Totally Tuesday
DH and I didn't make it to the steak house. I got a text from our friends and they wanted us to meet them at an Thai restaurant, so we did. It was nice outside, so we all ate on the patio. I love Thai food, and I can actually eat pretty the really spicy stuff. I have to watch for the peanut butter sauces but this particular place has allergy warnings.
After dinner, DH and I walked all over the mall before he finally sat down outside of Pennys and I ran in for underwear shopping. When I first lost weight and got under 200 pounds, I remember how crazy I got for shoes and for panties. Holy cow. For years, I bought the largest panties I could buy and because my belly was so huge, I had to turn them around and put the back part in the front, so losing weight and getting to wear all those little panties that were so cute just made me crazy. Shoes were the same way. After years of being shoe and panty crazy, now I just get sensible pairs of both. I did buy a gown but only because it was very cheap and because I like the way its made and know I will make a pattern out of it and make me more with better material and longer. I hate short gowns.
Today is my long day at work. I am working on a journal article for a writing center journal so after the writing center closes, I will lock myself, my coffee pot, and my research inside my office and try and get a good draft started.
Ladies...have a good day and be kind to yourselves. Vic, Eileen, Judy, and Connie...you gals take some time away from your hectic lives and breathe. We should all pick a time during the day when we will all stop, move away from the noise, and just breathe....If you ladies want to do a cross country meditation/prayer, join me at 2:00 PM Central time.
Good morning Jeannie and everyone.....
Jeannie....it sounds like you ended up with a good dinner after all. Sorry your hubby missed his steak. It was nice that you had friends to share the meal with.
I am glad you got to Penney's to get your new panties and gown. I am older then dirt and I still wear pretty little panties. I love animal print so I have a lot of those. Plus I love all the lace and such. I have some cute fun ones too. I am also crazy about having bras that match. Our difference is that I love short gowns. I don't want anything touching my knees. Most times I just wear sleep shorts and a tank top. I have a shoe thing too. Lots of wedge and stiletto heels. I miss wearing them buy I sure can't right mow!!
I love the 2:00 breathe time. I try to do that throughout the day. It does make me feel better. I will be there!!!! What a great idea to do it together!!
Hope your day goes by quickly and you don't stay the night in your office. I know you can get into something and keep on going!! Don't forget lunch of some kind!!!
I feel better today and I pray it lasts more then one day!! My cousin is coming over to take me out to put flowers on my mom and dad's graves. I used to do grandparents and such but I just can't do everyone anymore. I will only have enough energy to do mom and dad's. I have a large urn on a stand that I fill with flowers every year. I told my sister last year was her turn and I ended up doing it. This year is her turn and again. She doesn't know how to get there. Funny thing is she manages to get everywhere else!! Plus the cousin that is taking me lives in my sister's apartment building. She could ask her but oh no she can't do that! I told her next year she better plan ahead she has a son in town!!
As for me....like I just said it is cemetery day. I really do like to go out there and talk to my parents. I used to do that a lot. I think just that out of six kids (1 dead) I am the only one that goes there with flowers. A couple other ones used to go and put out flowers. Since I do the urn they figure they can be included in that!! Sorry about all the whining!!
Wishing you all a beautiful day!!
Hoping Vickie's mom and Judy's surgeries went well. I am sending prayers.
Prayers for all our special OFF Family and their families.
Lots of love and many hugs to all....connie d
Good morning everyone, happy Tuesday!
Stopping by for a quick hello before diving into work. I haven't started my protein shake yet but I will have to do that while working this morning. I know we aren't supposed to eat and do anything else but, sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do...
I went to my program support group last night and scored some Bariatric Advantage samples. I wish these support groups were more focused on discussion topics but the coordinator does bring in vendors and other interesting folks. I caught up with a few post ops that inspired me before surgery, and my surgeon (who is also the head of the hospitals bariatric program) stopped in to say hello to us. He didn't recognize me and did a double take when I "introduced" myself! He gave me a high five and a big hug. He is truly a caring man.
This is just a quick post this morning, as I have a conference call in a few minutes... lots going on in Christineland today :-). But I am putting that 2pm Centra / 3pm Eastern cross country meditation on my schedule. Jeannie, that is a wonderful idea!
Hope to stop back later to catch up. Prayers and hugs to all, especially to Judy (I think your surgery is today) and to Vickie's Mom for her surgery. Chat on, ladies and have a lovely day!

137 pounds lost - from a 24/26W to a size 8/10!
Hello Christine...sometimes things happen and we have to eat on the go....such is life!! At least you will have something!!
I love those Bariatric samples...they are most times really good!! I wish I could afford to buy from "Bariatric Advantage". I really love their products, especially the chewy calcium. They come in flavors, my favorite is chocolate!! The price just kept going up so I had to quit. Now my insurance covers my calcium and vitamins and such. They cover only ones prescribed from my doctor and must go through the pharmacy.
I am glad your surgeon got to see you...that is wonderful!!! Big surprise for him huh!!!
Have a good day at work...lots of love and hugs...connie d
Good morning sweet sistas!
Just a quick pop-in right now. Got to get showered and changed and ready to take Mom to the surgeon's office. He is doing the procedure outpatient with just local anesthesia, so that's good. That thing (I can't remember the name of it) on her leg just keeps growing and growing. I am SO glad we are getting it taken care of today.
Well, y'all know the saying, "no good deed goes unpunished"? Apparently that applies to self as well as to others. Yesterday I tripped and fell on my driveway and scraped my knee. I also tore a hole in my favorite pair of capris, so I guess they're my yard pants now. Anyway, the point is that I was doing my gardening and I was carrying a flat of marigolds when I fell. I was determined to save them, so I went down hard. If I had had my hands free, I probably could have caught myself. That's what I mean by "no good deed". I was trying to do a good deed for myself.
And then last night Butch said he was in the mood for a dessert. So I threw together a cherry crumble. I gave him a little dish with some ice cream and a bit of the cherry pie on top. He said it was so good and ate every bite! But then he threw it all up about an hour later. No good deed.
Oh, and one more: yesterday I was making some new hummer juice for the "honey birds" (as Benny calls them!), and I managed to boil the sugar water over and it made a carmelized black MESS on my new smooth top cook top. Holy Cow! Does anyone here have one of these new-fangled dang things? How do I clean it? I know I can't use scouring powder or an SOS pad on it. I worked on that damn spill off and on all afternoon and last night. No good deed, not even for the honey birds!
I did manage to get into bed last night without further mishap! LOL!
Okay, gotta go. I'll check back this afternoon and see what everyone is up to today. Love you all!
Hello Vickie....I think we need to send you some bubble wrap. No more falling...like you tell me...slow down!!! I am glad you didn't break anything!! I am proud you for making the effort to save the marigolds!!
I am happy Butch had an appetite for desert last night....sorry he ended up not keeping it down. Poor Butch....prayers continue!!
I laughed and laughed...Benny and his Honey Birds!!! I think he has it right!! Sorry you burnt your hummer juice.
I am glad you made it to bed without incident!!
Love and hugs to you..don't forget to BREATHE at your scheduled time...connie d
Vickie....OMG!!!! Not sure what to use to clean it off but maybe some vinegar??? Maybe Krud Cutter might also work on it...but read the bottle first...couple different types out there...or find the name plate on the stove Rick said and there should be an 800 number you can call and ask them.
