I'm back.  Well, last night was my insomnia night.  I took two of my bedtime meds, I normally take one.  Plus, two Benadryl, when I normally take one.  I could not get comfortable at all.  Hands ached, foot ached, overall body aches.  So, I overslept this morning.  Today, I have to go to town for stuff to bake for a bake sale we're having on Saturday for the Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.  I'll be baking all day tomorrow.  Today, I will make some of the dough for cookies.

I also have to finish that backyard.  Too busy yesterday to fini****

Must scoot.

Love, Hugs and Prayers,

Trish

Good morning Trish and everyone.....

Trish...oh no...not insomnia!!!! Oh can I relate!! I am glad you slept in some today as you needed it!!! Those awful nights when no matter what you try it doesn't work. I hope your pain is much more tolerable today. Please don't overdo or tonight will be another painful night.

Yummy homemade cookie's!!!! I haven't made anything like that in at least 8 years. I know it if is around I will want some. Can't chance it. They will be a good sell at the bake sale!!!

As for me...the sun is shining brightly and it is 53 degrees with a high today of 71. Yes I am feeling better!! Thank you Lord!!

I feel better because I slept so well last night. I took an extra 1/2 of a Trazadone and I was OUT!!!! I rarely ever do that. I was just so over tired and I needed a good sleep. Remember I only had 2 hours of sleep Tuesday night!! The extra medication worked!! I called and left a message for my psychiatrist this morning so he knows what I did and to let him know I may do it again PRN. His nurse just called and she said he doesn't have a problem with that. I knew he wouldn't. He just doesn't want me taking it all the time and I wouldn't anyway.

Time to get in the shower. I made my bed and took my meds with my breakfast. Next is walking. They are having free thirty minute massages this afternoon for us residents. My body massage is scheduled at 2:30. My hand massage is after that. I can't hardly wait!! I wish I could have a deep massage but I know I can't. I will enjoy it anyway!!

Wishing you all a peaceful day.

Prayers for our precious OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for Butch and Vickie, Eileen,Judy and her mom, and also Vickie's mom. I did extra prayers for all of you this morning. I had a great talk with the Lord and it felt wonderful!!

Loads of love and bunches of hugs to all....connie d

Hey ladies,

good morning to all, and I hope it will be a beautiful Thursday in every way.  It's COLD here in southern NY.  I think I am going to put some socks on.  I caved in and put the heat on this morning, it's just too chilly!

I had to travel to visit a potential work assignment yesterday.  It was 2.5 hours each way (accounting for some traffic) plus the 1 hour meeting.  It was a lovely sunny day so I didn't mind the travel, and the meeting went very well, so I think this will be my initial work assignment.  I will drive up on Monday morning, stay in a hotel for 3 nights, and home on Thursday evening.  But the nice thing is, I won't have to deal with flying every week, and if something comes up here at home, I can drive back.  It would be a good situation.  Let's see how it goes - I won't hear anything until next week, it seems.

The down side to yesterday is, while I planned my food around the trip I left my little cooler bag here at home. Whoops! So I was very, very under on my protein yesterday. By the time I got back last night, I had to go directly to rehearsal with my band.  By the time we were done it was 9:30, too late for eating.  So, I had a small glass of milk (for some protein)... and today is a new day  But all is well on my end - feeling good and making good progress.  Another piece of good news, from a WLS/NSV front:  I crossed my legs in the meeting!!!!!!!!!! It has been at least 11 or 12 years since I was last able to do that. I was so excited it was hard to concentrate at first. So that's one checked off my NSV Goal list!

Trish, hope the coffee was good!!

Vickie, I hope Butch and your travel is safe and uneventful, and of course my prayers go with you both.  You are welcome to come here and beautify my patio and deck, anytime!!!! It looks just lovely.

Connie, my dear friend, I hope you got some rest overnight. Your posts made me tired!!

Kathy, that's right, my surgeon didn't recognize me. It was pretty funny. You are doing SO GREAT already! I lost 10 pounds in my entire pre-op period!!! I'm so proud of you. I hope you take your NUT's and our advice.  Just stay consistent with number of days a week and back off a bit - so you're not in so much pain!

oh my gosh, I am drawing a blank on all the other posts yesterday. I read them and enjoyed them and send you all my prayers and hugs too. I'm working at home today so I will check back in later and catch up a bit more.

Till then.... take care and try to behave yourselves! (You know I'm just kidding, you are all lovely ladies!)

Hello Christine....sorry it is so cold in NY today....it is sunny and lovely here this morning....high today of 71...Weeeeeeee!!!!!!

Thank you...I am feeling better today. I slept great last night and that sure helped!!

Your work situation does sound great...I pray it all works out for you.

