Happy Friday!
Hi Mary and my OFF family:
Getting on here late; had some things to do this morning and didn't get all of them done. It's my mom's 91st birthday, so I wanted to be sure to call her before my brothers and SIL got there to see her. My brother Gary bought her a walker with a seat (and I'm going in on it), hoping it will encourage mom to walk more because now she'll have a place to sit if she gets tired. He said it seems sturdy.
Also had to talk with my weight management coach; good news, I lost 5 pounds. Don't know what I did differently. I did try to cut down on mindless eating of salty snacks. Oh, I found a new good crunch snack: Quest Protein Chips. I ordered the barbecue ones. They are not bad. They are like Baked Lays but a little more substantial. 120 cal, 5 carbs, 25 protein. A bag really filled me up. Glad I like them because I bought a whole case. They have cheddar and sour cream, sour cream and onion, and sea salt.
Vickie, I'm happy you have found a solution for Butch's pain issues. I hope it works.
Well, I guess I should look to see if there's anything else for me to do. Have a good day.
Hello Eileen....wish your mom a Happy Birthday from me!!
My walker has a seat and believe me I have had to use it myself. When I feel off balance I sit right away. I am sure she will enjoy her's. She should have been able to get one through insurance or Medicare or whatever. She would just need a doctors RX/note.
Congrats on your weight loss...every 5 pounds counts!! I am glad you like the chips. They do sound good. Is it one serving per bag?
I can't have things like that around. I love chips and I wouldn't be able to just eat one bag a day.
My doctor wants me on very few carbs and only good ones. I have lost over 20 pounds now. I think a lot of that is the walk I do every day!! We all have different weight loss plans and hey....if it works keep doing it!!!
It is more expensive eating healthy isn't it? I spend at least $35 a week just on fresh fruit.....mostly berries and those cost more. I have melons and always grapes too. Lots of fresh veggies cut up to nibble...broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, and cherry tomatoes.
What I wouldn't do for a huge dish of ice cream!!!!!
Have a good night....love and hugs to you...connie d
Yes, one bag is one serving. And there's a lot in a bag. I was stuffed. I had thought I could have those with my Saturday Subway sandwich, but there's a lot of chips in there. I was amazed. Really filled me up.
I bought some grapes at Target and found they fill me up, too. I had gotten hooked on the clementines but couldn't find those anymore. So I thought I'd try the grapes. And I've been having a salad with my Lean Cuisine or whatever I have for lunch. So I'm trying to be good and eat healthy, along with my exercise at the pool.
Ice cream, now, I love it, but I can't eat much of it because it doesn't agree with me. That, and fried foods. Probably a good thing.
