Tuesday Morning, Right?
Christine,
I can't remember how my bowels behaved immediately after surgery. I can tell you that if your doctor says not to worry about it, then don't. I do know that I dealt with some constipation in the first few months and was permitted to take a stool softener.
Hugs,

Christine....don't be worried I had those issues too. As long as they are watching it and keeping you hydrated there isn't anything to worry about. The pain meds can cause that as well. It takes a while for that to get out of your system. You will be fine...I worried for nothing!
I am always here for you...rest and relax between walks...just don't walk too far down the hallway until you feel you can.
More love and hugs ...and prayers too .....connie d
Christine back when I had my RNY we had to be on liquids LONGER than what you did...so no I did not have that problem. But I will tell you at times now I do if I eat certain foods and I take a sleeping pill at night...remember that saying...do NOT take a sleeping pill when you have the diarrhea....thinking it is gas...wake up and its all over you and the bed...NOT GOOD!!!!
I am sure it WILL get better for you!!!
HUGSSSSS
Oh I am on liquids - just liquids. Not sure what is coming out. We thought it was the lovely liquid from the upper GI but it has continued all afternoon! Well I'm in good care so they will keep an eye on it. But yes totally embarrassing this afternoon! !

Christine, I had loose stools right after surgery too. It's because you're on just liquids. I was told to take Benefiber ... it's clear and you can mix it in with anything, water, soup, protein drinks, etc. It's meant to bulk up your stools. You can even put it in your coffee or tea.
It does work and also helps keep you regular. I was also told that after gastric bypass (not sure if that's what you had or if you had the sleeve) you should never take Imodium again.
Hi Trish and my OFF family:
Busy day! I set my alarm to get up at 8 a.m. so I would get my lazy butt out of the house and over to the Y for the arthritis aquatics class. Although I'm now extremely tired, I'm glad I did. I always feel better after being in the water. It's just that I had other things to do afterward, so I didn't get a chance to come home and rest.
So after, I had an hour or so to kill before my psychologist appointment, so I stopped off at Starbucks and played with my tablet while I had an iced coffee break. While I was there, Richard texted me he got something in the mail from Social Security: a release form for doctors' records. He had to get it back within four days or he would have to start all over. The office closed at 4 p.m. My appointment was at 2; I'd be home around 3:30 usually, or earlier. Well, the main road I usually drive down was backed up due to construction, so I had to zigzag home to avoid the back-up. Still got home by 3:30, beeped for Richard, he came out and off we went. We got there around 3:45 p.m. and he was able to get his form out. He's one step closer to getting his disability and Medicaid. After that, we stopped to get him another cord for his iPad; he is selling it because he's had so many problems with it. But he has to have the cord. This will be the eighth cord he's had. I've bought three of them. It's a pain. They keep breaking.
We got home, I warmed up some baked ziti and made a salad, had dinner, watched the news and snoozed in the middle of World News Tonight. Guess I was tired!
My brother posted a photo of my dad on Facebook. He would have been 93 today (he died in 1984, the year I moved to Montana). He was 62. My brother Gary pointed out it's also National Beer Day, which my dad would've liked because he enjoyed his beer ... always remembered him with his quart bottles of beer every night. So I'm having a beer in his memory. Dad had high blood pressure, probably from smoking, and that led to his kidney failure, which killed him faster than the colon cancer did.
Vickie, I hope Chris and Mike can work things out. Mike sounds too laid back; he needs to get his act together and take charge. My parents shared the workload in everything -- housework, budgeting, contributing to the budget. I guess I thought that was how it was in every family. Neither of my parents finished high school. But all four of us kids went to college, my sister has a master's and my oldest brother Ed has an engineering degree. Gary and I have bachelor's degrees. We all went to Catholic schools, which you know aren't cheap. So it can be done. And all of us helped out at home (which I know the kids are too young yet) and at school to help with the tuition (in grade school, we cleaned classrooms and the chalkboards, emptied garbage cans ... guess they wouldn't let kids do that anymore). But you get the idea.
Judy, I hope you will be OK, as well as your sister.
Connie, take it easy, sister! You sound like me, falling so often.
Can't remember what else. Just relaxing on vacation, watching sports. Have a good night, ladies.
Hello Everyone,
I'm doing a dart in the door and back out. Vic, I sure do hope your daughter is able to work out her problems and it looks like she may be trying to tackle too much, which is leading to stress. Eileen, I have known others to have problems with their iPad cords, but I've never had a bit of problem with mine. Connie, you might need to figure out why you are falling...there might be some nerve damage that is preventing you from lifting your feet just high enough, and Judy, girl, you need to hang it up and either stop the food socials or learn to say KMA and move on. I cannot remember who else posted so the rest of you gals, have a good night.
Judy: you need to delegate....next social food thing , and if need to decorate....put out a flyer stating you need volunteers to take care of decorating, àd organizing the food, and doing the clean-up as you no longer can. Set up teams of volunteers. That is how everything is done in our Condo. If not enough sign up, event is cancelled.
Get the picture? You just co-ordinate teams of people, let them do the work, and if not enough volunteers, you cancel the event and follow up with bulletin saying not enough volunteers so event had to be cancelled. They can ***** all they want but you remind they are family and everyone needs to pull together or no party.
