Good Morning Sisters!

4:20 a.m. {sigh}  Dozed too much during the day, and when I finally hit the sheets I only took partial dose of my paid med- and that was a mistake.  My back is killing me.  Back to my full dose tomorrow night.  I hate sleeping during the day - it makes me feel so depressed.  I'm looking around thinking I could have cleaned out the hutch instead, or I could have gone through my junk mail, or I could have swept/mopped the kitchen and bathroom floors, or I could have done some work in the middle room that has become a junk room.  Instead, I slept.  It's not like I needed the sleep -- I think it has more to do with depression.  I spoke to my PCP last week when I saw him... but I had to be honest with him.  I haven't been taking the anti-depressant he prescribed on a regular basis.  He told me to get back on them every day, and when I see him in two months we'll see how I'm doing and adjust it if necessary.

I had Taylor for the long weekend, and she is such a blessing.  I swear she should be in pictures!  But doesn't every Grammy think the same thing.  She has such a personality, and she is as sharp as a tack.  Makes me laugh!  And thank goodness she was here Sunday morning.  Every day I have to take Jim to his clinic, and he'll go out first and start the car.  So out he went, with Taylor, on Sunday.  I step out and as I'm going down the stairs I realize he and Taylor are standing outside the car.  WTH?  He didn't bring the keys out with him....and I never even checked before I went out the door because he ALWAYS takes the keys.  I thought he would have to kick in the back door (which he did once before).  But luckily, we had left a front window unlocked because I've been opening it for fresh air lately.  So Taylor became our Ninja heroine!  She was a little hesitant at first about being lifted up and asked to go into the house to unlock the door for us, but when we told her that's what a Ninja would do, she was all for it.  Lucky for us she has been into Teenage Mutant Ninjas lately---we had even given her a MichaelAngelo pendant for Christmas.  So she was the star of the day and earned herself a special present when we went to the store.  I love that girl. Her mother's pretty special too.

Maura gave me $200 yesterday....... A few years ago I saw an article about unclaimed money - bank accounts and insurance policies that go unclaimed for years, and the article gave instructions on how to check your name out on the list.  Well, when I checked I discovered under my name two rebates I was due from a mortgage company and a town where I used to live. I filed claims an got around $1,500.  I also checked my late husband's name and found a listing - no info, just a claim number.  Well, since we had gotten divorced a few years after we were married (then got back together six months later) I was not technically the beneficiary, but Maura was, so she checked into it.  It was an insurance policy his mother had taken out - no info on the amount.  So Maura had to get his birth/death records, his mother's death certificate and her own birth certificate and mailed them in.  They still wouldn't tell her how much the policy was for, and they made a ridiculous request for proof that her dad lived in Syracuse, where his mother resided before her death.  Well, he never resided there.  She let the matter drop, and I would ask about it every once in a while.  She said she would check it out.  She happened to mention it to a co-worker who is generally "a squeaky wheel" -- well the darling picked up the phone, called the insurance company and complained they were being ridiculous with their request and were being "unfair an deceptive" (those are MAGIC WORDS)... and Maura received a $2,000 check a week later.  She wanted to give me $500 but I told her that was way too much, and we agreed on $200, which I'll use towards a plumber.  I gave Jim until June 1st to take care of the kitchen sink -- his "best friend" was supposed to come and help fix it....but he has been a no show.  So next week I'm making some calls to get someone in.

Well, I wrote another book, didn't I?

Trish and Carla -- how was breakfast??!!?  How great to be able to get together like that.

And Vickie - so, so glad you had the yard guys in.  I'm enjoying my lawn mowing, but would love to have someone in just once to do some branch trimming and gutter cleaning.  I did get my planting done, so I'm thrilled about that.  And I'm glad you're getting some help with lining up hospice help.  Things will be better for both you and Butch.

Kathy - September is just around the corner!!  You are doing great now - hang tough.  And lucky you to have a pool.  We had a small pool (3-1/2') when Maura was young .... I used to LOVE to come home and jump in the pool, it was sssoooooo relaxing.

Eileen, sorry your Fibro is still flaring up - must be so painful. Must say I'm jealous of you and Vickie having your cleaning fairies!!  Wish my doctor would endorse some home help - he seems to think I'm better than I feel.  I love the guy, but sometimes I wonder about him understanding the whole picture. I don't have one single disabling condition, but several conditions that when you put them together they are disabling.  I think he sees them one at a time, each single.  Why is your middle finger so bad?  Flipping too many people off these days??

