Good morning our beautiful OFF ladies and Happy Mothers Day!!!

Just checking in quickly. My daughter, Carrie and Kyleigh will be here in a couple hours. It will be nice to spend some time with them.

I am going out for my walk before they get here. I am not sure how far I will be going but I will do my best. I will crash after they leave. Not a good day for pain. It is so cold and rainy today. I will make it through the day. If the damn weather would quit the changes ever couple days I would be fine. All of you with Fibro and Arthritis can understand this. Eileen especially understands!!

I will be checking in later. Have a wonderful Mother's Day!!!

Prayers for our awesome OFF Family and their families.

I sure hope all is going well for Butch and Vickie. Maybe the girls and grandchildren will be with them today. I love you Vickie and I am still sending prayers for both of you!

Loads of love and bunches of hugs to all....connie d

Hello Judy and Happy Mothers Day!!!

Sorry you couldn't get your car cleaned up....maybe another day! It rained and stormed here most of the day. It was in the upper 70's yesterday...today 46! I am calling it a night soon!!

Laundry...ugh...on Mother's Day...relax sweetie! Actually Kyleigh did an extra load of linens for me today, 2 sets. My cleaning fairy would have had to do three loads on Wednesday and I can guarantee there won't be enough washers to get that many done. Kyleigh did them so I wouldn't have to on Wednesday. That made me happy!!

Carrie, Kyleigh and I had a great day together. I had just heated a nice ham I had in the freezer. We had mashed potatoes and cauliflower, broccoli and carrots for a veggie. I had fresh fruit for a desert. We all love it and it was good for us. There was strawberries, raspberries, blueberries and blackberries. We had so much fun laughing and talking about old times!!! I was sad to see them go!!! I treasure those times together!!

Amanda and Tyler couldn't come because Tyler's Mom was in town for his birthday. They had plans for camping and fishing up north. The weather was great Friday and Saturday. They couldn't do much today but inside things. They plan on coming to visit me soon. I can't wait!! When they come Lucas will come with them.

CRAB LEGS...YUMMO!!!! Good for you...that will be wonderful!!

Love you girlfriend...hugs....connie d

Happy Mothers Day Connie, and OFF Sisters,

I am just settling in after church.  Had a good morning in spite of some AWOL helpers.  Colleen's sis-in-law offered to cover Toddlers, and both workers came for Infants.  I got to sit at my desk and listen to the sermon.  Then, between Church and Sunday School, Frankie and one of his cousins left early.  So did one of the other boys in Toddlers, so that left his other cousin in Toddlers, and one baby in Infants, so we took the Toddler over to Infants to play with her baby sister.  Then, the two people who were helping me sent me to Sunday School.  I love our women's class, but rarely get there.  Chris called while I was at church, but I missed it coz I always put my phone on silent, even if I'm in Nursery.  I called him back a minute ago, but he needs to call me back in a few minutes.

It's raining here, so that cancels my tentative plans to take Utley for a ride.  I was going to go exploring.  When my kids were little, we always went for Sunday rides after church, just driving and exploring.  We'd get lost, but see some neat things.  When we lived in Massachusetts we would scope out the beaches in New Hampshire, and Maine, and all the historic places, like Boston, Lexington, Concord, the authors' homes in that area.  Concord was home to so many authors.  Then right outside of Concord were some authors' home, like Thoreau's house near Walden Pond.  I'll go exploring another time.  We did all this exploring before they invented GPS devices.  Our philosophy was if there is gas in the car, we ain't totally lost.

On the way home from church, I stopped at the IGA to pick up lunch.  Saw about 8 folks from church.  I'm treating myself to my second favorite meal for Mothers Day.  My favorite is lobster, but I can't have shellfish, unless I am off my Coumadin for a procedure or dental work.  So, I bought a T-bone steak, which I am marinating in teriyaki sauce.  I love that.  I also bought fresh corn.  My favorite side dish, other than salad, which I already have the fixings for.

