Good Morning All !!

Well, I had a good night sleep finally.  Allelulia!!  Took one of my anxiety meds, and it relaxed me. I don't take them often, because I usually drag in the morning first thing, and since I have to take Jim to the clinic every day, I don't like to be foggy when I first wake up.  So I took the pill around 9:00 rather than waiting to 11:00, slept until 7:15 and I am rested and clear-headed. Still, it is not something I do often at all - don't want to get in the habit of taking it -- but I'm thankful I can take it when I really need it.  I can't imagine people who take it all the time, or take higher doses - I take the smallest possible dose.

Well, today I go make payment on a RV -- it's used but in excellent condition - and I have a five day period to inspect, try it out, etc. - if I don't like it, I can return it at no expense.  And I have verified that info so I don't get stuck.  I called my insurance agent, he gave me a quote of $900 to fully insure it, collision included, year round. And I think, have to double-check, that during the winter I can reduce the coverage (ie, exclude collision) to save money.  So I've been reading everything I can about hook-ups, dump stations, etc., and reading about parks, etc.  Some people will say I'm crazy - but it's something I've wanted to do for a long time.  I don't plan on making it a lawn ornament - I plan on using it.  I'm going to check in at a local campground to see about their "dumping station" -- maybe I can take some day-trips and then "dump" when I get home!  During the week, rates are cheaper than on week-ends -- another benefit of being "retired".  And besides, it gives me something to escape from the zombies in, if that day ever comes!!  LOL!!

I hope everyone is doing well today.  It is beautiful out - I'm hoping to go to Home Depot to pick up some buckets and potting soil and flower and veggie plants -- want to set up some flower pots on my steps. Next year I'll plant "in the ground" maybe -- but containers are easy.

Finishing my first cup of coffee - then will go wake Jim up so I can take him to his appointment.

Hope you all have a great day.  Prayers and good wishes to all!!

Mary

Good Morning Mary and OFF,

I was wiped out yesterday.  The boys were wonderful last night.  We played Battleship, Hi-Ho Cherry-O, and Chutes and Ladders.  Then, we watched Wall-E.  Poor Frankie, I had to set up the DVD player for it, and he thought we wouldn't get to watch it.  He kept saying, "Watch the robot movie?  Love him to pieces.  Lincoln too.

Lincoln has a football game and then I have to hit some more yard sales.  I'm looking for a frying pan for Sean.

Better scoot.  Football game is in 30 minutes.

Love,

Trish

Hi Connie,

I almost forgot to mention that I am going to see Isabel in Cinderella.  She and her cousin play mice and townspeople.  I am so excited for her.

Love you,

Trish

Mary,

You sound like my DH.  He is wanting to buy an RV, but I remind him that I am never retiring so he would be on the road by himself and his long distance driving skills are horrible.   Our grandson, the one we had custody of as a baby, says Granddad buy the RV and when I learn how to drive, I'll travel around with you and we can see everything.   I am not the least bit interested in traveling; I do enough of that with my job.

I have been absent from posting the last few days because of the nearing of the end of our academic and fiscal year. I have tons of reports to turn in and my strategic plan for next year to make as well as all the other crap that comes with being a center director who also teaches and trains new faculty...help me...I have six weeks to get it all done and in the middle of next month, I am heading on a seven-day-working-vacation....lovely.   I know I sound stressed, but truthfully, I love it.

Eileen, I agree with what others have said and you have concurred...don't talk to that man.  The anger he held for you spending money on yourself even though you were supporting him is an example of his narcism....spend on him only.   I am so happy he is out of your life and I cannot wait until your brother moves in with you.

Vic, my heart breaks for the decisions you are making and what you are and will be going through over the next few months.   We are all here for you.

Connie, you are so sweet to keep everyone comforted and supported while those of us who are so stressed pull back.   What would we do without you?

Ladies, I hope you all have a fantastic Saturday and if there is a bottle of good wine near, get out the good wine glass, rinse that sucker out, find a corner where no one can bother you, get a book, an iPad, a laptop, a smart phone, and put on some music, and take that bottle and that glass and take a little wine break...do it for me because I am going to be in my office all weekend working on my end of the year reports.

Hello Jeannie....I missed you these last few days!! I figured you were missing because of all the last minute things you need to finish up. When I grow up I want to be just like YOU!!!!  Seriously...I used to be that way and not that many years ago. I could never get tired or bored with what I was doing. You go for it girl!!!! I am over the moon happy for you!! I am sure everyone would be just fine without me here...I just chat too much to everyone!!! I love you all!!!!!

I wish I had some wine. My daughter was going to bring me some on Mother's Day and I told her not to. They have a wonderful wine cellar with lots of great wines!! They entertain so much. I just decided with all the medications for pain that I am on I better not be drinking. I haven't had any alcohol in about 3 years now. Every now and then I just wish I had a glass! You know what I mean? I do have a few really beautiful wine glasses!!!

Take a break now and then and take care of YOU!!!

Loads of love and bunches of hugs....connie d

Better Safe Than Sorry!!!   Whew!!  I almost got SCAMMED big time.  Glad I'm always super careful.  Last month, I almost got scammed on Craigslist - was trying to get a puppy, and was all set to send money, but something was "off" and it turned out person listing dog had tried to scam someone else, who posted the info warning others.

Now -- I called E-Bay to verify the motorhome listing was legit.  It Was Not!!  Reviewed facts about invoice I received, and it had all the markings of a Scam.  So no motorhome.  :(  Things work out for a reason I guess.....  Dam, I was looking forward to it.
