Tuesday Morning, Right?
Hi Judy.....I am glad you have all the apartments rented now...what a relief!! I hope all the paperwork goes through and they aren't going to be CRAZY like many of your other ones!! LOL!
You are right Chase needs to go. He has been just a jerk! I am sure you can find someone else that can work out. What is it with these maintenance people??
I hope you are feeling better you didn't say anything about it. So now Rick is sick. Oh well...you had to work sick I guess he will have to too. Yes...MEN...big babies!!
Love, prayers and hugs...connie d
Hello sweet sistas,
I'm afraid that I am quite undeserving of your kind words. You've heard of "Alexander and the no good horrible very bad day"? Well, that's been my last 24 hours and it finally got to me. I just pretty much dropped the ball entirely this afternoon and retreated to bed and covered my head. Ugh.
I won't bore you with a long description of everything that went wrong or screwy in the last 24 hours. I'll just hit a couple of highlights. I believe that will suffice.
So last night I was the last one to go to bed and my back hurt, so I thought I would just take a quick soak in the walk-in tub before I got into bed. Holy Crap! The bath was about half full when the door suddenly sprang open and gallons of water flooded the bathroom!!! OMG. Took me half the night to sop it all up. I used every bath towel in the house (which I had to wash and dry today). It was a mess. And it soaked the carpeting in the closet and the bedroom. You get the idea.
Called ReBath first thing this morning and they charged me $50 to come out and check it (because apparently, even though ReBath offers a lifetime warranty on their bathubs, they do not allow the warranty to transfer from the original owner!), and turns out there's nothing wrong with the door. There's a little button that you have to press to secure the door. Well, hell. We've already had several baths in that damn tub with no problems, so I guess I was unconsciously pressing the button all those other times. WTH?
Anyway, lots more crap went on today. I just don't think I want to talk about it, after all. It's too depressing.
Well, Butch and I were supposed to drive down to Houston this afternoon, but I just couldn't do it. I was so exhausted I was afraid I would fall asleep driving. So I went to bed and slept for a couple of hours. Instead we are leaving at 4 a.m. tomorrow morning. Butch's first appointment at MDA is at 7:15 a.m. It's not an ideal situation, but I just plumb gave out today. Reached the end of my rope. Just couldn't push myself one step further.
So, I'll try to post a note or two while we're in Houston, but not sure if I'll get much chance. Big day of scans tomorrow. Then doctor's visits and chemo on Thursday. Hopefully home Friday evening. We feel uneasy leaving Mom here by herself this first week, but I took her to the store this afternoon and she has groceries for the week. She says she'll be fine. I sure hope so.
I love you all. Say a little prayer for us this week while we're at MDA. Hoping for good news.
Vickie - OMG, I can picture the bath water all over the place!! The icing on the cake....
I'm glad you're getting a bit of rest before you hit the road. When I was younger, in my Hay Day, I would often leave to drive from MA to NY at 3:00 a.m. Back in those days, I'd have a CB in my car -- actually used it once to call for some directions when I got turned around due to construction. Now --- I'm planning on driving down to NY next month for a family get-together, and I'm getting a lot of flack because I'll be driving down by myself....Maura is unable to go, so I'll go on my own.
I'll be saying some extra prayers for you and Butch - I know this is a very important trip for both of you. God bless!
Mary
Hello sweet Vickie...oh honey you must have been exhausted to crash like that. I am glad GOD finally put a hold on you doing more work today. You needed that rest to be able to focus for tomorrow at MDA.
As always I am praying that everything goes well. Sorry you have to get up so early. Praying the test results come back better then you think they will be. Prayers and more prayers for you and Butch. I am even saying prayers for your mom while she is alone these next few days. Christie could maybe call and check on her too. Safe travels my dear!! I have you right here in my heart.
I would have been furious about the water leak!!! You didn't need that on top of being so tired!!! I am so sorry.
I am going to bed soon...I have to take the bus to get groceries. I wish they would go later. The bus really is a better way to go. They always make sure we all get into the store safely. They always bag everything for us. We all have little grocery carts to take our food home. They take the carts and put them in the bus. Then when we are home they make sure we are in safe. Then they bring the carts and food inside for us. All we have to do is put it away.
Loads of love....bunches of hugs....connie d