Well, I just got off the phone with Chris.  He had helped pay for dinner yesterday, as well as the DVD's he chipped in on.  I now own the first three seasons of Downton Abbey.  So, for Mothers Day he posted a beautiful photo of yellow tulips he saw in Central Park last weekend on my Timeline, so I made it my Cover Photo.  That we he can honestly say he bought me dinner, DVDs and flowers for Mothers Day.  Don't worry, he has sent me flowers before.  When I was in the hospital, he sent me an adorable arrangement.

Well, started this post a while ago, but have also been watching the Phillies game.  I hope everyone has a wonderful Mothers Day.  Connie, I'm glad you get to spend some time with your daughter and granddaughter.

Must scoot.

Love,

Trish

Hello Trish......I recently took another Vicodin....I am getting fuzzy so I can't post too much longer.

That was nice that you got to go into Sunday School. That must have been really fun!

Sorry it is all rainy for you too today!! Yesterday was so gorgeous...I don't like these changes! Tomorrow is more of the same for us.... rain and high winds and storms. Glad I don't have to go out in it!

That was very sweet of Chris to call and wish you a Happy Mother's Day and to post some flowers. I think that was very sweet!

I miss a good steak...I just haven't been able to eat it anymore. Your meal sounded wonderful!

I hope you can find a day to go exploring...I know how much you love it!

Have a great evening..and a good sleep tonight!

Lots of love and hugs....connie d

Happy Mother's Day, sweet sistas!

I think all of us have babies of some kind or another--our babies, grandbabies, furbabies--they all count today!

I wanted to post all day yesterday, but just never got the chance.  To say it was a wild and crazy day would be an understatement indeed.  Whew!  Things are never calm and easy around here.  (I don't know why that is exactly, but it's the truth.)

I don't want to talk about bad things today, so I'll skip the whole Christie/Mike drama and the Carrie/Leo trauma.  Really.  I just don't want to talk about it all today.  But yesterday was a killer.  I was ready to run away from home.  Connie, you almost had a house guest!  LOL!

Anyway, I did manage to score big on some patio furniture yesterday!  Of course, it's a DIY project for me.  But that's okay.  I saved quite a substantial amount of money, and I like projects, so this one will keep me happy.  I bought a solid wood three-seater frame for an outdoor sofa and a matching single chair at a resale type shop for $135!!!  Whoo hoo!  All of the three seater sofas I've seen at the patio furniture stores run well over $1000!  (Really, most of them are over $2000--unbelievable.)  So then I went to JoAnn's Fabrics and the outdoor fabric was 50% off.  I bought a solid green and a multicolored stripe to make all the cushions and welting out of.  And then I bought just a little of the most darling white fabric with blue and green birds on it for throw pillows.  I bought about 20 yards of fabric total, so I spent a lot, but at the same time, the sofa set was so low, I could afford it!  Now I need to order some outdoor foam cushions and then find the time (and space) to sew!  Big project, but I'll have fun doing it.

I've got my mother's day presents ready to go.  I shopped at the hospital gift shop on Friday because who knew if we were ever going to get out of there.  They really had some cute things!  I bought for the boys to have something to give everyone today (because I figured Mike wouldn't think of it, and sure enough, he didn't), and I wanted the boys to be able to give presents.  I bought a coffee mug and a coffee refrigerator magnet for the boys to give Chris.  Each one has a present to give Mommy.  They are giving Mommaw (my mom) a new pair of slippers.  And they're giving me 2 beautiful African violets in the sweetest little ceramic pots.  They are yellow and white with bees on them.  One says "Bee happy" and the other says "Let it Bee".  So cute!

I've got my Mother's Day dinner all prepared and waiting to pop in the oven.  I went the easy route.  I made a chicken n rice casserole, green beans, rolls and I bought an Italian Creme Cake for dessert.  Oh, and some chocolate covered strawberries.  That's it.  I made a big pitcher of sun tea.  And there's juice for the boys.  That's about all I could manage for today.

