Busy Bee Thursday

Good morning sistas!

I'm up and buzzing about this morning.  Got to meet the granite guy at the new house at 10 a.m.  I'll be going alone this time.  Butch just isn't feeling well today.  He woke up with a headache on top of all his other woes, poor baby!

So I really hope I can pick out something I like at a price I can afford.  I'm excited to see the samples he brings.

Got to rush back here, though, after my meeting with the granite guy.  Butch--unbeknownst to ME--asked a neighbor who is a plumber to come in this evening and look at our dishwasher.  Oy vey!  My house is a wreck!  I don't want ANYONE coming in and seeing it right now.  Men.  They never think of these things.  So I'll have to do a blitz cleaning when I get back and at least have the kitchen and the dining room presentable.

Okay, time to hop in the shower.  Love you all!  Check back in this afternoon.

Good Morning Vickie and OFF,

I had some sort of allergic reaction last night, and my sinuses just got so inflamed, and I was up very, very late.  I called my doctor, and have an appointment later this afternoon.  I was supposed to go to Aldi with Colleen, but I was too wiped out.

I have chores around here, if I can get them done.

Vickie, I hope the granite guy has something you like and can afford.  I'm sure Butch meant well, but just didn't think.

Love you,

Trish

Hi Trish....so sorry you had such a rough night last night. That had to have been awful. Are you seeing a regular doctor or a specialist? I sure hope they can get this straightened out soon. That must be so painful.

Don't be so concerned about chores. You take care of you first! Please let us know how the appointment goes.

I will continue to keep praying for you.

Much love and many hugs....connie d

Hi Connie,

I have horrific sinus allergies.  My sister has allergies, but she sneezes and gets a runny nose.  My, my sinuses inflame, and then get infected.  I've been on an antibiotic, and doing sinus rinsing, and I can tell the infection is going, but, when they are inflamed from an allergic reaction, I get horrific headaches, bordering on a migraine.

I am allergic to dust mites, every tree in this part of Michigan, and every weed, except ragweed.  I also have to wash Utley regularly, because when he's shedding I react.

Basically, with Spring, I''m screwed.  I am half tempted to go back to the allergist, except I'd have to go off my allergy meds for five days, which is HELL.

Love you,

Trish

Trish...that sounds just miserable.....I am so sorry you have to go through this all the time.

You said you see and allergist....have you gone to an actual, ear, nose and throat clinic? There are amazing things they an do now. I am not trying to be bossy....I just feel so bad for you.

I can't have pets as I am allergic to cats, dogs, birds, horses...anything with fur or feathers!!

You need to go see that allergist next fall after the first freeze. No, I wouldn't want to be off my allergy meds for 5 days either!!

Sending more love and hugs to you....connie d

Thanks Connie,

I do see and ENT.  I've had three sinus surgeries, which are worse than RNY surgery when it comes to pain.  The worst was when I broke my nose three years ago, and needed it straightened, and the doc said that blood had pooled in my sinuses, and was a breeding ground for more infections.  He can't do anymore surgeries.

I forgot to mention I'm allergic to mold, which is everywhere in the fall, with the leaves on the ground.

Love you.

Good morning Vickie and everyone....

Vickie....sounds like another crazy day for you! Sorry about the plumber coming....men....they don't think sometimes!

I really hope the your granite guy comes with the samples that you like. Then that part will be done! Did Sam ever connect with you. I know you had odd jobs for him to do.

Don't be rushing around when you are driving...we want you to return safely home. Butch will probably just rest why you are gone anyway. I pray he feels better soon.

As for me....I woke up nauseous this morning...hope it passes soon. I am going out for my first walk in a little bit. Not much else going on here. I was going to take a bus to Walmart this afternoon. I decided to cancel.

I better get moving myself....have a great day everyone!

Prayers for our special OFF Family and their families.

Loads of love and many hugs to all....connie d

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

Ugh. I feel like crap. We had thunderstorms last night and now it's just drippy and cool. My body doesn't like this kind of weather. So after two days of getting up early and not sleeping well, I have this. Yuck.

Yesterday was a mess. Richard sold his big TV. We are both sorry to see it go, but I have my 27-inch TV that works just fine, although it looks so tiny after having that big TV. But he needed the money for his drugs, contacts and other items. So what can I say? We do what we have to do.

So after that, we got the 27-inch TV set back up in the living room and I later got my old 22-inch TV set up in my bedroom. But as I was doing that, I couldn't get it to hook up to the box. So I went out to the living room to reboot the router. As I was trying to do that, before I even touched it, the cable went out. So I called the cable company and spent a good 45 minutes trying to make things work ... resetting the router, resetting the DVR, etc. Nothing worked. So finally, we had to set a date for the cable guy to come out. It would have been Friday, an all-day appointment.

So Richard, who is very tech-savvy, spent most of the night trying to get it to work. He played around with the router and the DVR box and trying to see if there was a signal going through. Finally ... he went to bed, I don't know when. When I got up this morning (when the phone meowed ... it's my ringtone), at nearly 10 a.m., Richard told me to call the cable company and asked them to send a signal. So after making coffee, I did that ... except somehow the router wasn't plugged in. So after Richard did that ... the signal went through and voila! The TVs worked! Don't know what the problem was last night. Don't think it was the weather because the bad weather happened after we started having problems. But everything works now, so all is good.

Anyway, Trish, I can sympathize with the sinus problems. Can't tell if this headache is a migraine or sinus one ... very similar ... It's coming from the back of my head near the neck. I've had an ice pack on it most of the morning. Didn't go to the Y. So tired today. Unfortunately, I have to go to work.

Connie, hope your walk is good.

Have a good day, everyone.

Hi Suzanne!  Yes, we are all WLS over 50 here.  Most of us are several years out at this point and so we often chat about all sorts of things here besides just WLS.

HOWEVER, we WELCOME you to our group and we are always willing to discuss surgery issues.  We have a couple of newbies who have just joined us recently--some are still waiting for their surgery dates--so there are all "ages" here.

Please tell us a little about yourself and your surgery.  We would love to get to know you!  And we will help you all we can.
