Sunday morning--how are you?

Good morning, sistas,

We are home, which is a blessing, but Butch is hurting a LOT this morning.  I think it is from the Neulasta shot.  At least I hope that's what it is, because that is a temporary condition.  Anyone here know anything about Neulasta?  I know what it does--it stimulates production of more blood cells, and that is what is making all of his bones ache.  But is this kind of pain normal?  They said it would last about 3 days.

So, it is Spring Break week here in Texas, which means we have all sorts of neighbors here.  So many of these houses belong to weekenders.  We get used to them being empty, and then boom, we have a street full of neighbors.  The people next door are especially annoying to me because I'm used to being able to step outside in my nightgown or pajamas.  LOL!  Drat.  I'll have to put on real clothes.

Today I need to do a Great Deal of Laundry.  Including my bedspread and blankets, which I can hang outside to dry.  We finally have a warm sunny day here!

I didn't take my Thrive with me to Houston, and sure enough, I got back on that damn sugar again.  And I need to stop it.  I've taken my pills this morning, but haven't yet made my shake.  I woke up with a headache which has set me back some.  Well, let me amend that.  I woke up at 4 a.m. with my husband who was in pain and wanting to take a hot shower.  Fell back asleep around 6 a.m. and then woke up at 9:30 with a headache.  My day feels all messed up already.

I was wanting Chris and Mike to come out here today and us do some more work, but I think Butch feels too bad to tolerate the boys being here.  They're adorable, but they bring lots of noise and chaos in their wake, you know?

I found this meme this morning on FB and it made me think of all of you.  So I'll leave it here with much love for each of my sistas!

Vic,

I know you are glad to be home and I hope you are able to catch up on your much needed rest.

Today, I am spending the day sitting and watching TV and crocheting.   I am leaving Tuesday for a week long conference in Tampa and have spent the last few days cooking meals for my husband and trying to get the house in order because I know when I get home, it will be in a mess.  While my husband tries, bless his heart, he doesn't do anything until the day I am do home.  So, today I rest.

We didn't have the grandkids this weekend because I knew I was going to be preparing for my trip and they have spent the entire weekend texting me to remind me to come and have lunch with them on Monday.   Little boogers.

Vic, rest up and those who follow, enjoy the last day of your weekend.   I wish all of you would have the sunshine that we are having...it is very welcomed after the last two weeks of snow, sleet, rain, and more rain.

Hi Jeannie....I am glad you are trying for a quiet weekend and getting all rested up again. Is that conference a WLS group??

That is nice you think of your hubby when you are away. You wouldn't want him not to eat...LOL!! Men...I think we spoil then too much. I was always guilty about that too.

It sounds like your grandchildren were missing you. Mine are always texting or calling too. I would be lost without them!! Have a good time at lunch together tomorrow!

Have a great time in Tampa!!!

Love you....HUGS....connie d

Hi Connie,

I have never attended a WLS conference.  The conference I am attending is a college communication composition conference and in my field, it is the big conference that we all try to attend.  I am lucky that my university pays for the conference for me including travel, food, registration fees, and hotel.  While I enjoy going and meeting up with old friends and learning new things, I hate the disruption in my schedule.

These grandkids do miss us when we are away, don't they.

Jeane

I don't think I'll be home in time to see you. I'm still in Chicago. I don't think I'm leaving till Tuesday. I might be driving to Denver from Chicago. My best friends mother in Law died Saturday and she us a mess. She leaves for Isreal tomorrow and has nobody to arrange the food for the memorial on the 29th. She gets back that morning. I might rearrange my life to go help out. My husband is not liking the udea about this one!!! But I'm half way there!!!

And what r best friends for!!! I'll make my decision in a few days after I get our car checked out.

Good Afternoon Vickie....I hope Butches pain goes away soon. I don't know anything about that medication. I hope you can get some answers.

You have to do laundry on this gorgeous day!! Well at least you can hang the linens outside. They smell so great to sleep on after they are out in the sun!

Happy to hear you slept in a bit today. You really need to catch up. I love you my sister....and you are always in my heart!!

I had a nice surprise yesterday....Carrie called me and asked what I was doing this weekend. I had nothing planned. She said, good because I am driving up to spend the rest of the day and night with you!! I was so happy!!! We had the nicest time together. Greg was gone somewhere and she decided not to just stay home. We made dinner together....Stir Fry....YUM!! The we watched an old movie and laughed and laughed. We stayed up talking for quite awhile. We also slept in this morning!! We went out to lunch and had fun there too. Then she had to leave. I miss her already!!!

I went out for my walks and now I am going to read and wait until "The Walking Dead" starts!!! Then I will crash in my bed again!!

I am tired out, but a good happy kind of tired!!

Wishing you all a peaceful rest of the day!!

Prayers for our sweet OFF Family and their families.

Loads of love and many hugs to all.......connie d

Hi everyone,

it was a pretty quiet day for me here. I woke up feeling like I have some sort of sick coming on, and now at 9pm, I can really feel it.  Chest congestion, sore throat, headache, chills.  Yuk! Well the good news is that I got my exercise in this morning before I really started feeling poorly.  I am going to have an herbal tea and curl up in bed with a book. Hope to see you all tomorrow!

Vickie, i glad to hear you are getting yourself some rest. You sure need it!

Connie, I'm so glad the weather is starting to break! It is still chilly here but we are seeing bare ground at last.  Hooray!

Jeannie, have a good trip to your conference!

Ok unfortunately I'm going to sign off and head to bed. Night night girls!

Hi Vickie and my OFF family:

So glad to see you here again, Vickie. I've thought about you a lot lately. Glad you are OK, other than for Butch's pain. This is what the website says about the drug's side effects: What are the most common side effects of Neulasta® (pegfilgrastim)?
The most common side effect you may experience is aching in the bones and muscles. If this happens, it can usually be relieved with a nonaspirin pain reliever, such as acetaminophen.

So that's to be expected. Sorry it has left him with more pain.

We had a warm day here in Evansville too, but I had to work. And I'm so tired today. I had 10 pages to do (or at least parts of 10 pages) and I just didn't want to go into today. I took a half-hour nap before work and had to rush to get dressed. Fortunately, with the NCAA brackets coming out, there wasn't much else beside college basketball and it was all done early. So I'm already done with sports and just waiting for the rest of the paper to finish up.

Richard got his food stamp card loaded and was excited to start cooking again. I know he hates he can't contribute to the household budget, so when he can buy food and cook, he's happy. So he bought some food and we had pizza for lunch (a giant pizza from Walmart ... I settled for one piece and was happy, because it was big and I didn't want to stuff my face). I figure I'll have another when I come home unless Richard has eaten the rest. It was so big I couldn't fit it on a cookie sheet ... I had to cut it in half.

Well, that's all for now. Have a good night.
