Monday Monday
Kathy, I had to stop working two years ago because of health problems. I was lucky in one way, because I was able to go on long-term disability through work.....The disability company required that I apply for Social Security Disability, which I got on my first try. The disability company covers 65% of my pay, non-taxable == so, until I'm 65, I get my Social Security, and a check from the disability company to bring me up to the 65% (they pay me $850/month; unfortunately that income stops when I reach 65.) I was lucky enough to know that if I paid for the disability policy at work (usually the company pays it 100%) - the income would be non-taxable. If my employer paid (about $2/week) it would have been taxable. So I've got one more year with the extra check, and I've got to use it to pay for some repairs.... Maybe once that check stops, I'll be well enough to get a part-time job. I felt really good today - spent a few hours doing yard work.
Hi Kathy...sorry you have run into a wall with your husband.
They just don't get it. He should be grateful that you have taken care of him all these years. I agree...I always say "is this a want or a need". Most people don't want to hear that because so many times the know the correct answer!!! They WANT it anyway!!
You discussed all this with your husband before you retired. He needs to think about that. They always want it their way.
That my dear is why I will never get married again. I may not have a lot, but what I have is mine!! Marriage is just not for me!
I am sure most times things go smoothly at your home. Let it pass. He will work through it.
I hope you have a great rest of the evening!!
You will do great with your WLS....when people want it that bad they usually do great. I have faith in you!!!
Love and oodles of hugs....connie d
Evening OFF family...I just read everyones posts...YES this IS the place to come and vent when needed!!! I come here and vent a lot heaven knows how many times...anyhow I am so tired tonight because today has been a day from hell!!!!!! Calls up the ying yang for apartments and showing them as well...I got another apartment rented and hopefully another one tomorrow...the guys are worn out also working their butts off trying to get them done enough to let people move in!!! The hotel is throwing these people out due to the hotel being unsafe to live in now...they have until the 24th to find a place to live.
Also I just found out another one of my tenants died today. She was a sweetheart. Didn't live here long but long enough to love her.
I swear this IS the year of dying.......scares me it really does!!!
OK need to get some supper...then rest!!! I AM BEAT!!!!!!!
Thoughts and Prayers for ALL that need them!!!
HUGSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Hi Judy....I am worried about you. All that stress around there every day. I would be insane...never mind I am insane!
I am glad you got one apartment filled and I hope the one tomorrow works out as well. How many do you have empty now?
I am sorry about the lady that passed away. I remember she didn't live there long. She sure sounded like a real sweetheart. I am sending prayers for her family.
I hope you managed a quieter evening and a nice meal too!
Love you...hugs...connie d
Mary,
I agree; it's your money. Eileen, it sounds like you are becoming the taxi service for Richard and the other person. I totally understand that you want to help; however, it sounds like he is a little spoiled; if he doesn't get his way, he calls you names or says you are negative. Old men are like that. They get all fussy if things don't go their way.
Vic, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that your mom and you can get back to your new house without any major confrontations. Moving is so stressful.
Judy, I cannot imagine how hard it is trying to fill those apartments but even harder is losing so many of the tenants.
Well, I've spent my day writing and in between writing, I've had meetings with deans and faculty.
I remember when I had my surgery, and after what seemed like an eternity, I was finally able to eat soft foods. Everyone on our board gave me suggestions: some said eat some taco bell refried beans some said potatoes...well, the big day came and I ate a little refried beans and that was the first time I dumped. Eating soft food wasn't as easy as I thought it would be. Those good ole days when we got full eating a tablespoon of something...
Well, I gotta go clean the kitchen before I go to bed. Hope you all have a good evening.
Hello Jeannie....This morning as I was thinking about you and the police officer that stopped you, I started giggling all over again. You are a hoot!!!
Another busy day for you. Writing and meeting with deans and faculty. That can get kind of intense at times. I sure couldn't handle all that anymore. You are amazing!! I hope you managed to get the things written that needed to be done this week.
I remember eating those few little bites and feeling full...that still amazes me! I am trying hard to get back on track. So far so good!
Have a great night...love you...hugs....connie d
