Hi sistas! Just popping in to say hi. It looks like we will be here another day at least.  Butch's blood work this morning showed his numbers actually went down overnight. Good grief!  So they have him platelets first this morning and now he's getting the first of two units of blood. They'll do more blood work late tonight and evaluate him again. If his numbers go up and stabilize we'll get to go home tomorrow. lots of other stuff happening but it will have to wait until I can get in the computer to post.  Reading every day. Love you all!

Oh hang in there, Vickie! You are amazing.  I hope you're taking care of yourself, as well.  Sending prayers for a better result tonight and a homecoming tomorrow.

Hello Vickie.....is Butch still feeling better or is he still getting so tired? I hope they can get those numbers up soon so you can go home!!

I am hoping to that you are not overdoing. The stress of being in the hospital is bad enough. It just wears us down, mentally and physically.

I just pray and pray that Butch can kick cancers a$$ another time!! That chemo really is poison, Nic always felt that way too.

I know it probably doesn't matter too much right now, but I hope you and Butch are able to be home for Mother's Day. It would be great for all of you.

Please try to relax and rest as best you can. I got you right here in my heart. I love you my very special sister!!  I am always here for you day or night!! God Bless you both!

Loads of love  and bushels of hugs ....connie d

Hi Connie and my OFF family:

Quick checkin before I go to work. I had an early doctor's appointment this morning, a followup on my epidural from last month. The doc's PA took a look at my face, which is still bruised, and said, "What happened to you?" So I had to explain the whole thing. Having to talk about it again, sometimes it's OK, but sometimes that just makes me relive it again and again. Last couple nights, not sleeping so well ... keep waking up sweating. Don't remember any bad dreams but I keep waking up sweating.

But anyway, I'm going back to work. After my appointment, I stopped at Sam's, bought a rotisserie chicken for lunch, then to CVS for a couple of things (was hoping my lidocaine ointment would be free ... not yet!), then to the other grocery store for salad fixings, chicken thighs on sale for next week. And with all that, I still forget a Mother's Day card. So now I got to go get that before work.

Sorry about your friend, Connie. Vickie, hang in there, and I hope Butch gets stronger. Jeannie, did you know "A League of their Own" was filmed in Evansville? And Robert DiNiro was in a baseball movie called "Bang the Drum Slowly"? Good movie. He was very young and skinny.

Anyway, got to go. Have a good day.

Hello Eileen....I am just doing a quick check in before I go to bed.

I am sorry you had to tell the nurse the story all over again. That might be good though as now she will document it too.

I know it is hard to relive that situation. I have that problem on occasion too. I hope it gets easier for you soon.

I bought a rotisserie chicken on Wednesday....I have been eating on it for a couple days. I chopped up the rest and will freeze it for salads or soup. I like those chickens because the meat isn't so dry.

I hope your night at work goes well. Be cautious going into your apartment tonight.

What did the Vet say bout Juliette? I can't remember if you said anything or not. CRS!!!

Keep safe and stay strong...I am always here for you!

Love and many hugs ....connie d

Hi Connie:

Juliette has an allergy to fleas, probably. So the vet gave her a steroid shot, applied a flea preventive, cleaned off one of her really bad sores and I'll come back in about a month to try and get her vaccinations done. Nice vet, nice office.
