Good Morning....it is Thursday.....so what's new today??
Good morning everyone.....
I have no news yet about my sister's surgery. I imagine she is still in surgery. I haven't hear from my niece yet.
I had a really restless night's sleep....too much on my mind these days.
Nothing exciting planned for today. I will just go with the flow!!
My laundry is done and my house is cleaned. I will work on puzzles later. How exciting huh?
I will check back later to see who post's replies.
Wishing you all a good day!!
Prayers for all of our wonderful OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for Butch and Vickie also for Judy and her sister.
I love you all...bushels of hugs....connie d
Hi Connie and my OFF family:
I got up to pounding at 8 a.m. Richard was putting on his headboard after finishing rearranging his room. Once I got out of bed, my headache started. It's going to be a long day at work if it persists. Already took a vicodin and have an icepack on my neck. Couldn't go to the Y because I have an open wound on my arm ... scraped it while shopping yesterday trying to get the plug out of the wall so I could get a motorized cart. Grocery store folks gave me a bandage and antiseptic, but it's still ugly. It will take a few days before it heals.
So this is my first day back after vacation. In many ways, I'm looking forward to going back. Richard has been driving me crazy. I think we need some time apart. I made a German chocolate cake last night to bring into work ... my late birthday cake. Cupcakes were nice, but still not my fav cake.
I had a lot of bills to pay and still have a couple more, not enough money to pay them all. I promised Richard I'd buy his Surface computer for $60, then loan him $40 so he can get an eye exam and get his contacts. Walmart.com is holding up his order because he hasn't had an eye exam for four years ... and he can barely see right now. Not safe at all! I will have to squeeze money out somehow. I have paid enough of my check to keep the electric on, cable on, rent paid ... but it's still tight. It's hard working for two on one person's paycheck. Richard is really close to getting disability and Medicaid ... they're waiting on two medical reports (that were supposedly already sent). Once that's settled, he will get back payment. But it's maddening for both of us.
Well, enough of my whining. Richard did make a nice dinner of steak and corn on the cob (and I had a salad, too). I can't believe I ate most of the steak ... but then I hadn't eaten much all day, other than a protein bar.
Well, not much else happening here. Hope your sister pulls through surgery OK. Have a good day.
Hi Eileen....that is so rude of Richard to be pounding when you are sleeping. Especially when he knows you are working today. Sorry about your headache...I hope you can get rid of it before you have to go to work.
I imagine with Richard having physical and emotional issues it can get kind of stressful at times. I hope that money comes soon for both your sake. Finances seem really tight right now. I thought he had money from when he sold his bike a few days ago. Good Luck!!!
Thanks for the kind thoughts about my sister. I am getting worried as I haven't heard anything yet!!
Much love and hugs....connie d
Yeah, Connie, he had money, but spent it really fast on his prescriptions and Diet Pepsis and other stuff. It goes really fast. I picked up my vicodin script from Walgreens today and couldn't believe it was $35. Wow, it used to be just $5 or $10. Can't wait til I can reach my deductible and everything will be free.
Good Afternoon Connie and OFF,
I just got home from running around. I had to take my AppleTV gizmo back to the Apple store, and they gave me a new one. Then, I went to Kroger, to get ricotta cheese. Back home, I have no problem finding it. Here, it's almost impossible to find. The IGA here doesn't carry it. The Meijer I was at on Tuesday didn't have it. I can't be the only person who makes Italian food in this area. Then, I have to go get my haircut. It looks like a rat's nest.
Must scoot.
Love,
Trish

Hi Trish....I am glad you took your Apple gizmo back and got it replaced.
That is strange that you can't find ricotta cheese. They have it in two places here. One place is by all the other cheeses and the other is in the deli department. Hope you find some!! Are you making lasagna or manicotti or what?
Hope you got your haircut so you feel better now.
Love and many hugs....connie d
Hello ladies,
it's a lovely day here in my neck of the woods so I am trying to enjoy it. I took my morning walk at the harbor again, which is such a treat. I had the energy to go a bot further today, and so I did. Wonderful feeling! I have a few projects to choose from this afternoon, if I have the energy, but first things first: a quick spin around the block (walk #2). Every thing is continuing to slowly improve for me, health wise: water intake is still good, protein is ok, and I'm taking all my meds and supplements. The infection has really started to abate - I can really feel the difference. My emotions are all over the place, which could be either hormone dumping or just the hangover from surgery - I just don't know! But I am bored out of my mind and am glad I'm feeling stronger every day. I don't think I can handle all this sedentary and solitary time for much longer. I'm a People person and can't wait to get back out there!!
My heart goes out to our Vickie, who is in such anguish.
Connie, my day sounds a little like hours except, my laundry needs doing and I can't be doing it (no lifting from the waist just yet). Oh well, somehow we will cope. Prayers to your sister - I hope you get an update soon!
Eileen, that's a heck of a wake up call! Boy I hope Richard gets his answers soon - you're a strong woman to carry everything. Hang in there. I hope you're soon in less pain.
Mary, you are another super strong woman. You have sure had a lot of challenge to deal with. Good for you for standing strong and putting yourself first. Whoo hoo!
I will return later to visit with anyone else who posts. Prayers to all!
Christine
