Monday and the SUN is shining .....

These last few days have been great.... sun shining and NO snow is falling.  How great is that?!?!

Using a friend's computer this morning.  I've got a shipping box and label from Walmart to send my computer back for repair/replacement, and I'm waiting for a shipping label from K-Mart so I can send back my tablet.  And -- I just got off the phone with Roku -- that's a device I have for streaming Netflix/Amazon, etc. This was my fourth or fifth call to them for tech support re problems with that device- they are sending me a new remote which is supposed to resolve that issue.  Ain't technology great!!!  I remember when it was a big deal to have a color tv with a remote cotrol --we've come a long way, baby!  But is it for the better?  Sometimes I wonder......... I just read yesterday that the 20-29 year old Americans are the weakest in the work force compared to other countries.  I think they're spending too much time on their "electronics" (talking/texting/playing video games/watching tv) -- interpersonal skills are lacking.

I've been feeling up, then down, then up, then down again lately.  Jim is feeling better now that he is on new meds, and is actually taking them.  He has lost 15 pounds of fluid weight since Thursday, and his stomach and legs have gone down considerably.  I swing back and forth between feeling bad for him, and then wanting to bite his head off. Hopefully with the better weather I'll get out and about more which will give me some space.  Cabin fever has gotten the better of me!

Hope you ladies are all doing well - and likewise for the men in our lives too!  They say when your health is good, life is good.  Prayers to all those that need them.  Hope the weather is lifting your spirits too!

Good Afternoon Mary and OFF,

I've been AWOL, just busy, and not on the puter much.  Got to play with the babies in Nursery yesterday, then watched the Phillies for a little while.  After tha****ched the Michigan State game, which they lost because of a bad call near the end of the game.  They'll bounce back in the tournament.

This morning I was back at Colleen's playing with Frankie.  He's so much fun.  Hot Wheels, monster trucks, and a battle between Ninja Turtle and Batman action figures.  I had the Ninja Turtle, and he had Batman.  Batman kept winning.  He enjoyed that so much, especially because now and then the Ninja Turtle decided to tickle his belly.  When Colleen came home, we had lunch together.  Now that I'm home, I have a ton of chores to do.  My Apple TV is acting up, and I don't have time to talk to tech support this afternoon. Maybe later.

Weather was gorgeous, and will be today.  Supposed to go intoo the 60's today.

Well, I better get moving, or my place will stay looking like a tornado went through it.

Must scoot.

Praying for everyone, especially Butch and Vickie.

Love and Hugs,

Trish

Hi Trish....sorry Michigan State lost yesterday. Everyone has days like that! You are right, they will bounce back!!

I am glad you spent the morning with Frankie. I used to love playing cars and action figures with Nic and Lucas when they were young. I miss those days!! Aren't grandchildren just the best!!!

Sorry about your TV acting up. I hope you can talk to a tech and get it straightened out. I posted on Mary's reply that I hate talking to tech support and why.

Crank up some tunes and sing along....it is easier cleaning that way. Time goes by faster!!

Have a good rest of the day!!

Love and many hugs to you...connie d

Hi Mary and Trish,

I have so much to do around here and I just cannot seem to get my butt in gear today.  I just want to sit.  At the computer.  With snacks.  Sigh.  Not being very productive today at all.

I go to the dentist in a little while, so I need to get up and slap on some makeup.

Other than that, I have nothing to report.  Butch is feeling a bit better today.  At least he's up and out of bed.

I think I have the beginnings of the blue funk.  Or maybe it's the increased dose of prozac.  Whatever it is, I just don't seem to care about anything today.

Love you all!

Hi Vickie....I understand the blue funk. It is going around!! The weather has a lot to do with it. It is okay for you to take a do nothing day when you can get one. I am doing nothing...other then my walks. I have no desire to do anything!

A dentist appointment won't take long than you can be back home again.

I am glad Butch is feeling better today...thank you God!

I am happy my Carrie was here for the weekend. It was so fun!!

Try to enjoy the rest of your day. I love you my sister!!

HUGS and more love....connie d

P.S. I am going to send you a PM on here.

Hi Vickie,

It makes sense that you'd be feeling a blue funk right about now.  With or without the increased dose of Prozac.  You need a respite from the care giving.  Is there any way you could get someone to come in and sit with Butch for about four to five hours, and you go have a spa day.  When I was looking for agencies to help with Mom, I found agencies that provide in-home care, including respite care.  It would be worth looking into.  At least see if you can have one of the girls come in one afternoon, and go get your hair done, a massage, a pedicure, something just for you, or all three.  While you're out, go browse in Joann Fabric, and buy more yarn, or fabric, and think about starting another project.  Care giving has strong effects on the human body.  It's physically exhausting, puts stress on the adrenal glands, in addition to the emotional stress.  You will feel stronger and refreshed.  On the way home from your outing, stop and pick up a take out supper, and a package of paper plates to cut down on the number of dishes you have to wash.  All the restaurant chains offer carry--out of their menus.  When I took care of Mom while I was at her house, I ordered from Red Lobster, and brought that home for us to eat.  It was worth the luxury.  I didn't cook a blessed thing while at her house.  I even got our morning coffee from a convenience store.  Gave me a chance to go out while she was still sleeping.  I was wiped out just taking care of her for a week, and we weren't dealing with life and death issues.  I was thrilled when I got to take her to my sister's, and then go out for dinner with Christopher that evening.  I also stayed at my sister-in-law's and not with Mom at my sister's.  I went over every morning, taking coffee and a breakfast item, and went over to make sure she got up around 11:00, her normal wake-up time.  I made sure she had her morning meds, and a glass of cranberry juice mixed with seltzer water.  She's eat breakfast while I had some coffee.  The day we all saw her make a turn around was the day I made the Polish feast.  She ate more for dinner that evening than the previous week combined.  Plus, she wasn't negative the entire evening.  I knew her increased dose of the antidepressant had kicked in.

I hope you're able to get an afternoon of self-care soon.  That should really help you overall.

Love you.

Trish

Hello Mary and Everyone....Good Afternoon......

Mary....it sure does take awhile to get those shipping labels. I hope that you can get everything sent in soon. I hate dealing with any of those tech support places. Most time I can't understand them anyway.

I agree with the workforce getting weaker. Too many gadgets and not enough using their heads. Yes, their interpersonal skills are lacking!! Sadly I don't see that it will ever change any time soon.

Sorry you are feeling so up and down. I have been too. Maybe I need to take a break from my computer for awhile. I hope you feel better soon! Cabin fever...oh yes I think most of us are dealing with that!! I know the weather has a lot to do with how we feel.

My mom always said...when you have your health you have everything....as always she was right. I miss her so much!!

Everyone have a good day!!

Prayers for our loving OFF Family and their families. I am praying Butch is having a better day today...Vickie too.

Much love and lots of hugs to all....connie d

I'm bringing up the rear. I got back from Wisconsin this afternoon. Now I'm in Vinnie mode. Vinnie and I went grocery shopping. Liz went to work.

We traded cars so I have the carseat.

Now I'm sitting in front of the house. Vinine is sleeping.

When her dad gets home I'll have him get her little trike out so she can ride it.

I think I'm might go home a week from tomorrow or I might sneak to Denver cause my best friend in the world, her mother in law died on Saturday. The memorial is on the 29th and my friend Flys home from Isreal that morning. She will need help. So I'm thinking  I need to be there. It's easier to drive to Denver from Chicago. Then drive back home and fly.

I haven't told Carl yet cause I have to rearrange some things that are happwning.
