired and ready. His pain and his suffering has taken its toil on you and the girls so don't feel bad because you are ready before he is.  And because of the emotional roller coaster and how long the end has been, you might not have any tears left and that is okay too...no one will judge you because those nurses know...the tears will come later...when you are home alone; when you are frying an egg; when you are driving in the car...when you see something on TV and you want to say something to Butch but he isn't there.   That's when you will really feel the grief.  Death is the really the easy part; the living after they're gone is the hard part. You are in my thoughts.

Hello Jeannie...what a wonderful note you expressed to Vickie. I agree, it is all the times after. The first holiday's, the coming anniversary's, and lots of moments. I still am grieving my mom...14 years now and there are days I still mourn her. Everyone grieves differently. My heart is breaking for Vickie and her girls. Benny will miss Butch...Budder may not remember too much. When I think of Benny... I remember his special times with his grandpa...."haircuts and ice cream".  I love this family!!

Enjoy your day with your precious granddaughter!!

Have a great day...much love and many hugs to you....connie d

Hi Francine and my OFF family:

You know who's cousin has been here taking away all his stuff from my spare bedroom. He just left to get an Allen wrench to take apart the bed frame. He said after what he heard about what happened with his aunt (when you know who stole from his mom), he's lost all respect for him. So even his own family doesn't like him. That's bad. Pretty soon all vestiges will be gone. I'll be happy. He said he found a machete and a knife under the bed.

Last night was a little crazy. First of all, we had torrential downpours that flooded the streets. I had to zigzag home, trying to find a dry lane home. Still found a couple of intersections and patches of streets that were lakes. Then, at work, we had a high school team playing for a state baseball title up in Indy. Well, it was raining up there, too. That was going to be our big story and photos. The game had two rain delays. And we weren't sure if we were going to get photos because we were getting them from the Jasper newspaper. At 10:30, we finally decided to go with the U.S. Open (which we just got the story at 10:15 p.m. anyway), because we knew we had art for that. So my boss had to redesign the page on the fly. Such fun! Amazingly, we still got done mostly on time. Only a few minutes late. Oh, and the local team lost 2-1.

I'm going to drop the first of many bags off at St. Vincent de Paul thrift store ... or as we call it, St. Vinny. It's on the way to work, so it's convenient. Bunch of clothes I no longer wear. Even with that, the closet is still full.

Thinking of Vickie and Butch and their family. I wonder if he's holding on for Father's Day. Just a thought.

Have a good day.

Hello Eileen....I hope "IT's" cousin will go sell all all those things or give it away. Personally I think the knife and machete should go to the police Department. IT is a pitiful excuse of a man!!!!

I hope the flooding doesn't get any worse there. You will float away!!

Good job getting your closet cleared out. I did that when I moved here. I still could get rid of a few things!! I think donating is a wonderful thing. I always do that too.

That comment about Butch and Father's Day could be a possibility. I never thought of that. I am however not sure of he even knows what day of the week it is. He is on some pretty crazy drugs.

I need to nap...I hate taking these meds...they wipe me out but sure help with the pain. How has your pain been with all the rain? I am sure you are feeling better.

Have a good day...loads of love and bushels of hugs...connie d

No, he's taking the stuff down to Georgia and Richard. He said after he heard what "It" did to his aunt (its mom), he lost respect for it. Then I showed him the photo of my face after the attack. They had grown up together for awhile. He said he's only doing this for his aunt, not for it.

Hope you feel better after you nap.
