THURSDAY...THURSDAY...where are all you sleepyheads???

Well good morning everyone! I guess everyone is busy, but I am being held captive by the DISH TV installer so I can be rid of Verizon and their ever rising prices...ugh! I cleaned the bathroom...no cleaning fairy comes to my house! But I am glad I can do it again...last Fall I just didn't have the energy!

It is cold (43) and windy out, but I am still taking my walks today. Not up to Connie's speed, but will continue to work on 3 5-10 minute walks after every meal.

Yes, Connie...I do perceive you the way I described in yesterday's post. But for all I know you could be a 100 year old man behind your screen name!

Men....I'll kinda pass on that topic today...lol. But I did want to put my 2 cents in about Richard. If he is indeed 'stealing' meds in addition to taking his own AND his memory is so bad he is also for risk for overdosing in addition to some of the other things Connie noted. My heart goes out to you Eileen as you have done so much for this man just since I came on the board. He reminds me of what they say on some of my favorite court TV shows....'NO GOOD DEED GOES UNPUNISHED!'

I would hate for you to have to find him dead IN YOUR HOME or if he stole your care of something else along those lines. He may be very ill, but even with dementia they have periods of lucidity and realize what they are doing or what they have done.

BE CAREFUL!!

I hope Vickie gets on and lets us know how Butch made out. Another worrisome situation.

Well, gonna sign off and get some more done around here. Gotta tell Jim what he is GOING to do...haha.

Good Morning OFF Family,

Wow, so much going on here with all my sisters on OFF.  Believe me when I say I read, and pray, even if I do not personally address each of you.

First, Vickie I pray for you and Butch.  I'm still praying for hopeful news, but more important, for strength and peace.  Philippians 4 teaches me that if we fix our minds on Jesus, the peace of God, which transforms all understanding, guards our hearts and minds.  As hard as it is, try to keep your focus on Him, and His promises of peace, and eternal life.

Connie, you are the heart and soul of our family.  Your love and kindness are two of the many reasons I love you to pieces.  You show so much strength and courage, regardless of your pain.

Eileen, it does sound like Richard may have become dependent on the pain meds, to the point of over medicating and abusing them.  I'd get a lock box for your meds, and keep it hidden.  My son, Sean, developed a bad addiction, and has been in rehab multiple times.  I've had my own issues with pain meds and alcohol, and have to be extremely cautious.  I had relapsed on alcohol to self medicate before going to the pain specialist.   Once he gets his Medicaid, he should get into a pain clinic and psychotherapy with someone who can teach him different ways to manage pain.  I was taught meditation and visualization exercises that really do help.  I have a Mindfulness Meditation App on my iPhone that does help tremendously. It is really helpful.

We have several sweet sisters here who are having men issues.  I'd give anything to have a second chance with my ex, but I will say I have a sense of independence that makes me happy to just live with my dog.  I tried dating after my divorce, and learned the hard way that I had a really great guy, and blew it.  I accept that it's over, and I have moved on.  I'm glad I don't answer to any human, and I can do, or not do, what I choose.

I can't remember what's going on with everyone else.  Here, in frigid Michigan, it s-n-o-w-e-d yesterday.  Then, this morning, there was still white stuff on the ground.  I really want Spring back.

My doctor's office couldn't get me in yesterday, so they sent me to the urgent care down the hall from them.  I got an antibiotic, and spent the day resting so I'd have the strength to get to church and see all the kids, especially Izzy and Lincoln.  Because I was always nauseous, and running to the bathroom all day with the other problem too, I lived on cottage cheese and crackers all day yesterday.

Well, I better get moving and take my shower. I have a ton of housework to do, and no motivation to do anything, but will take care of some of it.

Love, Prayers and Hugs,

Trish

Hello Trish....thanks for the sweet compliment...you are just as sweet and kind....everyone here is!! I love you too!!!

There is someone wonderful waiting to meet you. God is good!! The first thing you need to do is get Jim out of there. No one is going to look twice at you with him hanging around. Time for him to go and for you to start a wonderful new life!! You know God can't provide anyone if you already have one...think about it.

As for me....I have many male friends...they keep me entertained. They are friends and nothing more!! My rule!!

I am glad you got an antibiotic and spent most of the day resting. I hope you are feeling much better soon. Prayers!!

I need to get in my shower too...it is noon and I am getting hungry....time to walk!!

Love and many hugs too.....connie d

Hi Connie,

I decided to color my hair, and now I have a real problem.  Somehow I hair dye on the ceramic tile around my bathroom sink.  So far I've tried Scrubbing Bubbles and bleach, and nothing has worked.  Do you, or any of the sisters here, know how to get hair dye out of ceramic tile?  I have to get the spots out.

Just got back from Dollar General, and my dinner is ready.  Must scoot.

Love,

Trish

Hey Kathy and Francine -- two threads for today, both started around the same time!!

Francine -- Isn't clothes shopping great!!  I used to hate it because I had to order clothes through catalogs.  Everything was so ugly and expensive.  Now it's thrift store shopping for me!

Kathy - you make a very good point about Richard.  It can be a very dangerous situation.

I'm busy making some calls today - I want to start getting some estimates for work that needs to be done around here.  Hope to hear from Vickie today - I know it's a very difficult day for her an Butch.

Prays and good wishes to all!

Mary

Hi Mary.....I am making calls today too. I decided to keep my storage until June...that way Pam should be out of there by the end of May. The less I hear or see her the better!

Well getting estimates is a good start with your re-model. I hope you manage to get a good rate.

I did just post in my reply to Kathy that I did just hear from Vickie. Butch is still having more testing done. They won't have answers until this afternoon.

Lots of love and hugs....connie d

Hi Judy....you can packed a large 4-5 bedroom house in those semi's!! Maybe someone else is sharing the trip. Sometimes movers will pack more then one delivery in one truck. You get much better rates that way.

At least you don't have to help them move in....that would be awful!!!

You sound like you feel better this afternoon. I am so happy about that. Seriously I was scared you were going to die!!! I hope Rick is feeling better too.

Thanks for the date of your surgery...I wrote it down so I don't keep forgetting....DAMN CRS!!!

Have a brighter day!!!

Loads of love and bunches of hugs....connie d

I heard the call on my answering machine and was LIVID!!!!!!!!!! I went out and tenant that is moving came out all smiling and proud oh what she didn't do....I yelled at her AND the truck driver!!! I said to them I hope you are PROUD OF YOURSELVES!!!!!! NOT MOVING THAT TRUCK FOR 5 MINUTES SO SHE COULD MOVE HER CAR!!!!!!!!!! Tenant says...I asked her the other day and she said no. I then said back to her AND NOBODY KNEW YOU WERE BRINGING IN A HUGE SEMI EITHER THAT WOULD TAKE THE WHOLE PARKING LOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SHAME ON YOU BOTH FOR NOT MOVING THAT TRUCK FOR HER!!!!!!!!!!!
