Monday Update!
Good morning ladies!
Up early today, as its a work day for me. Its a dark and stormy morning here in NY, but I will do some things around the house before I have to leave for the week. And of course I need to get some sort of workout in! I will feel so much better if I do.
Mary, hopefully Jim "sees the light" but either way, I hope he gets that treatment. I gave up cable more then 2 years ago and save a bundle. I subscribe to Amazon Prime, Hulu and Netflix - with the kids its the best for us. If it were up to me I would probably pick jus Netflix! I also got a digital antenna for over the air signal, which is clearer and sharper than cable. Great for sports! The antenna cost me about $30 at Costco and works great. Even with the subscription services and high-speed internet, I save over $100/month. It was a no-brainer for us.
Trish, happy birthday to your grandbaby! Sounds like a lovely party.
Eileen, it seemed like a slow sports day yesterday (minus the NBA game 5) so I hope it was a quiet night for you at work.
Judy, I'm glad you had fun at your BBQ, you sure needed it! Though the after affects don't sound very fun at all!
Jeannie, obviously at this point (10 weeks post surgery) I am not up for experimenting but at some point next year may try the no-sugar-added variety of ice cream. Weirdly I'm not craving sweets... its chips, breads, crackers and all that stuff that is calling my name, still. I'm holding strong!
Apple, I'm not sure which surgery you had but while you're trying to get portions under control check out the "whats on you menu" posts. There is one for RNY and I believe a similar thread on the Sleeve forum too. These threads contain everyone's daily menu plans. Posting a daily plan does help me stay on track. Maybe you can try it and see if it helps?
Kathy, I hope Jazz had a good visit with her Mom and that you had a restful, quiet day!
Carla, hope your travels are going well and you're safe at this week's destination. :-)
Maui Karen, I also hope your Sunday was a quiet and relaxing day. I hope you'll post some pictures of your retreat!
Connie, I hope your storage issue is all dealt with now and that you had a good visit with your grands. Get some R&R! Miss your smiling posts!!!
Vickie my dear, when you check in just know you're in my thoughts and prayers. Lots of love and light going out to you and your family. xoxo
OK Ladies, before I scoot for the day, let me give you an update on our Shed debacle! The poor man was here and hammering into the night. Ron went out there and started working with him at 4:30pm, which enabled us to get the roof and doors on before the weather turned. But as expected it's not yet finished. Ron told the carpenter to just leave the materials and he would do it himself. The nstaller says he's coming back again tonight to finish, but I doubt it. So anyway, the company will be getting a call from me today to get some refund of the installation fee. I do feel bad for the man who was sent to do the work, but since my husband did about half the construction in the end, and we didn't get the product we paid for (its missing several components), its only right and fair. But I have to say, it's a good looking shed. It's not a she-shed or anything grand but a huge improvement over the old one.
So that's my story, morning glories. Now I have to get moving so I can get on the road. Will be reading later! Hugs to all,
Christine

137 pounds lost - from a 24/26W to a size 8/10!
Good Morning Christine, and all to follow!
Christine, you're one busy lady! Your she debacle brings back a lot of memories. I remember years ago my husband and I had bought a modular home and had it set on a beautiful lot. We bought a very nice shed kit from Sears, and Mick (my husband) and I put it up with the help of another couple. It took a day and a half and we had a of laughs over how challenging it was to get the darn thing set up, along with our 3-1/2' pool that I loved so much. Believe me, the pool and shed were well worth the effort. Mick was so great at do things for the home. Over the years he painted and re-roofed one home, and at every house we lived in (three total) he put up fences, landscaped, built stone walls, patios, landscaped gardens, etc. He always had a tool in one hand, a cup of coffee in his other hand, and a cleaning rag hanging out his back pocket. He was a true gem and I have such wonderful memories. How life has changed.
Ok, shaking out of it. I got up earlier this morning (at 4:00) and made my first cup of coffee. Fast forward to 7:00 when I wake up again, this time soaked in cold coffee. I have this bad habit of getting up early, making coffee, sitting in my recliner to go on the computer, and falling back to sleep while holding my coffee mug (covered, but not spill-proof!). I have may episodes of "wetting myself"!!
Hope everyone has a good day. Hopefully I get Jim to the hospital. Prayers to Vickie and Butch, and Judy and her sister and family, and everyone else, along with good wishes!
Mary
Good Morning Christine and OFF,
Christine, you definitely rock. With your exercise and diet, your weight loss is awesome. Keep up the great work.
Mary, I hope Jim follows through with the ER. I can't imagine what you're going through.
Connie, I hope your work at the storage unit didn't wipe you out.
Vickie, I continue to pray for you, and Butch, and the girls.
Judy, glad you had a good barbecue. Hope there is good news about your sister.
Eileen, I hope you are doing better with the PTSD. I continue to pray for you.
I'm taking the birthday girl out for her birthday lunch a day late. I normally take the kids out before their birthday, but Colleen was so busy last week. I started to do this when I first moved here. I am thrilled that I can do this. It's our date, just her and me. When I lived in Pennsylvania I couldn't have this. I do the same with the boys.
I need to jump in the shower, as well as work on some gardening.
I think of all of you, and hope you have a wonderful start to the week.
Love, Hugs, and Prayers,
Trish

