Morning Trish -- you're the early bird today!  Up and at 'em early.

I'm not planning on doing much today - will finish mowing the side yard and the rest of the back yard.  Jim mentioned maybe getting some outdoor furniture - that's a change.  There's a giant yard sale Memorial Day Weekend run by a local boy scout troop.  They have them Memorial Day and July 4th, and they always have great stuff - I've gotten some great deals in the past -- so maybe I can find a patio set there -- or some other yard sale over that weekend.  I love moving sales, yard sales and thrift shops!!  Sometimes when people are moving, they practically give things away.

Yesterday I saw a small RV on Craig's List - a really nice one at a great price.  I sent an e-mail about it.  Sometimes people are willing to barter, and I offered Jim's motorcycle for it.  Or, if they're not interested in that, I asked if they would let us do a payment plan - over two or three months.  I told Jim I'd be willing to go in on this one, because it is a low price -- but other than that, he would have to do his own wheeling and dealing -- I'll save my money for some of the projects I need done.

I wish I could get a part-time job .... but I can't do that for another year, because besides my Social Security, I get a small Long Term Disability chec****il I'm 65, which would be September of next year.  Under Social Security, I could work, but not under this Long Term Disability. When I was working, I used to make extra money baking cakes and making candy, but I can't do that now because I don't have a "customer base" like I did when I worked.  I told Maura she and I should take some cake decorating classes because she'd be able to get customers through her friends and at work.  She has paid $75-$100 for birthday cakes for Taylor -- there is such good money in selling these home-made goodies.

I'm going to finish my morning coffee, then have breakfast and go out and do some yard work.

Hope you all have a good day.  Prayers and good wishes to all.

Mary

Hello Mary.....I love garage sales and thrift stores and any other kind of sale!!! Not driving has limited me from going to any.

Good luck with possibly getting that RV. Have you called and checked about insurance and licences and such? I know the RV will be way higher then a car. I think having one would be so much fun!!! I hope it works out for you!!

With a cake making business you would need to check out what kind of licences and equipment you will need. OSHA is very picky about those things. It sounds like a great idea!!

Time for me to f go lay down and ice myself.

Have a good day...much love and many hugs to you...connie d

Good morning Ladies! Just another manic Monday... LOL

working from home today, and plan to multitask with some cleaning chores and such. We have family coming in to town for my stepdaughter Cassie's college graduation this weekend. I am thrilled for her and stunned... Honestly there were many times when I didn't think she would make it. She almost failed out a few times, but she buckled down and got it done. I am so happy for her! And proud! So we have family coming in to town for the weekend and the house is a wreck. We did get a lot done outside, which is great. If the weather ins good we will be outside, anyway. So every day I will chip away at some of the bigger items indoors, or that's my plan. Thank goodness I'm working at home for the time being. Otherwise I would need a miracle or a cleaning fairy of my own to get it done. :-)

I have my food planned and already got my exercise in this morning. I have always wanted to try Zumba but I am not so sure my knees could handle it. So I fired up a beginners Zumba workout this morning on Youtube and had a blast. I didn't have to worry about not being able to do all the moves. I just kept on dancing and moving. I made it through 20 minutes, and I will keep doing this until I can through an entire workout. I will get there! And now, holy COW I'm sore. But in a good way: I used muscles I hadn't used In loooooooooooooooong time! My waist and abs are complaining, but that's good. They are going to complain a lot over the coming weeks, months and years! LOL

Trish, have fun with Frankie!

Mary, I wonder if there is any other way you could find a customer base for your baking.  There is a company called Vistaprint and they make business cards super cheaply ($10 or sometimes even free.) they have beautiful designs and it's super easy to make beautiful cards.  Maybe you could print some cards up and just put them up on supermarket boards, or something like that?  Just a thought.  You could also try posting something in Craigslist or even on Facebook. Both are free and hey, you never know.  I wish I loved closer, as I would happily have you make the cake for my stepdaughters party!

Well ladies, I pray you will all have a beautiful day.  Hugs and prayers to all.

Christine

good Morning Everyone!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day! I certainly did! got a lot of nice gifts from my daughters and Jasmyn, and spent half the day w/Jim's mom & sister and the evening with my crew!

Didn't eat as healthy as I would have liked, but stayed under my calorie goal. I DO feel bad I got NO walking in...I literally SAT all day. But I am back at it today!

Christine, the pounds are just dropping off you! doing such a fantastic job. I am not up to zumba or any high impact exercises yet, but hopefully I can follow suit after the surgery.

Mary, my project this week is to sand down the back deck/Jim2's wheelchair ramp to be repainted. It is his job to cut the grass on his tractor & weedwhack from his chair. I hate sanding, but this winter was so rough we have peeling stain and paint everywhere!

I wish I liked to bake, but have no talent for it. Jim did most of our cooking. I always admired ppl who could bake and cook. I hope you can put that talent to good use...Christine had some good ideas.

