Busy busy Tuesday!

Good morning!

I'm up and have given Butch his pills and let the dogs out.  So I've allotted myself 30 minutes on the computer this morning and y'all are first!  LOL!

Yesterday was a super busy shopping day for me.  I had to go and buy the new vanity for Mom's bathroom, plus all the cabinetry for the new storage in my utility room/butler's pantry.  And I also bought all new towel bars, bathroom heaters, etc.  Spent about $2500 real quick!  LOL!

Anyway, I needed to have the new vanity at the house today so that the granite template guys and measure it.  I got this deal on Angie's List where if I get all new granite in the kitchen I get a free piece of granite remnant for the bathroom.  Sounds good to me since the vanity I picked didn't come with a top.  So I had to hook up the little trailer (I'm getting pretty good at doing that all by myself) and have the guys at Lowe's load the bathroom vanity onto it for me.  I just left the trailer parked in the new garage.

The new cabinets had to be ordered and I'm letting Lowe's deliver them.  There's a limit to my madness, you know?  LOL!

I have to be at the new house by noon to meet with the granite guys.  Not sure if Butch is going with me today or not.

Met with Handyman Sam on Sunday and we went over the whole list of things I need done.  The good news is that he can do them all.  The bad news is that he hasn't got back to me yet with an estimate on what his time and labor will cost.  Grrrr.

Tomorrow I have to pack us up to head back to MDA.  Butch has appointments all day Thursday.

So rumor has it that this Sunday is Easter. OMG.  I haven't even given it a single thought.  Carrie is coming down on Friday and hopefully Butch and I are driving back from Houston on Friday.  But then I need to spend the weekend PACKING.  I'm seriously thinking that we all might just have a picnic at the new house and pick up fried chicken or something easy like that.  Chris is working 70 hours this week and my house is in chaos.  I really can't think what else to do.

Speaking of Carrie, Leo texted her and said he needs "closure" and wants to by Wednesday evening for his things.  Ass.  At least she's good and mad about by now.  Told me she was going to stuff all his clothes in one of those scented garbage bags so he'd have to wash everything to get the smell out.  LOL!

Okay, I've got to close.  Lots and lots going on and when I start feeling too overwhelmed I just repeat to myself:  "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me!"  I say this a LOT!

Love you all!

Tell Carrie to dump his stuff out the door, hope she's changed the lock...that way she won't see him and he can stuff "his closure" up where the sun doesn't shine. She should take the scissors to his sleeves of shirts and tees, and cut off the legs on slacks and jeans...., or just answer it's all gone to the garbage, Goodwill , or whatever., but I suppose too late as she has agreed to him coming by. She does not need to see him again, it will only upset her .....and she needs revenge for what he did to her. So to heck with his "need for closure" which is  really only a need for his things....my advice to her is to do some "alterations with the scissors".

This is not my fresh idea, heard a girlfriend did "alterations" to her ex's suits, silk ties and pant legs...and left in garbage bags at her door for him.....(but Leo could take it out afterwards on her car paint and slash her tires, so maybe just do it to his fave outfit or pair of jeans, a little scissoring is good for the hurting soul)

Good morning Vickie and everyone.....

Vickie...I was so glad to see your post this morning. I just knew you would have a long hard day yesterday. However the rest of your week won't be any easier. Lots of love and prayers!!

You are so amazing. You are handling so many things that aren't easy to do. Hooking up trailers and hauling a vanity. I admit....I am too girly to even think of doing those things. My arms have never been strong. I know you have to get things done. I am glad you are letting Lowe's deliver the cabinets!!!  I would have called every man I know to do it for me...LOL!!

Your Easter plan sounds great....pick up and take out!! The boys are young enough not to care as long as they get a few bunny things. The adults will understand. Chris will be dragging her butt after all those hours!!!