Almost forgot,
Not sure if I mentioned that my niece, the one that had the baby boy in November, is having a girl at the end of October. I might have mentioned she's expecting again, but I found out our family is getting another girl. Her name will be Emma Grace. I already started the baby blanket. Her nursery will be green and purple, so I making a blanket with three shades of purple, and white.
I plan to attend my 40 year high school reunion at the end of October, so I hope I'm back home when she arrives.
Much love,
Trish

Hi Christine and my OFF family:
I dragged myself out of bed at 8 a.m. to get ready to go to the Y ... although all I really want to do is sleep. I'm sitting here drinking my coffee and fighting sleep. At times it looks like it's going to storms and then the sun comes out. Wi**** would make up its mind.
Last night was actually boring and at times maddening, especially at the end. Of course, the Cubs-Reds game went into extra innings. And just as I was going to put Plan B into action, the Cubs won ... it was 11 p.m. and I figured we'd have a story in 15 minutes. Well, it didn't work out that way. So I had to write my own story from box scores and Associated Press tidbits ... it took more than a half hour to get the early version of the story from AP (4-5 paragraphs) and then that had errors in it (i.e., it had Joey Hamilton of the Reds stealing five bases ... the player's name is Billy Hamilton). I wrote 10 inches in the time it took the AP person to write five graphs. I was pissed ... we were late because whoever was manning the ship in Chicago didn't do their job. Plus, I should have had an easy night and wound up getting done late. And, of course, tonight we have a late game (Stanley Cup Final ... hockey). That's in Chicago too ... hope this writer is better.
Christine, I agree you need a refund from the company on the shed. You folks did most of the work.
Trish, thanks for thinking of me. The only time I really get freaked out is when I forget to leave the light on at home, as I did last night, and come home to a dark apartment. I almost took a Xanax last night. I managed to calm myself, with the help of Juliette's purring. I know you know who's not here, but coming home to a dark house freaks me out. Still haven't taken a Xanax, but good to know they're there if I need one.
Mary, hope things go well at the ER with Jim.
My brother met with a newly found third cousin from California. He posted a photo on Facebook ... I'll have to steal it and repost it. She has some old family photos that my brother is going to bring when he visits at the end of the month and we look at apartments again. I got in contact with her through another third cousin who I met when I lived in Georgia. Genealogy is so much fun!
Well, I should get off the computer and start getting ready for the Y. The sun is out now so I need to get to the pool, even though I want to go back to bed.
Have a good day ... swinging chickens and good thoughts to those who need them.
Good morning Christine and everyone....
Christine....I sat in a chair...although every tote had to be gone through by me. Everyone helped with all they could. I didn't refill totes... they did...I didn't carry anything. I am so sore from looking into the totes...bending and reaching...for hours. We had to go back yesterday to finish loading the last of it and then it had to be swept out...Amanda and Tyler did that. My hands are almost the worst. No surprise that I am hurting everywhere!! I just took another Vicodin. Storage is DONE...completely over and I never have to worry about it anymore!!! WOW did we donate a lot of good things!!! The kids took quite a bit too.
Today is a rest day for me. I just can't answer everyone like I like to and I feel bad about that. You know how much I care for all of you!! I went back this morning and read the last few days posts. There are so many of you doing so great with the WLS!!! I am so proud of everyone!!
If my hands feel better and I can write more later I will.
Prayers for our sweet Vickie and Butch. I pray his time is much less painful and more restful these days. Vickie, I love you to pieces!!
Prayers for all our precious OFF Family and their families.
Have a peaceful day!
Much love and many hugs to all....connie d
