Blooming Saturday!
Vickie, you're lucky your mom will let you cry. My mom never let me cry to her when I needed to. After I met up with my friend Margie (who was my editor's wife in Montana and then they moved to South Dakota when they bought a small weekly paper there; then I moved to SoDak to another paper just north of them), she became like a second mom to me. She let me cry whenever I needed a good cry. She was only maybe 10 years older, but she was definitely more sympathetic than my mom. I think it's because that's how she was raised. Grandma Delort was pretty much all business ... my dad used to call her The General.
You certainly needed to have a good cry and a shoulder to do it on. Glad you had your mom.
Awwww Vickie....talking about being able to have your meltdown with your mom and her making you feel better made me miss my mom so bad! She's been gone since 09 and I miss being able to talk to her. She was like a best friend!
It is hard to relate when people say when your parents are gone they're gone so enjoy them now. You can never understand the hole that is left once they pass.
It is so loving what you are doing by having your mom move in with you. We took my dad in as his Alzheimer's got worse and although it was like 3 full time jobs to manage him those were some of the best memories of my life. I even enjoyed hearing him talk during his confused times and he thought he was in his 20's, 30's or 40's. He would talk about going to pick out my mom's engagement ring as if he was doing it then and other special occasions.
Enjoy your mom. You never get another...

Hi Kathy.....you are right...enjoy every moment with your parents.....they can be gone in an instant.
I am sorry about your mom......mine passed away 14 years ago today. It has been a very hard day. Every year since she pasted is so difficult....I miss her every day!
You were very blessed to have your dad with you. You have many treasured memories listening to his stories at 20...30...40. How wonderful!!! All the work made those times well worth it!!
Love and hugs to you....connie d
