Hi Christine...I am glad you are back!!
It is so sweet that you're have a separate area for you MIL and FIL. They must enjoy that!!! I was glad the dentist fit me in too. She is so kind. Her husband is one of the top radiologist here. She just does her dentistry by herself. She doesn't have anyone besides the receptionist/ secretary. She doesn't overbook and she always gives you the attention you need. I am so happy to have found her.
Congratulations on your size 16W wooohooooo!! You have come a long way girl!!!!!
I giggled over you finally realizing you don't need to store your winter clothes....YAY....great feeling!!!!! Ever time you shop now it will get more fun!!! You will lose a lot of inches fast too. Don't buy too much of any size. I shopped a lot at thrift stores.Have fun cleaning out the old!!!
Have a good rest of the day...love and hugs yo you...connie d
Hello Sisters,
I have spent the last few days struggling with the damn oak pollen that has invaded our mountain...along with every other tree that is out there spewing poison. The students are making mad rushes to get their thesis and dissertations done so I have had to increase the hours of my graduate tutors, which they love, but my budget is taking a huge hit.
I am doing some more sewing. A friend of my daughter had a fabric center that she has closed up and she had tons of material, notions, yarn and other stuff that she has given my daughter and my daughter has given it all to me. Fortunately, my daughter is keeping the majority of it down at my house (she lives in it) in the valley but the other day she brought me up a lot for me to make some more little skorts and skirts and tops for my granddaughter and some pretty business like material for me. So, tonight and for the next few nights, I will be sewing. I know I've said this over and over but I hate sewing....I do a very good job of it, but I am not a natural seamstress. I also have a couple of baby showers coming up so I thought I would make a couple of baby quilts, so I've cut out the little holly hobby doll pieces to appliqué onto some cute squares for my great, great, great niece and the little farmer boy for a friend's baby. So, I will be busy. I am also trying to make some cloth diapers and covers for the babies too....cloth diapers today are so different than the ones I used on my kids...I make them with snaps and a waterproof cover....well, you know. I guess the next few days will be busy busy busy. My husband hates when I sew because he says I ignore him and everything is a mess....I remind him that we could go buy clothes for the kids and gifts...he shuts up. LOL....
Well, Eileen, I hope you are getting Richard placed. Connie, girl, your PJs sound like mine. LOL I actually could shop in mine and no one would even know they were sleep wear. I hope Vic and Butch are doing okay. Judy, I am sure you are at your wits end with all you are going through.
Well, I need to get the chicken in the oven and find a couple of sides to make. What we all need is cooks, housekeepers, and assistants to keep our lives easy. LOL.
Hi Jeannie...I am sure the colleges are crazy about now. Everyone has so many things due. Hide under the desk if it gets too bad!!
It sounds like you will be sewing all the time to get everything done. The price was right for sure!! Those Holly Hobby things will be great!! Holly Hobby is so sweet!! Have fun even if you really don't like doing it....LOL! Love your come back to your hubby!!!
Loads of love and bunches of hugs....connie d
Hello sweet sistas!
Bringing up the rear tonight. I thought I would have time to post today, but no such luck. Another really super busy day. Had to take Mom to the urgent care place this morning because she had some weird bug bite on her thigh. Good Lord. It swelled up and was ugly. In addition I hit the drug store, the bank, Lowe's, and the grocery store today. AND I had a landscape guy come out to give me a bid on removing all these damn red tips (bushes) that are growing like crazy since we had all that rain this spring. I hate them and want them GONE. No tellin' what that's going to cost me.
So I didn't get a single box unpacked today, but that's okay. Tomorrow is another day, right Miss Scarlett? Oh, and my dishwasher won't turn on and the appliance fix-it place can't come until Monday, so I'm washing dishes by hand this week too. Such fun!
Love you all so much. One of these days I'll have time to post individual notes again. Hurray for everyone who is having such great success! Proud of you!
Oh Vickie...you just can't cut a break!! Now the dishwasher won't work....good grief!! Well your mom likes to help....put her on dish patrol!!
I am so sorry about your mom's bite on her thigh. Did they figure out what kind of bite it was? I hope too that the swelling is down by now.
You didn't say anything about Butch so he must be doing okay.
I am sure only you are bothered by the bushes....I know you will be glad when they are gone. I thought you had some people coming get some of them. Can't you donate them to a landscape place? Then it shouldn't cost you anything or very little? You know they will re-sell them!! Give them a good deal.
You got a lot of errands run today. That is good. Your boxes will still be there tomorrow!
Love you...hugs....connie d
Hi Mary and my OFF sisters:
I love coming here and getting caught up with my sisters, even if it is late at night. I had a busy day. First I set my alarm for 8 a.m. and got myself to the Y. No arthritis aquatics class today, but I figured I'd just walk around in the pool, do some of the stretches, etc. Well, I saw another class going on and there were a lot of old ladies in it so I thought I might join. I asked one of the women what the class was and if there was a lot of jumping around. She said it was called Aqua Moves and it was a step up from the arthritis class. OK, I'll try it. One of the fill-in instructors from the arthritis class was in it. She helped me out with some of the moves when I wasn't sure what to do. It was fun, but a little more challenging. It's meant to work on your balance and your core muscles. Well, I have no balance so this might be good to do this once a week. it was fun. Then I stopped to get an iced coffee at Starbucks before I went to give blood. (I gave caffeine with my blood ... I have a rare blood type.. AB+ ... so I like to give once in awhile). My iron levels were good, too. Came home because I promised Richard I'd take him over to the Social Security office ... turns out he's been going to the wrong place all this time. So tomorrow we're going to the right office. Plus we need to get him a lawyer. He was rather pissed. But I found out that he's not pissed at me, just at the world in general. Plus, he's been out of his meds and we haven't had money ... so he's been extra moody.
And yes, I will be moving in with my brother Gary. And Richard will be going elsewhere. He knows that. He's already planning for that. In fact, Gary applied for Social Security today (he'll be 63 in September) .... he'll get it early and then get a low-paying job to supplement ... he hates his job up in Chicago and can't live in the Chicago area on what he makes. We still have to find a place to live yet, but we can afford to live in a much better place than where I live now. Aug. 1 appears to be moving day.
I've gone on so long here ... I read everything everyone said but I don't remember anything. Oh, talked to mom today too ... PT has been working her and she can actually get up and answer the door now. Couldn't (or wouldn't) do that before. It's progress!
Anyway, have a good day. Tomorrow's payday! Yey!
Hi Eileen....I just popped in to see if there were any other posts I hadn't read. Yup...you and Trish and Vickie!!
That class at the Y sounds like fun. I am sure you will enjoy it.
It is so nice that you give blood, especially when you have a rare type. Plus they give you money for that don't they??
I am glad things are moving along and Gary will be moving there. Hopefully Richard will be gone soon and you can start packing some things. Why are you moving if you already have a two bedroom apartment? Do you just want more space? With him paying 1/2 the rent you two should be able to find something nicer. Good Luck!! Aug. 1st will be here before you know it!!
I am happy PT is working for your mom. That is great news!!!
Got to go to bed...I am shot!!
Love and more hugs to you...connie d
