Carla, I am so grateful that we met.  Plus, I got too check out a new, to me, restaurant.  That Greek omelette was the best I've ever had.

I just love our family here on OFF.

Hugs

Hi Mary and my OFF family:

You did write a book ... but that's OK. Mary, supposedly the pain in my right middle finger is coming from my neck. That's what my chiro said. She did lots of adjusting on me and told me to ice my neck. It was feeling better last night and I woke up this morning feeling good ... then it started acting up again. So here I am, icing again.

I was all set to go to the Y for my aqua moves class ... then it started thundering and pouring. I called the Y at 10:40 and asked if the pool was open (they close it during storms) ... it was not and would be closed til 11 a.m. Well, the class is at 11:15. It was still pouring at 11 a.m. and thundering. So at that point, I decided to stay home and do laundry. Now, it's sunny out. Go figure. I have a 3:15 p.m. appointment to get my hair cut and colored. Really need it, too.

Mary, I don't get my cleaning lady approved by anyone. But I know I need it because this place would be a pig sty if I didn't have one. Lisa is a little more expensive than my previous ones, but she is a whirlwind. She charged me $100 but she did so much. When I was moving the last time, she helped me pack. She's lived around here forever, so she knows everything about Evansville.

My new toy arrived today ... I bought a new laptop. This one is 5 years old and slower than dirt. And there's a line going down the screen. I had taken out a 401k loan to pay off bills, and I have been paying bills with it, but this was one indulgence. Similar to what I have now, just newer. I have to wait for a bit of software to arrive from Amazon to start using it.

I saw my landlord out in the parking lot this morning so I called him over. Told him the handyman broke my vacuum and still hasn't finished the job. He told me a story about you know who. Seems he got into a fracas with a guy at the dumpster one day. The other guy was on a bike and much smaller. You know who started pushing him and knocking him around and yelling at him. This happened not long after he arrived. Wow, I am hearing all sorts of stories. And the night when he said the people upstairs were fighting and the woman was being abused .... never happened. He really is living in a fantasy world.

Well, that's all that's going on around here. Just hanging around having another cup of coffee while my whites wash. Pissed that I didn't go to the Y now because it's bright and sunny. Have a good day.

Eileen, now that we know more about all the bridges that himself burned before he moved in with you, I can tell you it sounds more and more like when Sean, my baby boy, was at the height of his heroin addiction.

I learned about the extent of his addiction when he came home from his first semester at college.  I immediately got him into outpatient treatment.  I also warned him if he used anything stronger than aspirin, he was going to be kicked out.  Of course, he used, and got himself arrested.  I refused to bail him out, and when someone else did, he came home, shaking and crying in withdrawal.  After about an hour of kicking his ass, I let him sleep in his bed, with the instructions to not be home when I got home from work the next day.

His Dad's apartment was his next home.  Eventually, we found out he was using again.  So, Dad kicked him out.  After drifting from rehab, to halfway houses, getting kicked out of the latter, He moved here, and lived with Colleen and Trent, before babies.  Of course, they threw him out.  After living here in an apartment, he moved to Pittsburgh.

I will say that Sean was never violent with any of us.  I also don't believe that Sean used any drugs while living with Colleen.  He refused to follow a few rules they asked him to follow.  It was more about respect.  I was a wreck while making the decision to throw him out, but after a talk with my AA sponsor, and then my therapist, I did it.  Sean has been clean for a few years now, and he's in therapy, so I'm hopeful.

Sorry to babble.  I just wanted to share some similarities I see.

Hugs

Hello Eileen.....Sorry you finger is acting up again. I hope it settles own soon.

Sorry you missed your aqua moves class....some days are just that way...every thing changes whether we like it or not.

So it is time for your haircut and color.....I hope you managed to get there!!

I am so happy you have a homemaker again. People in as much pain as you are in deserve that much. I am so glad you have someone you really like!

I am trying to decide if I should get a laptop or just a tablet. My computer has been running good so I haven't gotten one yet. What do you think? What kind did you get? My daughter just asked me if I needed one yet. I am suppose to look at them and tell her what I want.

"You know who" really does need help...he seriously needs to be committed some place!! He will really do something bad and end up in prison. That will make him change his ways!! I am sure everyone that has giving him help in any way has a story or two to tell. IDIOT!!! Alcohol and drugs doesn't make anyone a better person.

Have a good rest of the day...love and hugs to you...connie d

I like a laptop because I can work on it for the bigger stuff. I have a tablet for reading and doing things like facebook and such (plus watching ballgames at work). It's like a mini-TV. Plus, I usually get a bigger screen on the laptop ... I get a 17-incher because then I can actually see a lot. I will probably wipe this down and try to sell this one for cheap. If it wasn't so slow, it'd be OK (even with the line down the side).

I have a Dell Inspiron  5000 series 17-inch screen laptop. There are some that you can change from a laptop to a tablet...this doesn't. And a lot of the computers now don't come with software unless you ask. I got some extras on mine.
