It is Friday....what's new?

Good morning everyone.....

I am not planning anything for today. I need more rest today.

Yesterday was crazy!! My nurse was here and I had one of my major pain attacks kick in. She saw first hand what happens and how fast it comes on. She was so worried as she thought I was going to pass out. She thought maybe she should call an ambulance. She said I looked that bad. I told her I would be okay I just needed my Flexeril and Vicodin. I laid in my recliner until the spasms let up some and I could breath more normally again. She stayed with me until the medication kicked in. I am glad it is documented now. They have seen me in pain but never seen how fast it happens. The rest of the day and night were really hard and has taken a toll on my body. Not such a good day today. I know I will be okay.

I feel stupid talking about this knowing what our dear Butch and Vickie are dealing with. More prayers and love to all of them!! I hope they all find peace soon.

I will check in later to see what others post. I love you all!!!

More love and many hugs  to all......connie d

Dear Connie,

I am SO sorry to hear you are still having those darn muscle spasms & not feeling well. However, it is good the nurse saw them. I wish there was something I could do for you. You are such a fighter. Do they recommend bedrest or anything when you are feeling so bad? I was worried last week when you first reported this happening.

Please take care of yourself. Like said yesterday...what would we do without you on this board if you ended up in hospital or were down for awhile???

Thinking of you!

Kathy

Hello Kathy.....I am a fighter that is for sure. When I get in this much pain I do rest as my doctor tells me too. I have to ice the areas where I have spasms the worst. Drink lots of water...I do that anyway!! I am suppose to walk....I do that too.

You will think I am crazy but the thing that helped me so much was tanning. Seriously!!! I didn't have consistent pain. I went 3 to 4 days a week. I even talked to my doctor and nurse about it. They said for all the bad things about tanning...this one seems to work for others too.  No insurance will cover it that is for sure. I don't drive...I would have to take a bus. I tan about 20 minutes...then I would have to wait an hour or so to get a bus home. I have checked into this. Oh well...just not meant to be!!

Thanks again for that sweet compliment. You are a sweetheart!! I am so happy you found us!!

Loads of love and bunches of hugs to you....connie d

Sweet, Sweet Connie, and OFF Sisters,

I am so sorry you had another episode yesterday.  But, I'm glad your nurse was there, and that she stayed with you to make sure you were okay.  Please take it easy today.

Today, I head to the Relay for Life, for the American Cancer Society.  I raised over $100 myself.  Have no clue about the rest of my team.  I've decided no more Relays.  I'm only going to do Bark for Life, where Utley and I walk for a day.  I have been disappointed by the lack of participation in my team.

I have to get going.

Prayers continue.

Love and Hugs,

Trish

Morning everyone.

Not much new -- saw Vickie's update.  Time is passing, waiting must be very hard on Vickie and the girls.

Pookie is settling in nicely:  I take him out frequently so that keeps me on my toes.  The cat is jealous and tries to get up on my lap - but there's no hissing or growling going on, so that's good; I don't expect to see blood being drawn!

Taylor comes tonight - she will be excited to meet Pookie.  There may be a church festival in town this weekend; if so, I'll take her to that.

Working on Jim's menu for the weekend.  He has to load up on protein, so that's no issue.  He also will have veggies and fruit.  I'll have a slice of whatever fruit he's eating, but I have to be careful with that; veggies are no problem.  He also likes breads so I have to stay away from that.  Luckily, he has a problem with ice cream/milk so that won't be an issue either.  We'll see how he sticks to the program. As I said, his stomach was supple at 3:00 yesterday, and in the evening it was getting "tight" again -- hope he makes it to his appt. next Friday without any issues before that.

Maura's boyfriend is bringing over the new mattress I'm getting on Sunday, and I have to ask him to look at my lawn mower.  I've been able to get it started, but it only runs for about one minute and then stalls, and I can't restart it.  My grass grows too fast -- it rained two nights ago and the grass sprouted up so I'm anxious to get it cut.

That's it for me.

Connie - I'm sorry you had another "episode" but I'm glad the nurse was there to witness it and now document it.

Trish, the Bark for Life sounds like fun.  It's hard to be a "team member" - I like doing solo things because if I feel a team member is not putting in the same effort as I am, I get super, super annoyed -- to the point where I can't stand looking at the team member because I'd want to rip his/her throat out.  (Do I seem competitive? - I am!)

Ongoing prayers; good wishes to everyone.

Mary

Hello Mary...Awwwwww me too...I love the name "Pookie" !!! I am glad you got him as you are good for him too!! At least Pookie and the cat are tolerating each other. Taylor will love him too!!!

I hope you are able to go to the festival with Taylor. Kids love those kinds of places!!

There won't be a problem for Jim...if the food isn't there he can't eat it. Keep a container of cold water in the fridge at all times...juice or Koolaid....all sugar free of course. NO soda as that will make him gassy too. If he was drinking a lot of milk and eating ice cream....I can see why he was feeling like he was. I hope he doesn't cheat and losses some weight as well. You sound like you have it all under control now!!!

YAY your new mattress will be there Sunday!!!  This will go in the extra bedroom I hope!!  I want you sleeping in a bed sweetie...please!!!

Lots of love and tons of hugs to you....connie d

Mary and Kathy, you made me laugh, reminded me of the commercial for some hotel service, where the guy asks if they have a hotel where he can get lucky in... Turns out Lucky is his dog...   Dirty, dirty minds....