Doesn't that feel great to cross your legs because you can!!!!! I remember way back when that first happened. I was at a after WLS meeting. WOW...that was such a great feeling...even if it is really bad for us to do!!!   Yes get that checked off your list!!

Sorry you forgot your lunch....I used to put my car keys on my cooler so I remembered to take it. Always keep a protein bar in your purse...Pure Protein has 20 grams of protein. I still keep one in my purse for when my appointments go over. I know you will be back on track today!!

WE are LOVELY CRAZY ladies!! We happen to love being naughty now and then...LOL!!!!

Have a great day...much love and hugs to you...connie d

Good afternoon Ladies!

It is after 2pm here and I have been a lazy girl all morning. Got up to eat breakfast at 10 & went back to bed, got up at noon to shower, went back to bed...finally got up a half hour ago!

I HAVE NO PROBLEM SLEEPING! Unlike poor Connie & Trish I can pretty much will myself to sleep any time of the day or night. I feel so bad for you guys w/insomnia and/or pain. I start to get anxiety when I cannot sleep & I hate that shaky feeling.

It is cold here...in the 50's & raining. I don't really mind it except I need to do my walk. I did go back to twice/daily for less time. Maybe it will clear...

Trish, you're up there w/Vickie running around all the time! Like Connie, I could not even entertain the thought of baking...especially cookies...or brownies. Chocolate was my downfall.

Connie, I would love a free massage. I'm jealous! I try to get Jim to give me one - back in the day he used to for 20-30 minutes, but that doesn't happen much anymore.

Christine, thank you for the compliments...you know that due to my heart condition in particular, my health in general and wanting to be around for Jazz as long as possible I NEED to follow through on this surgery & the sooner I 'get it' (eating & exercising) the better off I will be.

I cannot get over your surgeon not recognizing you...does that not speak volumes? You are doing fantastic! I have talked to my NUT about plan B if I am in certain situations as they are bound to happen, and you handled yours well.

I am such a homebody I would hate to be away from home 3 nites/week. One of the things I hated when I reached management level at my last job was being on call 24/7 and being called out at all hours. Just being detained on a regular basis at quitting time took it toll...and on holidays it got to be a family joke that if my cell rang & I looked at the caller ID & it was work Jazz would say 'It's Wacky calling! (her name for my agency.)

I have my endoscopy tomorrow & am very nervous. Never had one before. Please say a prayer in the morning. I hate to be put under b/c of the chronic afib where my heart rythmm goes crazy when it feels like it & increases my chances of a stroke. Being nervous seems to set it off worse.

The good thing is that this is my last pre-op hurdle. I then have 3 more NUT appts. & then I should be good to go.

Oh, and one last thing I found hilarious. I have lost 40 pounds & am noticing changes in my body. I haven't been down this far in several years. Anyhow, as I use the bathroom I have noticed something different about my thighs, but could not figure what it was. This morning I realized my stomach has shrunk to the point where I can see my upper thighs! I realized what I could not figure out was my thigh looked longer...LOL!

I just can't wait to get to the other side!

Good luck on the endoscopy tomorrow. It's not difficult. Much easier than the other end. You might even be out for it. They give you sedation to relax you, they spray some yucky stuff in your throat and after that, you might be out. Depends on the doc. My guy in Grand Rapids kept me relaxed but awake (conscious sedation), played Beatles tunes and let me watch the procedure on TV. Then he came back and talked to me about the results. He was pretty good. Others don't say a lot to you during or after.

Hello Kathy....I am finally able to answer your post. I have never ever been able to sleep like you do. I can't imagine how awesome that would be!! I just want 8 hours!!!

I am glad you adjusted your walking. I think that will be much better for you right now. You will have the WLS and then you will be moving faster then you thought possible!!

You and I think the same way about baking...no way..can't do it....I would eat them until I got sick!!! Chocolate Chip are my favorite.....mmmmm!! Oh well.. it was a nice thought for a little while.

The massage was awesome....oh my...I could have fallen asleep. I just floated back to my apartment!! I haven't been that relaxed in a very long time!

You will do fine with your Endoscopy tomorrow. You won't remember anything about it. They will relax you so fast you won't be thinking how the test is going. It goes pretty fast...don't blink...you will miss it!!! I will be saying extra special prayers for you!!

YAY...you already noticed a weight loss moment...see how great you are doing!!!! NO...your thighs didn't get longer...LOL!!!

Love and many hugs to you...connie d

Thank you, Connie!

I hope it goes smoothly! I am glad you enjoyed your massage! You need a massuse (spelling) to visit you at bedtime everynite! Then maybe you could get some decent sleep!

Funny (not!) how I never missed my upper thighs for so long!

I'm off for my shower. Will get back tomorrow!
