Good morning everyone....

I slept in until 9:00 AM at it felt so good!!!

I don't know what I will be doing today. Sundays are always so quiet around here. I will probably jus****ch movies and putter around doing this and that.  I will definitely get some reading done!!

I did go out yesterday and worked on the puzzle with some of the ladies. Today I might start a new one. I bought three and haven't opened them yet.

I will check in later to see who else has posted.

Wishing you all a peaceful day!!!

Prayers for our precious OFF Family and their families. Special prays for Butch and Vickie and of course Eileen too.

Loads of love  and bushels of hugs  ....connie d

Hello Judy.....BBQ chicken...my favorite thing to eat grilled!! So much for that. I love potato salad too! Not on my food list right now.

I hope you got the cards and mayo that you needed.

I have been wearing capri's most of the winter...it is so damn hot in here. Yesterday and so far today I can't get the temps down in here below 84 degrees. I will be putting on the A/C if it gets as bad as yesterday in here. I have been wearing tank tops and shorts for quite a while now.  I have only worn shorts outside about 6 times so far. I only had my furnace on about 3 or 4 days all winter!! We are suppose to have thunder storms off and on all day. It is very, very dark outside now...oops...here comes the rain!!

Enjoy your day today...I hope people leave you alone!!

How is your sister doing....you haven't said anything in awhile.

Much love and many hugs....connie d

P.S. Congrats on still fitting in you size 12 capri's!!!!!

Good morning Connie and Judy!  And all my OFF Sistas to come!

Judy, I have on my capris today, too.  Of course, I've been wearing mine for a month now!  LOL!  The pair I have on today are a size 18 and way too big, but I love them.  They are a light striped cotton and I have tees in all the colors of the stripes.  As soon as I get "settled", I'm going to try and alter them a bit.  I just hate to give them up.

Connie, I'm glad you got to sleep in.  I didn't get much sleep at all.  I was sound asleep (and for once, without the aid of a Tylenol PM) when my doorbell rang.  I was so confused about the time.  I truly thought it was early morning and Handyman Sam had shown up again.  Silly!  I stumbled to the door and it was my neighbor across the street (whom I haven't yet met) and she was telling me my garage door was up and the light was flashing.  Well, turns out it was about 1 a.m., not 6 a.m., and Butch's wheel chair had rolled just slightly and was blocking the sensor.  It was very sweet of her to tell me, but I never did get back to sleep very well.  I was pretty much up all night after that.

I had fun shopping with my girls yesterday.  Didn't buy anything, but did find some things I like very much.  Trouble is, I'm still afraid to buy from Rooms to Go.  Everyone agrees with me that the TV/entertainment unit there is exactly what I need.  It's the right size, color, and price.  But the reviews on Rooms to Go are horrible!  I mean only 2 1/2 stars out of 5.  This does not engender much confidence, you know?

And then I found a beautiful all-weather wicker sofa for my back porch.  Oh, I love it!  But it's so expensive!  Way over my budget of $1000 for patio furniture.  I wouldn't be able to afford the ottoman or the end tables that go with it.  Well, hell.  That's no damn good, now is it?  So, I'll keep looking...

After that, we came home.  Carrie wasn't feeling well.  I think all the lack of sleep is catching up with her.  She napped and dozed all evening and I think she slept all night, although she did hear the doorbell at 1 a.m.  She's sleeping again right now.  My poor darling girl.  So much stress on her right now.  I wish I could go up to Waco for a week and take care of her a bit, but I just can't leave Butch and Mom here alone.  Sigh.

Yesterday morning was so much fun!  Butch and Carrie and Mom and I were having breakfast when Chris and the boys dropped by.  It was great fun.  The boys love playing in the back yard, and it's so secure.  The gates are both securely locked so they can't "escape".  LOL!  And then, in a little while, Mike came over too.  I had my whole family out on the back porch enjoying the beautiful spring weather.  It was great!

Yesterday evening I played in the dirt a bit--although NOT NAKED!  LOL!  (Sorry about yesterday's post, but I just couldn't resist it!  And I thought we all needed a giggle!  It's been an intense week for all of us.)  I made up three hanging baskets, my impatiens tree, and a couple of small pots of impatiens.  I have more impatiens to plant today, as well as two really gorgeous verbenas I found at the grocery store in the most gorgeous shades of hot pink and bright purple.  I'm a fool for flowers!  I just cannot pass them up!

Today Carrie is going to help me move and shuffle some more of these damn boxes around.  I need to do some serious unpacking today.  I've played "hooky" the last couple of days.

Butch is doing okay.  Yesterday was not such a good day for him.  He had a lot of weakness and some pain yesterday.  I hope today is better for him.

I'm out of chatter.  Praying and thinking about all of you, especially Eileen today.  Love you all!

Hello Vickie....I just posted to Judy about wearing my capri's all winter and now with tank tops and shorts!! It is crazy in here!!

I am sorry you had to be bothered with the doorbell in the middle of the night!! I hope you sleep great tonight!!!

I feel bad that Butch didn't do well yesterday. That damn chemo!!

It sounds like you and your girls had fun yesterday shopping. The right patio furniture is out there waiting for you. You will find it!!

Sorry Carrie has been sick...she doesn't have the same sickness that Christie had does she??? Probably stress..it is a hard time for her right now.

It sounds like all of you were out on the patio enjoying the day yesterday!!

Your beautiful yard is coming to life...all of your pretty flowers!

