update
Dear Vickie...I am so sorry...I know you hate for Butch to go but it does come to a point when it is for the best. I hope for all of you that it will be soon. I am keeping you and Butch in my thoughts and prayers. I hope your girls are holding up and able to be there for comfort and strength for you too. I know they need you!
I am worried about you. I hope you are taking care of yourself. You by far are one of the strongest people I know. You amaze me every day!! However...you need rest and food to keep you strong.
I am keeping you close.... I will always love you! You are so special to me...my sister!!
God Bless Butch, you and your family.
Loads of love and bushels of hugs....connie d
Good Morning Vickie!
Thank you for keeping us updated...I am sure you know everyone has you, Butch & family in our thoughts & prayers.
I have found that in the 2 of the 3 deaths I witnessed they passed after a couple days of no food or drink or urination. My mother was the exception, but the hospice nurse was right in her 'time prediction' even tho we were all sure she would go before the next day.
I know 'the wait' for it to be over is so difficult, but it sounds close. Will continue to pray for you as I know you all have to be exhausted.
Take care!
Love & Hugs
Kathy
Sweet Vickie,
You, and Butch, and the girls, are at the top of my prayer list. I'm so sorry you have to be on this journey. I love you, and continue to pray.

Vickie, my thoughts are with you. I can only imagine how hard this is on you. We were fortunate that my dad went quickly. Of course, the fact we stopped dialysis had something to do with that. It was the right thing to do, because he would have had to had another surgery to put a port in his neck, and he was too weak for that. It wasn't worth it. So my then SIL (now former) made the decision not to do it. She was right. No sense putting him through more pain. Butch isn't eating because he is ready to go. You can hold his hand and sit with him. He knows you're there. It's hard for you. Stay strong. Get sleep and make sure you eat. Get your protein. Take breaks and walk around the hospice. We are with you in spirit.
