Tuesday morning
Hello my OFF family:
I'm up early on my weekend first day; I'm determined to get to the Y for my arthritis pool class, even though I'm really tired. Two cups of coffee haven't got me going either.
Last night was easy at least. We were done by 10:30 p.m. Which is good because the next couple of weeks won't be easy, what with all the March Madness going on. Plus, Evansville is hosting the Division II Elite Eight men's basketball tournament.
Well, time to get going and get ready for the Y. Have a good day.
Top o'the morning to you all! (This was as close to a green emoticon as I could find this morning!)
St. Patrick's day is not a real big deal to me, but it is to so many people. If you're Irish or celebrating today, I wish you a good time!
Eileen, I'm glad you had a relatively easy night last night. You're right: March Madness will be madness for you at the paper. I hope you had a good workout at the Y.
Speaking of the Y, I finally let our membership go. I kept thinking I would be able to get back there again, but that's just not going to happen, and especially now that we're moving. But our new neighborhood has lovely sidewalks everywhere and a great community pool and park. I'm not sure if pedestrians are allowed to walk the paths in the golf course or not, but that would make a lovely workout, too. I'll be able to exercise and swim all I care to there.
And of course, I plan to do a great deal of work landscaping the back yard. I have flower beds to dig and build and plant.
So, we got the home inspection report and there's only one major issue that needs to be addressed, but it's a significant one. There's a leak under the shower in the master bath. That's got to be fixed before we can close. So I doubt we'll be closing tomorrow. Still waiting to hear back from the sellers on how they're going to deal with that issue.
Butch had a pretty fair day yesterday, but then he had a rough night last night. Up and down all night long getting him pain pills and nausea pills, etc. I'm feeling pretty wiped out this morning from the interrupted sleep. Plus I have a headache. But I really need to have a productive day today. This move isn't going to happen by itself, now is it? I need to do at least a few things every day.
And boo hiss! My roomba has gone on the fritz. It charges on the base, but then when I turn it on, it only runs for a couple of seconds before the "charge me" light turns back on and it stops. As a result, the dog hair is piling up in here. I'm going to have to go old school and get the broom and dust pan out today.
But you know, every time I get overwhelmed, I tell myself, "But at least I sold the boat!" LOL!
I ordered Butch a case of the Very High Calorie Boost and another case of something called Benecalorie. They're supposed to arrive today. This is good because I can barely get him to eat anything and he just desperately needs the calories and the nutrition. Did I tell y'all he weighed 147 at MDA last week? 147! He's just a walking skeleton these days. He needs to regain some of this lost weight and muscle mass. The NUT gave him a goal of 2000 calories and 80 grams of protein a day. If he can drink 4 of the VHC Boost shakes a day, he can meet that goal. I'm just hoping I can get him to drink two of them a day to start and build up from there.
Well, my day's a'wastin'! I need to get a move on. Love you all!
Happy St. Patrick's Day Eileen and OFF,
Yes, this is my day. I was named after my Aunt Patricia Reilly Mullins, who was named after my Great-Uncle Patrick Reilly. My name is Patricia Reilly. I cannot, nor would I want to, deny my Irish heritage. It's days like today that I miss my Dad. He had an Irish tenor voice, and would sing songs like, "My Wild Irish Rose," and "Oh Danny Boy" all the time.
I had an appointment with my hematologist this morning. He works at the cancer center, and the waiting room had chemo caps that people donated for the patients. I would like to start making them, if I ever finish all the projects I have on my plate. I've ripped out most of the vest I'm making for Lincoln, not once, but twice. I'm very frustrated with how it's going. It should be easier than it is, but I can't seem to get the seam where I change rows to stay straight. Argh.
I have a quick errand to run, then chores around here.
Eileen, you enjoy your day off. March Madness will keep you busy.
Vickie, I hope you are finding some way to get some time to yourself soon.
I was disappointed this morning coz as I was heading to my doctor appointment, Colleen called to invite me to go swimming with her and Frankie. I couldn't because of the appointment. I absolutely love swimming, and so do the kids. They love it, and I love to be with them in the pool.
Better scoot.
Love, Hugs and Prayers,
Trish

Good morning/afternoon Eileen and everyone...
Only a quick note today. Yes,I am dressed in green as I am part Irish!
Yesterday the temp was in the low 60s. It was 22 degrees when I woke up at 8:00 this morning. It is 33 now at 1:00 PM. We are supposed to have some cold weather again, throughout the weekend for sure.
I don't think I will be on here much today. My pain , due to the weather is a 12 on a chart of 1 thru 10. I can't hardly walk much less sit in a chair, and my hands are having a hard time typing. I am going to take Vicodin and sleep all I can.
I just didn't want anyone to think I was upset or anything.
Have a good St Patrick's Day everyone!!
Prayers for our amazing OFF Family and their families. Special prayers for Butch and Vickie.
Lots of Love and Many Hugs to all......connie d
Connie, I understand about your pain level. Funny, but after my pool workout, my pain level shot up, especially my right knee. Fortunately, I go back to the knee doc tomorrow. I can't understand why it is still hurting so much when the x-rays say it is OK. Anyway, you rest up, Connie. I was so tired when I got home. I took a long nap while Richard cooked dinner.