Love you much...buckets of hugs....connie d

Hi Connie, Judy and Vickie and my OFF family to come:

I'm hunkering down in my apartment, not doing a whole lot. So much of my body hurts all the time, and of course, my psyche. Talked with mom today but didn't tell her. She asked about Richard but I told her he left to visit his cousin in Indy and wouldn't be back. I don't want her to worry. In a way, I want to tell her, but I would start crying and she hates it when I cry ... so I can't tell her. If my friend Margie was still alive, I'd cry to her ... she was like a surrogate mom to me. I could cry to her and she would hug me (or if we were long distance, just comfort me). But she's gone and there's no one I can cry to like that. I miss Margie a lot.

Anyway, nothing much has happened. I decided to strip the bed today ... my mattress topper likes to inch off the bed and now it's almost off to the box spring. Some day I need to get a new bed. Mine is 14 years old. I may go through my closet and throw some clothes in a bag for Goodwill ... stuff I no longer wear (actually no longer fit into because I've gotten so big again ... not something I'm happy about) and other things I may try to sell.

Other than that, I'm going to watch baseball and read.

Vickie, I loved the nekkid gardeners day. I got a good laugh, something I really needed.

Judy, barbecue chicken sounds good, although I'm not a fan of potato salad. I don't know what I'll do for dinner yet.

Well, have a good day.

Hello Eileen...sorry Margie isn't around for you  at least not in a physical way. You can call and cry to anyone of us here on OFF. We all love and care about you more then you know.

Stripping the bed...good thing to get things in order again...it will be more comfortable that way!

Going through your closets is a good distraction...get rid of what you don't need!! Save somethings that are smaller. You are working with that coach aren't you?

I totally thought the post Vickie made was appropriate for us and the days we were having. We had a good laugh and we needed that!! Thanks Vickie!!!!

I wish I could run over to Judy's and pick up BBQ chicken!! Doesn't that sound great!!

Time to get my paper read and then off for my walk!!

Prayers...love ....hugs for you....connie d

Eileen, my bed is so old I can't sleep on it any more - the recliner is more comfortable!  The bed is older than Maura who is 27-- I got it used from a friend.     I'm thinking of finally giving in and buying a new one -- there's a nearby furniture store that has a "deal" going on that if the Red Sox win the world series, you get your money back.  Last year they won, after coming back from last place the year before.   Wouldn't that be great?

Good Afternoon OFF Ladies.

Went down to NY yesterday with Maura and Taylor - it was a long day - 3-1/2 hours down, lunch, then 3-1/2 hours back.  We went in Maura's new Jeep.  I had figured she would not let me drive because the Jeep is brand new and she would be nervous having me behind the wheel.  I was wrong!  We left and had gone about 30 miles when she said she didn't feel well so she pulled into a rest stop and she hopped out and heaved, and heaved and heaved some more.

So I ended up driving the rest of the way.  We met my brothers and sister-in-laws and one of my nieces with her 2 year old daughter at a BBQ place.  Enjoyed a great lunch (I stuck with smoked chicken wings and they were giant so I only had two of them, along with two bites of Maura's desert (a brownie sundae).  And since we were in NY - I had to stop at a pizzeria down the street and got a boxful of different types of pizza by the slice (plain, pepperoni, balsamic chicken) to bring back to Jim, by special request.  I was drooling in the pizza place, the had display cases full of pizzas, garlic knots, calzones, etc. etc. etc.  I love, no I adore, NY pizza and I wanted a slice of every type!  I would have like to get some bagels too, but those I would not be able to resist.

So, we left here at 8:00 and got back at 7:30.  I'm recovering today.  Taylor stayed over, and we went out for breakfast this morning.  I stuck with my usual restaurant breakfast - one scrambled egg with a slice of cheese melted in - hold the home fries and toast and sausage.

This afternoon Taylor and I are relaxing - I had gotten her a "Kindergarten" book, and colored construction paper, colored pencils, etc. and we played school for a while.  She is so excited about starting school this Fall.  Later, before her mom comes she get a bath.  She calls it "getting fertilized" because after the bath I fiercely rub her hair dry and dry her back by pulling a towel back and cross against her really fast....then she gets to powder herself, perfume herself, and lotion herself.  Then her hair gets sprayed with a volumizer and we do up a pony tail and put some clips in, then she gets a pedicure/manicure.

The deluxe treatment, for sure.

I hope everyone is enjoying this beautiful weather.  I changed into shorts earlier because I was warm in my jeans, and the sun feels so good.  I'm going to do some more yard work this week because Maura agreed to come over with her truck next weekend so we could bring leaves and lawn clippings down to the compost pile at the dump.

Hope Eileen is doing better - she's going through a rough time for sure.

Vickie, hope Butch is feeling better, and Judy, I hope Rick does ok too.

Got to go know - Taylor needs something.

Prayers and good wishes to all.

Hello Mary....I am so happy you enjoyed the day with your family. That is always good for you! The BBQ place sounds like a nice place to go. I love NY pizza!! When I am in NY I always made sure to have that pizza a couple times for sure!! I won't be going back and that makes me miss it more!! You will have to enjoy a slice for me sometime!!

When I get hungry for sausage I buy Morning Star sausage. I think it really tastes like sausage...YUM. They only have 80 calories a patty and 10 grams of protein, 3 carbs, and 3 grams of fat. I love their Bean Burgers too...I use those when I want a burger!

Sorry Maura got sick. I hope it wasn't from anything she ate.

WOW...don't you wish we could have all that pampering Taylor gets!! We just have to do it our self.

Go have fun with Taylor!!!

Love ya...hugs...connie d