I am glad Carrie will be around!! I agree...revenge feels good. However...I have a friend that did the cutting up of her ex's clothes. She had to pay for his new wardrobe. This same friend also had to pay for his truck to be repainted and  had to buy four new tires!!! Big truck tires are expensive!!  Things aren't so easy to get by with anymore. The scented bags are a safer idea!!

As for me...my body is so mad at me right now!! That was not a good fall. I just keep icing and doing what I can.

I went in to get my haircut and highlighted at 12:30. I didn't get back in my apartment until 3:00. I went for my first walk after I left her salon. I had to eat lunch. Now when I finish here I am going for a longer walk outside....YES I will be cautious!!

Wishing everyone a peaceful day!!

Prayers for our precious OFF Family and their families.

Loads of love and bushels of hugs to all.....connie d

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

Good luck getting through all that, Vickie. You have more energy than I do. Just reading that got me tired.

So today is my weekend. I had to get up at 6:30 a.m. to get Richard to his psych appointment for disability. I think he failed it with flying colors, which is a good thing. He couldn't do most of the tests. Can't remember what the doc called it, metabolic something or other. We were halfway there and Richard remembered he left his papers at the apartment. So I turned around and went back and told Richard I wouldn't have time to stop for his Diet Pepsi. I dropped him off at the doctor's office and went back to get our caffeine (I desperately needed coffee, too). Went back to the office, and Richard came out with the doc about 15 minutes later. That's when the doctor said something about metabolic something. Richard couldn't remember a lot of stuff ... like he was given three words to remember when he started and could only remember two. And a 90-second test, which he couldn't finish, he was too stressed out. Richard wasn't like this when I first met him, he was sharp.

So after that, I came home for awhile and then went to the Y for the arthritis class, then walked a bit for awhile in the pool. Since then, I've been doing laundry and napping. I'm pooped. So is Richard. He's asleep in his room. Plus, we only have the toilet in the half-bathroom in my room because the main toilet is leaking from the tank. I called my landlord first thing this morning and told him it was an emergency; he said plenty of people live with one toilet. I told him I have a roommate with kidney disease who shouldn't be holding it all night because he doesn't want to disturb my sleep. He said he'd get the handyman out here; so far, nothing. I'm going to call him again soon.

Richard was going to start cooking his other pork shank but I can see this isn't going to happen today. I had defrosted salsa chicken for a midday meal around 2 p.m. and that has filled me up. Probably just have a snack later on.

Well, have a good day.

Vic, Connie, Judy, and Eileen and others

I cannot believe how warm it is here.    We are supposed to have temperatures in the 80s tomorrow.   I am so happy...this cold weather has killed me.   I have had a busy, busy day too and DH and I were going to go out to eat but I decided I am too tired to sit in a restaurant.

I hate hiring a handyman because it is usually so hard to get them to commit to a number...and we need the number.

Eileen, I hope Richard gets on the disability because it sounds like there isn't any way he would be able to work.  Your landlord sounds like an ass and if I were you, I'd find another place.

Well, I need to go see if I have something I can heat up...But first, I'm taking off my work clothes and slipping into a pair of sweats and a Tshirt.

Evening Vickie and OFF,

Had another busy day.  Shopping, bank, run, run, run.  Then a few chores.  I decided to stay home from Bible study tonight.

I need to finish some chores.

Hugs and Prayers,

Trish

Hello everyone!

I read all the posts today.  LOL!  I will tell Carrie she has the revenge of the "sistas" behind her.

I managed to get through another day and I got more "bites" taken out of that elephant.  I moved more of my planters to the new house, I met with the granite guy, I went to Home Depot and bought the last piece I needed for Mom's bathroom--a medicine cabinet mirror, and I bought Easter for the boys.  Whew!  Oh, and I came home and fed Butch.  Now I'm about done for the day. I just want to crawl in bed and stay there until I have to get up again tomorrow.

I'll worry about packing us up for our trip to Houston tomorrow--tomorrow!  Yes'm, Miss Scarlett!

Love you all!