I sure am hoping we have a much calmer week next week.  I need some time to get things settled around here!  The boxes still rule in every corner of this house.  Driving me bats!  But what could I do?  I was at the hospital with Butch all last week.  I'm continually going out in the garage and shifting boxes around trying to find this or that.  I still haven't located my knives or my cutting boards!  Grrrr.  I'm dicing onions and celery using this one itty bitty DULL knife I have here, and I'm using paper plates for cutting boards.  This is no way to cook!  LOL!

Oh, and I DON'T like this dishwasher at all.  It doesn't dry the dishes!  They come out wet and I have to hand dry them all before I can put them away.  I see a new dishwasher in my future, but not right away.  Too much other stuff to pay for and accomplish first.

So, I guess that's about all the news.  I guess I will tell y'all that Christie and Mike busted up this weekend.  He's moved out already.  It's a mess.  And Leo did the most hurtful and dastardly thing to Carrie last week.  Oh, I could just go up to Waco and knock that ******* into next week!  My girls are not perfect, but they don't either one deserve to be treated like this.  This mama bear is ready to growl!

Well, I love you all!  I'm hoping for a normal week next week and a chance to "chat" with each of you.

Just wonderful....he could have waited until after Mother's Day. I hope the jerk pays child support. He has to do that!!! No more Mr Nice guy for him!! Also with Butch as ill as he is...Dip Stick Mike could have hung on awhile longer...at least until you guys are all settled in. I want to kick his ass too!!! GRRRRRRRR!!!!! Tell Christie to check things over to see what he may have taken!! I am so sorry this happened...to both girls!!

I keep praying that all things go better for you this coming week!

Happy Mother's Day, Ladies!!!

It sounds like you all had some nice plans today, and I'm so happy and glad for that. Today is a day to celebrate motherhood and to enjoy being spoiled by your children, grandchildren, etc.

Mother's Day is always a quiet and down day for me.  I have no kids (other than my dog, and he is my baby!). I have no grandchildren.  I have no living Mother nor Grandmother, and all but one Aunt are all gone now too.  So there is no celebration for me - it's just a quiet day.  But I took advantage of that and got out to get some outside decorating done, as well.  No one was out shopping today and it was quick and easy.  My yard is starting to shape up nicely.  It turned out to be a lovely afternoon here, clear and warm.  Ron and I just had some leftovers for dinner, and enjoyed them outdoors.

It's funny how many leftovers we have now that I am not eating the portions I used to. I have to buy a lot less, and we all have to prepare a lot less so food won't be wasted.  For example, last Sunday I made a batch of turkey mini-meatballs - carefully measured and WLS friendly of course!  Pre surgery there would have been no meatballs left past Monday (as I would have eaten them all) but those days are over!  Thank heavens!  Tonight, Ron made ravioli for himself and the kids, with meatballs on the side.  I had just the meatballs with some cheese on top.  And we still have about 10 meatballs left, which are now in the freezer!!  So anyway, time to scale back on the cooking volume now that my portions are tiny.  This is another good perk of WLS - the food cost savings.

Well ladies I am going to go and watch this week's episode of Nashville.  I have it on hulu (streaming) as I never stay up until 11pm, not even for my favorite shows like that one.

Have a great night!

Christine

Hello Christine....hope you are doing great!

I am glad you had a nice relaxing...low key day!! I am sure you had fun outside working on your lawn. Nothing wrong with left overs...yum!!!

Yes...isn't amazing how much less you need to cook. Thank goodness most things are freezable. I find that my groceries cost more then before. I buy much better quality meats/seafood then before. I eat lots of fresh veggies and fruit too. They are pretty expensive right now!! I buy them anyway. I don't like frozen fruit at all, especially berries.

I am about to sign off too...very groggy right now.

Lots of love and hugs...connie d