Jim2 and I thought about buying a used RV, but one of the things that made us reconsider was the cost of replacement parts. I was told tires easily cost more than car tires, and there are more of them. Plus the upkeep. Jim used to be good at that kind of stuff and minor car repairs, but with him being in a wheelchair we'd end up stranded if it broke down. I had SO looked forward to traveling the country in one when we were older...haha...we're older now...but we had to cross that off the list. So I envy you the possibility of getting one!

I am sorry to hear Jim is not taking care of himself and following thru with the doctor. the fallout from that always comes back on the caretaker. He sounds like in some ways he has just given up.

Tri**** always sounds like you have such a good relationship with your grandkids! I miss not being able to spoil Jasmyn like we used to before we took over custody.

Vickie, glad you and Butch made it home and he is doing better. Like Connie said being in the hospital is so stressful especially when you have a million other things to do at home. Unfortunately, as his chemo treatments progress he may become more frail so I hope he does not have many treatments to go.

I also echo Connie and the other ladies about what happened with your 2 daughters over the weekend. I can't believe that on Mother's Day weekend...and after Butch just got out of the hospital...you had to deal with that fallout. I have 3 daughters and I can relate to the "mamabear' coming out...especially when I am already stressed.

Judy, I love the truck you bought! I would love to have one, but I would never be able to haul my fat ass up into it. This past summer we were at a bar-b-q and my niece had just bought a house nearby. She told us to all jump in the truck and she would drive us the few blocks to see it. the young ppl all jumped in the bed of the truck so I tried to get in the front passenger seat. They tried pulling me, pushing me, etc. but no go! One of those I have to get this freakin weight off moments. so no truck for me right now!!!

Connie, sorry the weather is making your pain worse! I think we are going right into summer...it has been in the 80's and humid as hell...then it storms for awhile. But I will not complain after this winter!

Well, I better get out back and do some more sanding before Jim2 comes hunting me down. The problem with men is if they see you take a break they think they are entitled to one so yougotta keep it moving...lol

I could never have attempted anything other than gentle pool workouts or my stationary bike while pre-op.  It's a dream come true for me to do anything on my feet.  Please do believe in yourself, you will get there and WLS will give you the tool you need.  You're doing AMAZINGLY WELL - I came no where close to your success before surgery.  As everyone here told me - and now I say to you - post op is a wild ride.  Every time I get on the scale I am shocked to see it continuing to go down, down, down!  I'm going to ride that wave all the way down, as far as I need to.  And so will you!

Hello Kathy.....yes Mother's Day was wonderful. We had a really good time!! If my pain wouldn't have been so bad it could have been even better. I really did enjoy my time with Carrie and Kyleigh!!

It sounds like you did okay with your meals...you managed to stay in your calorie range and that is very good! Don't be so hard on yourself sweetie!!

I wi**** was 80 degrees here...cold and wet for us. The temp now at 1:30 PM is at 46....high today 49...wooohoo! I so need the sun!!

Hope you get all the chores done that you want to get done today!!

Lots of love and oodles off hugs...connie d

I'm back.  Frankie wasn't feeling well when I got to Colleen's this morning.  Normally, he doesn't get to watch TV when I am there, but she let him lay on her bed and watch Disney Jr.  He loves Mickey Mouse.  After about an hour he asked for an apple, and then wanted to play with his monster trucks, Lego guys, and airplanes.  He also had some goldfish crackers, which are the only junk food that isn't totally junk coz it has protein.

I called my Mom while I was with him, so he could say hello to her.  I got him to sing "Jesus Loves Me" for her.

The rest of the day is exercise, and cleaning.  If it doesn't rain, I'll cut the grass in the backyard. I love the idea of Zumba, and I'm going to try it too.

I'm glad everyone appeared to have a good Mothers Day.

Love and Hugs,

Trish

Hello Trish and everyone.....

Trish...I am so sorry Frankie wasn't feeling well. Mickie mouse must of had some special potion to make him better!! Glad he felt well enough to play and sing to his Great Grandma. I love listening to children sing!! That is a favorite song of mine too.

I am glad your outside is almost completely mowed now....for a few days anyway!! I tried Zumba...I can't do it. I really wanted too but my body says no. Oh well at least I do something!!

I bet you will do great with Zumba. I have too much arthritis and pain. Enjoy!!!!

As for me...nothing much happening here. I sure had a nice time with my family. I am so torn about moving and if I do where will it be!!

I just came in a little bit ago from doing my walking. It is so humid in here I can't hardly breath right. I get winded anyway and this added too it. I am going to use my rescue inhaler and then do a Nebulizer treatment. I may have to close windows and put the A/C on it the humidity doesn't clear away.

It is another crappy day weather wise. More rain, thunder and lightening. I just have to cope as best I can!

I pray all is well with Eileen. Prayers too for Vickie and Butch.

I just found out I  am getting a different cleaning fairy. My regular one is still on medical leave. The one I have had in her place had some kind of emergency and is taking some time off. I hate having to go over everything with someone new all the time. I should be thankful for getting the help!!!

Wishing you all a comforting day!

Prayers for all our beautiful OFF Friends and their families.

Bushels of love and bunches of hugs to all...connie d
