Freaky Friday

Good Evening Kathy,

I'm finally home with my feet up.  Well, I've been home for about an hour.  Exhaustion is an understatement for me right now.

I had an appointment first thing this morning, which went fine.  Then, Colleen called while I was on my way home, to ask if I would go with her this afternoon.  We took Frankie to the children's hospital at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, an hour away.  The have a pediatric otolaryngology clinic, or ENT for short.  He was referred there by his pediatrician here.  UofM's hospital area is huge.  The children's hospital was awesome.  As soon as we walked in, Frankie spotted a life size statue of Superman.  Then, way up high, was Spiderman, preparing shoot his web.  Colleen had film of his swallow test, and spent over an hour working with the specialist, who wants to consult with the team there.  On the way home, traffic was a nightmare.  Rush hour, plus an accident, made the drive very long.  We picked up Chinese on the way home, and Frankie was fast asleep by that time.  We had stopped at a playground on the way home, and he wore himself out climbing the thing to get to the slides.  I love that Colleen has a DVD player in her van, so the kids can be distracted on the long rides.

I haven't had a chance to read everyone''s posts yet, so forgive my lack of personal messages right now.

Hi Trish....I was wondering where you have been. I am sure Frankie love Superman and Spiderman...how cool!!

I am so glad they are following up on Frankie's testing. It is good to have another opinion. I hope they can give you some good feedback!!

Chinese...that sounds so good. I haven't had any in a long time. ENJOY!!!!!

I bet Frankie slept good after that long day and wearing himself out at the playground!!!

I sent the post for Eileen before responding real quick to yours as intended!

I found it hilarious what you said about your Jim & the bed and TV. My Jim would watch CNN and/or Nascar all day if he had his way, but I make sure he has some 'honey do' projects to break up his TV habit!

Being in bed would seriously **** me off. We take a 30 minute nap together some days, but then try to keep it moving!

He is very good about doing most things I ask him, but he does have his days. Since I quit work he seems to think I will take over running the house, but cooking & cleaning were his jobs since he was on SSDI & I worked FT.

I love landscaping & we had an acre of land out in the country up until 3 years ago when Jim2 got his leg amputated & could no longer keep up the yard. We bought the land first & it was just grass. We planned everything out over the years and planted every bush, tree and flower. It was a learning experience though b/c I had always lived in the suburbs with small lots and didn't realize you needed to take into account how BIG a bush or tree would get!

Maybe the previous residents didn't figure on those pine trees getting so close to the house! that'll be a job taking them down!

Also, Judy...wanted to say I was sorry to hear about Rick! It just sounds like you are in one of those cycles where you can't break loose from one thing happening after another. Hope things look up for you soon!

Hello sweet sistas! Just a quick note tonight.  We will be staying here in Houston through Sunday. They want to give Butch a daily iv infusion for the first three days after chemo to help with the terrible nausea. If it works it well be worth it!  So far so good.  Also yes the tests show that the chemo is working.  The metabolic activity of ask the tumors is way down. I will post more when I get back home on the computer. Reading all post every day. Just itching to reply!  Love you all! 

Hi sweet Vickie....I hope it was okay to post how things have been going the last couple days. There are people on OFF  that don't use Facebook. I wanted to be sure everyone was aware how things are going for Butch and you too. I love you!!