Connie - I worry about you feeling so weak and tired and being in so much pain.  Take your pain meds!!

Jennifer - glad your aquafit class unkinked you (love that word!) and I hope you felt some Fibro relief.  Your dinner sounded great.  I just bought an $11 portable charcoal grill - hope to use it a lot.  I love the charcoal flavor -- but a gas grill would be more convenient. I always feel like I'm wasting charcoal.  I even bought some hickory chips.  Love grilled meat and veggies!

Well, enough of this BOOK!!

Prayers and good wishes to all of your wonderful ladies!!

Mary

Hello Francine....I hope you could fall back asleep. It does sound like a busy day for you. Lots of errands for you to get done!

I had a busy day so far too...not as many places...hectic none the less. I had deliveries one after the other. I barely got in the door from grocery shopping. Now I just came back in from my walk. I love the warmer temp 85 and that is fine with me!! I had a good workout!!

Have a great rest of the day!!

Love and hugs to you.....connie d

Good morning Mary and Twink and all my sistas!

Rough night again last night.  I am so so tired.  Butch woke up vomiting at 5 a.m.  By the time we got him settled back down and anti-nausea meds and pain meds administered, it was 5:30 a.m. and I was awake.  I stayed in bed, hoping to fall back asleep and sure enough I did--5 minutes before the alarm went off at 7!  Natch.  Then I fell back asleep and didn't wake up again until 8.  As a result, I'm cranky and groggy and headachey--not a good combination.

But I have a busy day ahead.  Already got the garbage hauled out to the curb.  I'm not used to all these city services.  LOL!  Got to take Mom (and myself) to the skin doctor in about 10 more minutes.  Mine is just a quick check (I have fair skin and lots of moles and freckles, etc.  I get check every 6 months), but its Mom's first visit, so hers will take longer.

Then we have more of Butch's family coming this afternoon.  I don't see much opportunity for a nap today.

Mary, you hang in there and for pete's sake, take your antidepressants.  Sweetheart, don't make things harder for yourself.  Twink, I'm glad to see you here today.

Love you all!

 Vickie

Vickie, take some time for yourself. No wonder you have a headache. Maybe you can take a moment after you go to the doctor and stop for coffee or something with your mom. Just sit for awhile. Have a glass of wine ... relax. You need your emotional strength.

Hello Vickie....so sorry you had a rough night again last night. I am sure you are exhausted. I am so happy you slept until 8 AM.....you needed that rest!!

I need to make an appointment with a skin doctor. I have a couple moles I need looking at. I hope you sat and did nothing at all while your mom was in her appointment.

I hope all is going well with your company. I am sure it is hard on everyone but you most of all. I hope to that they are staying too long as Butch is so worn out.

Prayers and more prayers for Butch and you too, Vickie!!

I agree....MARY...you take those antidepressants....you have to much going on in your life to quit those!!! I am here for you.

You are on my mind so much. I don't feel like much of a friend as there isn't much I can do to help you.

I am getting sleepy... once I finished my walk and sat here now I want a nap. I best just get moving. I sleep now and I won't sleep tonight.

Much love and oodles of hugs to you.....connie d

Good Morning Mary and my Sweet OFF Sisters,

Mary, was it you, or Jeannie, who had to previously help a granddaughter through a window to unlock the door?  Or am I having deja vu?

Well, I I got sick yesterday afternoon.  Just the nausea, gas, that has been plaguing me off and on for a while.  So, I basically just vegged for most of the day.  So, now that I'm feeling a bit better, I'm going to plant my flowers, and work on Izzy's dress today.

I'm trying to figure out if I can take a mini-vacation somewhere other than back home.  See, back home I stay at my SIL's.  Anywhere else, I'd have to pay for a hotel.  So, I'm exploring options.

I continue to pray for everyone, especially Vickie and Butch.

Love, Hugs, and Prayers,

Trish

Hello Trish....I would love to go on a trip somewhere. That sounds so good to me. Where ever you pick will be fun!!! Could you take a girlfriend with you to split a night at a motel/hotel?

So sorry you felt sick yesterday. Is everything okay today?

I hope you feel well enough to cut out Izzy's dress and get your flowers planted.

Have a good evening...lots of love and hugs....connie d
